Though the NMS will finally realize pure IPv6 network management, it must be accommodated to the management of relevant IPv4 equipment. The ...The development of scientific inquiry and research has yielded numerous benefits in the realm of intelligent traffic control systems, particularly in the realm of automatic license plate recognition for vehicles. The design of license plate recognition algorithms has undergone digitalization through the utilization of neural networks. In contemporary times, there is a growing demand for vehicle surveillance due to the need for efficient vehicle processing and traffic management. The design, development, and implementation of a license plate recognition system hold significant social, economic, and academic importance. The study aims to present contemporary methodologies and empirical findings pertaining to automated license plate recognition. The primary focus of the automatic license plate recognition algorithm was on image extraction, character segmentation, and recognition. The task of character segmentation has been identified as the most challenging function based on my observations. The license plate recognition project that we designed demonstrated the effectiveness of this method across various observed conditions. Particularly in low-light environments, such as during periods of limited illumination or inclement weather characterized by precipitation. The method has been subjected to testing using a sample size of fifty images, resulting in a 100% accuracy rate. The findings of this study demonstrate the project’s ability to effectively determine the optimal outcomes of simulations.展开更多

The problem consisted in recovering full service after network failure, in order to rapidly satisfy all urgent citywide demands. The optimal recovery solution was achieved through the application of so-called network design problems (NDPs), which are a form of combinatorial optimization problem. However, a conventional NDP is not suitable for addressing urgent situations because (1) it does not utilize the non-failure arcs in the network, and (2) it is solely concerned with stable costs such as flow costs. Therefore, to adapt the technique to such urgent situations, the conventional NDP is here modified to deal with the specified water supply problem. Allocation of fixe or flow-dependent inter-zone trading capacities by the PX (power exchange) can not be accepted unreservedly. The paper is meant to show that a nodal electricity market design that is based on bids for local energy and a regulated transmission access including allocation of "entry-exit" transmission capacity would be the desired solution. The market players could easily optimize their portfolio while the TSOs (transmission system operators) are requested to mobilize the network's in-built flexibility to increase the cross zonal capacity. In the proposed market design, the PX's allocation of trading capacity is clearly separate from the TSO's management of the power system operational constraint5. Energy harvesting(EH)technology in wireless communication is a promising approach to extend the lifetime of future wireless networks.A cross-layer optimal adaptation policy for a point-to-point energy harvesting(EH)wi...Energy harvesting(EH)technology in wireless communication is a promising approach to extend the lifetime of future wireless networks.A cross-layer optimal adaptation policy for a point-to-point energy harvesting(EH)wireless communication system with finite buffer constraints over a Rayleigh fading channel based on a Semi-Markov Decision Process(SMDP)is investigated.Most adaptation strategies in the literature are based on channeldependent adaptation.However,besides considering the channel,the state of the energy capacitor and the data buffer are also involved when proposing a dynamic modulation policy for EH wireless networks.Unlike the channeldependent policy,which is a physical layer-based optimization,the proposed cross-layer dynamic modulation policy is a guarantee to meet the overflow requirements of the upper layer by maximizing the throughput while optimizing the transmission power and minimizing the dropping packets.Based on the states of the channel conditions,data buffer,and energy capacitor,the scheduler selects a particular action corresponding to the selected modulation constellation.Moreover,the packets are modulated into symbols according to the selected modulation type to be ready for transmission over the Rayleigh fading channel.Simulations are used to test the performance of the proposed cross-layer policy scheme,which shows that it significantly outperforms the physical layer channel-dependent policy scheme in terms of throughput only.展开更多

Numerous service design methods have been developed for designing and developing products. However, owing to the limited availability of useful tools in IT service design, these methods are ineffective. This study proposes an innovative three-dimensional method for designing IT services. The proposed method considers user requirements, an organization's business requirements, service providers' management requirements as well as the decision-making criteria of management representatives to ensure a smooth implementation of a designed IT service. Using this method, a prototype system to improve campus wireless local area network services was developed and tested at a university in Taiwan. The prototype system reduced the need for repetitive authentication and the time required to solve service problems and address user complaints. In addition, the service design team observed an approximately 70% reduction in project cycle time. The proposed method provided a systematic means to organize the design and implementation of IT services.展开更多

It is a well-established fact that wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are very power constraint networks, but besides this, they are inherently more fault-prone than any other type of wireless network and their protocol ...It is a well-established fact that wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are very power constraint networks, but besides this, they are inherently more fault-prone than any other type of wireless network and their protocol design is very application specific. Major reasons for the faults are the unpredictable wireless communication channel, battery depletion, as well as fragility and mobility of the nodes. Furthermore, as traditional protocol design methods have proved inadequate, the cross-layer design (CLD) approach, which allows for interactions between different layers, providing more flexible and energy-efficient functionality, has emerged as a viable solution for WSNs. In this study we define a fault tolerance management module suitable to the requirements, limitations, and specifics of WSNs, encompassing methods for fault detection, fault prevention, fault management, and recovery. The suggested solution is in line with the CLD approach, which is an important factor in increasing the network performance. Through simulations the functionality of the network is evaluated, based on packet loss, delay, and energy consumption, and is compared with a similar solution not including fault management. The results achieved support the idea that the introduction of a unified approach to fault management improves the network performance as a whole.展开更多

Achieving high programmability has become an essential aim of network research due to the ever-increasing internet traffic.Software-Defined Network(SDN)is an emerging architecture aimed to address this need.However,ma...Achieving high programmability has become an essential aim of network research due to the ever-increasing internet traffic.Software-Defined Network(SDN)is an emerging architecture aimed to address this need.However,maintaining accurate knowledge of the network after a failure is one of the largest challenges in the SDN.Motivated by this reality,this paper focuses on the use of self-healing properties to boost the SDN robustness.This approach,unlike traditional schemes,is not based on proactively configuring multiple(and memory-intensive)backup paths in each switch or performing a reactive and time-consuming routing computation at the controller level.Instead,the control paths are quickly recovered by local switch actions and subsequently optimized by global controller knowledge.Obtained results show that the proposed approach recovers the control topology effectively in terms of time and message load over a wide range of generated networks.Consequently,scalability issues of traditional fault recovery strategies are avoided.展开更多
