Data is a key asset for digital platforms,and mergers and acquisitions(M&As)are an important way for platform enterprises to acquire it.The types of data obtained from intra-industry and cross-sector M&As diff...Data is a key asset for digital platforms,and mergers and acquisitions(M&As)are an important way for platform enterprises to acquire it.The types of data obtained from intra-industry and cross-sector M&As differ,as does the extent to which they interact within or between platforms.The impact of such data on corporate market performance is an important question to consider when selecting strategies for digital platform M&As.Based on our research on advertising-driven platforms,we developed a two-stage Hotelling game model for comparing the market performance effects of intra-industry M&As and cross-sector M&As for digital platforms.We carried out an empirical test using relevant data from advertising-driven digital platforms between 2009 and 2021,as well as a case study on Baidu’s M&A activities.Our research discovered that intra-industry M&As driven by“data economies of scale”and cross-sector M&As driven by“data economies of scope”are both beneficial to the market performance of platform enterprises.Intra-industry M&As have a more significant positive effect on the market performance of platform enterprises because the same types of data are easier to integrate and develop the“network effect of data scale”.From a data factor perspective,this paper reveals the inherent economic logic by which different types of M&As influence the market performance of digital platforms,as well as policymaking recommendations for all digital platforms to select M&A strategies based on data scale,data scope,and the network effect of data.展开更多

The movement known as“Breque dos Apps”was a social movement of a striker nature,which took place in Brazil in July 2020.Such movement was organized by workers which provided services to delivery apps(like iFood,Logg...The movement known as“Breque dos Apps”was a social movement of a striker nature,which took place in Brazil in July 2020.Such movement was organized by workers which provided services to delivery apps(like iFood,Loggi,Uber Eats and Rappi).They demanded better working conditions and social protection measures,since they were out of the protection of the Brazilian legal system.The reason for this lies in the fact that there is a debate about the classification of these workers-the maximum expression of the gig economy-as employees under Brazilian legislation.As a result,and with the exponential growth in the use of these applications due to the Covid-19 pandemic,thousands of workers were left on the fringes of any social protection.This study aims to analyze the aforementioned movement and its demands within the paradigm of social rights,especially the ones regarding collective representation,which are guaranteed by the Brazilian Constitution.In terms of methodology,the content analysis method will be applied,considering that the established objective presupposes the study of theoretical and legal texts that allow the structuring of concepts applicable to the theme.The research technique to be adopted will be the analysis of indirect documentation,that is,literature review,to be carried out through bibliographic and documentary research,focused on literature and legal texts related to the topic.展开更多

This paper introduces the design of a digital simulation platform for satellite launch mission verification.The platform has the advantages of high generality and extensibility, being easy to build up. The Functional Mockup Interface(FMI) Standard is adopted to achieve integration of multi-source models. A WebGL based 3D visual simulation tool is also adopted to implement the virtual display system which could display the rocket launch process and rocket-satellite separation with high fidelity 3D virtual scenes. A configuration tool was developed to map the 3D objects in the visual scene with simulation physical variables for complex rocket flight control mechanisms, which greatly improves the platform's generality and extensibility. Finally the real-time performance had been tested and the YL-1 launch mission was adopted to demonstrate the functions of the platform.The platform will be used to construct a digital twin system for satellite launch missions in the future.展开更多
Characterized as they are by dynamic competition,cross-border operation,the network effect and oligopoly competition,digital platforms present a serious and complex monopoly problem,one that undermines competition,dam...Characterized as they are by dynamic competition,cross-border operation,the network effect and oligopoly competition,digital platforms present a serious and complex monopoly problem,one that undermines competition,damages consumers’ interests,suppresses the vitality of innovation and hinders high-quality development.They should therefore be brought under stricter anti-monopoly regulation.The traditional regulatory cycle of “stricter regulation brings everything to a standstill;looser regulation brings chaos in its wake” is a chronic problem in China’s market regulation,so the anti-monopoly regulation of digital platforms needs to avoid this regulatory paradox.To address digital platforms’ two-sided markets,dynamic competition and disruptive innovation,we need to create appropriate new theories of anti-monopoly regulation by establishing the principle of positive,inclusive and prudent regulation based on the concept of modesty.In the current context,efforts to strengthen regulation do not lay undue emphasis on tighter regulation and heavier penalties,but rather focus on regulatory transformation and innovation,aiming thereby to effectively improve regulation.Good law is the premise of good governance.It is necessary to speed up the revision of the Anti-Monopoly Law to include provisions for improving digital competition rules in order to provide high-quality regulatory systems.Actively promoting efficient,inclusive and prudent regulation,fair and impartial regulation,collaborative and integrated regulation,incentive-based regulation,credit regulation and intelligent regulation on the basis of good law,along with technology-enabled regulation,is a good governance approach to realizing anti-monopoly platform regulations.展开更多

The quantitative e...Planation surface, a surface that is almost flat, is a kind of low-relief landforms. Planation surface is the consequence of the denudation and planation processes under a tectonic stable condition. The quantitative expression of the characteristics of planation surface plays a key role in reconstructing and describing the evolutionary process of landforms. In this study, Landform Planation Index(LPI), a new terrain derivative, was proposed to quantify the characteristics of planation surface. The LPIs were calculated based on the summit surfaces formed according to the clustering results of peaks. Ten typical areas in the Ordos Platform located in the central part of the Loess Plateau of China are chosen as the test areas for investigating their planation characteristics with the LPI. The experimental results indