Background The increasing prevalence of hepatic steatosis presents a considerable challenge to public health.There is a critical need for the development of novel preventive and screening strategies for this condition...Background The increasing prevalence of hepatic steatosis presents a considerable challenge to public health.There is a critical need for the development of novel preventive and screening strategies for this condition.Thisstudy evaluated the potential applications of wrist pulse detection technology for the early detection of liverdiseases.The pulse time-domain features of a medical exam population with and without hepatic steatosis wereassessed to develop a screening model for this disease.Methods Participants were consecutively recruited from March 2021 to March 2022 in the medical examinationcenters of the Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Clinical data from 255 participants,including general information(sex,age,and body mass index),and data related to glucose and blood lipids(fasting plasma glucose,triglyceride,total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein,and low-density lipoprotein levels)were collected.Wrist pulse signalswere acquired using a pulse detection device,and the pulse time-domain features,including t_(1),t_(4),t_(5),T,w_(1),w_(2),h_(2)/h_(1),h_(3)/h_(1),and h5/h_(1) were extracted.Participants were assigned to hepatic steatosis and non-hepatic steatosisgroups according to their abdominal ultrasound examination results.Their clinical data and pulse time-domainfeatures were compared using chi-square and parametric or non-parametric statistical methods.Three datasetswere used to construct screening models for hepatic steatosis based on the random forest algorithm.The datasetsfor modeling were defined as Dataset 1,containing blood glucose and lipid data and general information;Dataset2,containing time-domain features and general information;Dataset 3,containing time-domain features,bloodglucose and lipid data,and general information.The evaluation metrics,accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,andareas under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)were compared for each model.Results The time-domain features of the two groups differed significantly.The t_(1),t_(4),t_(5),T,h_(2)/h_(1),h_(3)/h_(1),w_(1),and w_(2) features were higher in the hepatic steatosis group than in the non-hepatic steatosis group(P<0.05),while the h5/h_(1) features were lower in the hepatic steatosis group than in the non-hepatic steatosis group(P<0.05).The screening models for hepatic steatosis based on both time-domain features and blood glucose andlipid data outperformed those based on time-domain features or blood markers alone.The accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,and AUC of the combined model were 81.18%,80.56%,76.32%,79%,and 87.79%,respectively.These proportions were 1.57%,1.86%,1.76%,2%,and 3.54%higher,respectively,than those of the model basedon time-domain features alone and 3.14%,4.2%,2.64%,4%,and 6.47%higher,respectively,than those of themodel based on blood glucose and lipid alone.Conclusion The early screening model for hepatic steatosis using datasets that included pulse time-domainfeatures achieved better performance.The findings suggest that pulse detection technology could be used toinform the development of a mobile medical device or remote home monitoring system to test for hepatitissteatosis.展开更多

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the complex heterozygous mutations of ANK1 and SPTA1 in the same individual and improve our understanding of hereditary spherocytosis(HS)in children.We also hope to ...BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the complex heterozygous mutations of ANK1 and SPTA1 in the same individual and improve our understanding of hereditary spherocytosis(HS)in children.We also hope to promote the application of gene detection technology in children with HS,with the goals of identifying more related gene mutations,supporting the acquisition of improved molecular genetic information to further reveal the pathogenesis of HS in children,and providing important guidance for the diagnosis,treatment,and prevention of HS in children.CASE SUMMARY A 1-year and 5-month-old patient presented jaundice during the neonatal period,mild anemia 8 months later,splenic enlargement at 1 year and 5 months,and brittle red blood cell permeability.Genetic testing was performed on the patient,their parents,and sister.Swiss Model software was used to predict the protein structure of complex heterozygous mutations in ANK1 and SPTA1.Genetic testing revealed that the patient harbored a new mutation in the ANK1 gene from the father and a mutation in the SPTA1 gene from the mother.Combined with the clinical symptoms of the children,it is suggested that the newly discovered complex heterozygous mutations of ANK1 and SPTA1 may be the cause,providing important guidance for revealing the pathogenesis,diagnosis,treatment,and promotion of gene detection technology in children with HS.CONCLUSION This case involves an unreported complex heterozygous mutation of ANK1 and SPTA1,which provides a reference for exploring HS.展开更多
Integrated geophysical technology is a necessary and effective means for geothermal exploration.However,integration of geophysical technology for large‐scale surveys with those for geothermal reservoir localization i...Integrated geophysical technology is a necessary and effective means for geothermal exploration.However,integration of geophysical technology for large‐scale surveys with those for geothermal reservoir localization is still in development.This study used the controlled source audio‐frequency magnetotelluric method technology for large‐scale exploration to obtain underground electrical structure information and micromotion detection technology to obtain underground wave velocity structure information.The combination of two detection technologies was used for local identification of geothermal reservoirs.Further,auxiliary correction and inversion constraint were implemented through the audio magnetotelluric sounding technology for maximum authenticity restoration of the near‐and transition‐field data.Through these technology improvements,a geothermal geological model was established for the Binhai County of Jiangsu Province in China and potential geothermal well locations were identified.On this basis,a geothermal well was drilled nearly 3000m deep,with a daily water volume of over 2000m3/day and a geothermal water temperature of 51°C at the well head.It is found that predictions using the above integrated geophysical exploration technology are in good agreement with the well geological formation data.This integrated geophysical technology can be effectively applied for geothermal exploration with high precision and reliability.展开更多

[Methed] Bio-safety disposal and recovering processing of excrements in a duck farm were researched based on technology of configuration, detection, digestion, EM and poultry breeding. [Result] The integrated application technology is quite simple and the cost is not high. During breeding period, excellent organic fertilizers and high-protein forages could be obtained without any antibiotics. Furthermore, secondary wastes and pollution would not occur. In addition, ammonia was lower in excrements processed with earthworm and air pollution was reduced; the produced humus provided organic fertilizers and improved barren soils. [Conclusion] The research provides references of multi-technology integration for related industries.展开更多
Potato spindle tuber viroid(PSTVd)disease is one of the major diseases that threatens potato production.Therefore,an advanced,rapid and sensitive detection technology is needed to detect the disease for better control...Potato spindle tuber viroid(PSTVd)disease is one of the major diseases that threatens potato production.Therefore,an advanced,rapid and sensitive detection technology is needed to detect the disease for better control.In order to establish an easier nucleic acid spot hybridization(NASH)method,some studies were tried as the followings:(1)the pre-hybridization step of nucleic acid spot hybridization(NASH)was omitted compared with ordinary way;(2)RNA extraction(phenol extraction and Ames buffer extraction)methods were compared;(3)fixed RNA by UV lamp and oven compared with UV cross-linker;(4)hybridized the RNA in shaking incubator and so on.The results showed that RNA extracted by Ames buffer was more effective than by the phenol extraction method.Besides,the result of hybridization without pre-hybridization step was better than that with 1.5 h of pre-hybridization.The more important discovery was that the shaking incubator could replace the hybridization oven and the ordinary UV lamp could replace the UV cross-linker.After a long term repeated research and testing,a new hybridization system that could rapidly detect the PSTVd by improved NASH technique merely using common instruments and equipment was established.展开更多

Objective This study aimed to determine whether the prevalence of thyroid nodules(TNs)increased due to modern lifestyles or other factors,despite the advances in screening and diagnostic tools.Methods This study inclu...Objective This study aimed to determine whether the prevalence of thyroid nodules(TNs)increased due to modern lifestyles or other factors,despite the advances in screening and diagnostic tools.Methods This study included 3474 pairs of participants,who were matched by gender and age(±3 years)from two cross-sectional sampling surveys:(1)the program on the iodine nutritional status and related health status of residents in Shanghai in 2009;(2)the thyroid disease screening program for adults in Shanghai between 2017 and 2018.The prevalence of TNs and thyroid diseases in 2009 and 2017–2018 were compared,and the potential risk factors of TNs were detected.Results The prevalence of TNs in 2009 was 28.9%:22.5%in males and 34.5%in females.In 2017,this increased to 43.8%:37.9%in males and 49.1%in females.The prevalence of TNs significantly increased from 2009 to 2017(odds ratio,1.486;95%confidence interval,1.238–1.786).In addition,female gender,thyroid disease history,and age were the main risk factors for TNs after adjusting for confounders in the logistic regression across the time period.Conclusion The prevalence of TNs significantly increased across nearly 10 years in Shanghai.展开更多

The typical representative TPB(tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene)molecule with AIE effect was used as a fluorescent probe,and the specific recognition of tetracycline antibiotics was achieved through the comparison of the exp...The typical representative TPB(tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene)molecule with AIE effect was used as a fluorescent probe,and the specific recognition of tetracycline antibiotics was achieved through the comparison of the experimental results of the quenching of TPB by nine antibiotics of different types,which indicated that tetracycline antibiotics were found to quench TPB to the greatest extent,while the quenching of other antibiotics(e.q.chloramphenicol,aminoglycoside,sulfonamides,and quinolone)was not obvious.Then the quantitative relationship between the concentration of antibiotic solution and the effect of fluorescence quench was investigated by taking oxytetracycline among tetracycline antibiotics as an example,and the detection limit was calculated.Finally,it was found that the UV absorption spectra of tetracycline hydrochloride and the fluorescence excitation spectra of TPB had high overlap,while the overlap between the UV absorption spectra of other antibiotics,such as sulfadimethoxine,and the fluorescence laser spectrum of TPB was low,which fulfilled the fluorescence internal filtering effect.The fluorescence probe has stable properties,low cost and strong anti-interference ability,which makes the method more valuable in the practical detection of tetracycline.This study indicates great potent in the detection of antibiotics.展开更多

文摘As a widespread element,heavy metals have a significant impact on human health and threaten human health.It is of great significance to develop analytical technologies that can detect heavy metal ions quickly and accurately.In comparison to conventional fluorescent materials such as organic dyes,quantum dot(QD)labels,and carbon quantum dots(CD),fluorescence detection technology utilizing lanthanide(Ln)ion-doped upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)stands out due to its distinctive attributes.These include a notably reduced autofluorescence background,enhanced tissue penetration capabilities,biocompatibility with cellular tissues,and minimal photodamage inflicted on biological samples.The utilization of this technology has garnered considerable attention across multiple fields.In the domain of heavy metal detection,traditional laboratory methods necessitate costly instrumentation and a fully equipped laboratory,involving intricate sample processing procedures and protracted detection periods,as well as a demand for skilled personnel.In contrast,the implementation of this material offers rapid and cost-effective detection,significantly mitigating the technical barriers for operators.Consequently,this represents an exceptional avenue to curtail expenses and broaden the scope of detection within the analytical process.This paper reviews the research progress of UCNPs in the detection of heavy metal ions,encompassing a brief elucidation of the luminescence principle of upconversion nanomaterials and commonly used detection principles.Additionally,it provides a detailed overview of the research status of several common non-metal ions and essential heavy metals.Furthermore,it summarizes the current focal points in UCNP detection and discusses the challenges and prospects associated with it.
文摘This article focuses on bridge testing technologies in highway construction and expansion projects.It provides an overview of the inspection process for bridges in highway reconstruction and expansion projects,the main inspections,and strategies for improving the quality of inspections.Relevant units should conduct bridge inspections using appearance inspections,special inspections,and bearing capacity assessments in highway reconstruction and expansion projects.To effectively improve testing quality,relevant units should also focus on establishing and improving testing standards,strengthening material testing,and improving the overall quality of the testing personnel.This research aims to enhance the quality of highway reconstruction and expansion projects by supporting the sensible application of bridge inspection technology.

文摘As a vital and integral component of transportation infrastructure,pavement has a direct and tangible impact on socio-economic sustainability.In recent years,an influx of groundbreaking and state-of-the-art materials,structures,equipment,and detection technologies related to road engineering have continually and progressively emerged,reshaping the landscape of pavement systems.There is a pressing and growing need for a timely summarization of the current research status and a clear identification of future research directions in these advanced and evolving technologies.Therefore,Journal of Road Engineering has undertaken the significant initiative of introducing a comprehensive review paper with the overarching theme of“advanced road materials,structures,equipment,and detection technologies”.This extensive and insightful review meticulously gathers and synthesizes research findings from 39 distinguished scholars,all of whom are affiliated with 19 renowned universities or research institutions specializing in the diverse and multidimensional field of highway engineering.It covers the current state and anticipates future development directions in the four major and interconnected domains of road engineering:advanced road materials,advanced road structures and performance evaluation,advanced road construction equipment and technology,and advanced road detection and assessment technologies.
文摘Signals from infrared detector are very weak in SO2 concentration measuring system.In order to improve the sensitivity of detection,combining with filter correlation technology and infrared absorption principle,the weak signal processing circuit is designed according to correlation detection technology.Under laboratory conditions,system performance of SO2 concentration is tested,and the experimental data are analyzed and processed.Then relationship of SO2 concentration and the measuring voltage is provided to prove that the design improves measuring sensitivity of the system.

文摘BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the complex heterozygous mutations of ANK1 and SPTA1 in the same individual and improve our understanding of hereditary spherocytosis(HS)in children.We also hope to promote the application of gene detection technology in children with HS,with the goals of identifying more related gene mutations,supporting the acquisition of improved molecular genetic information to further reveal the pathogenesis of HS in children,and providing important guidance for the diagnosis,treatment,and prevention of HS in children.CASE SUMMARY A 1-year and 5-month-old patient presented jaundice during the neonatal period,mild anemia 8 months later,splenic enlargement at 1 year and 5 months,and brittle red blood cell permeability.Genetic testing was performed on the patient,their parents,and sister.Swiss Model software was used to predict the protein structure of complex heterozygous mutations in ANK1 and SPTA1.Genetic testing revealed that the patient harbored a new mutation in the ANK1 gene from the father and a mutation in the SPTA1 gene from the mother.Combined with the clinical symptoms of the children,it is suggested that the newly discovered complex heterozygous mutations of ANK1 and SPTA1 may be the cause,providing important guidance for revealing the pathogenesis,diagnosis,treatment,and promotion of gene detection technology in children with HS.CONCLUSION This case involves an unreported complex heterozygous mutation of ANK1 and SPTA1,which provides a reference for exploring HS.

文摘Integrated geophysical technology is a necessary and effective means for geothermal exploration.However,integration of geophysical technology for large‐scale surveys with those for geothermal reservoir localization is still in development.This study used the controlled source audio‐frequency magnetotelluric method technology for large‐scale exploration to obtain underground electrical structure information and micromotion detection technology to obtain underground wave velocity structure information.The combination of two detection technologies was used for local identification of geothermal reservoirs.Further,auxiliary correction and inversion constraint were implemented through the audio magnetotelluric sounding technology for maximum authenticity restoration of the near‐and transition‐field data.Through these technology improvements,a geothermal geological model was established for the Binhai County of Jiangsu Province in China and potential geothermal well locations were identified.On this basis,a geothermal well was drilled nearly 3000m deep,with a daily water volume of over 2000m3/day and a geothermal water temperature of 51°C at the well head.It is found that predictions using the above integrated geophysical exploration technology are in good agreement with the well geological formation data.This integrated geophysical technology can be effectively applied for geothermal exploration with high precision and reliability.

文摘[Objective] The aim was to explore technology on processing feces in duck farms at scale, providing guiding method for effective control of environmental issues in breeding farms. [Methed] Bio-safety disposal and recovering processing of excrements in a duck farm were researched based on technology of configuration, detection, digestion, EM and poultry breeding. [Result] The integrated application technology is quite simple and the cost is not high. During breeding period, excellent organic fertilizers and high-protein forages could be obtained without any antibiotics. Furthermore, secondary wastes and pollution would not occur. In addition, ammonia was lower in excrements processed with earthworm and air pollution was reduced; the produced humus provided organic fertilizers and improved barren soils. [Conclusion] The research provides references of multi-technology integration for related industries.

文摘Potato spindle tuber viroid(PSTVd)disease is one of the major diseases that threatens potato production.Therefore,an advanced,rapid and sensitive detection technology is needed to detect the disease for better control.In order to establish an easier nucleic acid spot hybridization(NASH)method,some studies were tried as the followings:(1)the pre-hybridization step of nucleic acid spot hybridization(NASH)was omitted compared with ordinary way;(2)RNA extraction(phenol extraction and Ames buffer extraction)methods were compared;(3)fixed RNA by UV lamp and oven compared with UV cross-linker;(4)hybridized the RNA in shaking incubator and so on.The results showed that RNA extracted by Ames buffer was more effective than by the phenol extraction method.Besides,the result of hybridization without pre-hybridization step was better than that with 1.5 h of pre-hybridization.The more important discovery was that the shaking incubator could replace the hybridization oven and the ordinary UV lamp could replace the UV cross-linker.After a long term repeated research and testing,a new hybridization system that could rapidly detect the PSTVd by improved NASH technique merely using common instruments and equipment was established.

文摘Objective This study aimed to determine whether the prevalence of thyroid nodules(TNs)increased due to modern lifestyles or other factors,despite the advances in screening and diagnostic tools.Methods This study included 3474 pairs of participants,who were matched by gender and age(±3 years)from two cross-sectional sampling surveys:(1)the program on the iodine nutritional status and related health status of residents in Shanghai in 2009;(2)the thyroid disease screening program for adults in Shanghai between 2017 and 2018.The prevalence of TNs and thyroid diseases in 2009 and 2017–2018 were compared,and the potential risk factors of TNs were detected.Results The prevalence of TNs in 2009 was 28.9%:22.5%in males and 34.5%in females.In 2017,this increased to 43.8%:37.9%in males and 49.1%in females.The prevalence of TNs significantly increased from 2009 to 2017(odds ratio,1.486;95%confidence interval,1.238–1.786).In addition,female gender,thyroid disease history,and age were the main risk factors for TNs after adjusting for confounders in the logistic regression across the time period.Conclusion The prevalence of TNs significantly increased across nearly 10 years in Shanghai.
文摘Highway bridges are an important part of the transportation industry and can promote social economic construction and development.In actual operation,highway bridges are often damaged due to overload and natural factors,which tend to affect the safety and shorten the service life of these bridges.Assessing the overall state and performance of highway bridges is therefore a key element.Static load test,which is a type of sustainable detection experiment,has many advantages,including low cost,high efficiency,and high accuracy.In this paper,the bridge structure is analyzed through the application of theoretical calculations and relevant comparisons,so as to judge the operating state of the bridge.
文摘California Bearing Ratio(CBR)test is highly professional and requires a high level of skills.In order to improve the accuracy of the test results,the relevant staff will not only need to understand the rules and procedures involved in the test,they would also need to be meticulous in their work to avoid human errors,provide good data support for highway engineering,and improve the overall quality of the project.Therefore,this paper presents an analysis of the application of CBR test in highway engineering,which can provide reference for engineering and promote the development of the highway industry.

文摘The typical representative TPB(tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene)molecule with AIE effect was used as a fluorescent probe,and the specific recognition of tetracycline antibiotics was achieved through the comparison of the experimental results of the quenching of TPB by nine antibiotics of different types,which indicated that tetracycline antibiotics were found to quench TPB to the greatest extent,while the quenching of other antibiotics(e.q.chloramphenicol,aminoglycoside,sulfonamides,and quinolone)was not obvious.Then the quantitative relationship between the concentration of antibiotic solution and the effect of fluorescence quench was investigated by taking oxytetracycline among tetracycline antibiotics as an example,and the detection limit was calculated.Finally,it was found that the UV absorption spectra of tetracycline hydrochloride and the fluorescence excitation spectra of TPB had high overlap,while the overlap between the UV absorption spectra of other antibiotics,such as sulfadimethoxine,and the fluorescence laser spectrum of TPB was low,which fulfilled the fluorescence internal filtering effect.The fluorescence probe has stable properties,low cost and strong anti-interference ability,which makes the method more valuable in the practical detection of tetracycline.This study indicates great potent in the detection of antibiotics.

文摘Detailed research on apple virus initiated in China from 1978. The species of main apple viruses have been identified and the characteristics of these viruses are discussed in this paper. These viruses include Apple mosaic virus, Apple scar skin viroid, Apple green crinkle virus, Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus, Apple stem pitting virus and Apple stem grooving virus. The main detection technologies are also described in this paper, including indicator plant, electron microscopy, serology method and molecular biological techniques.
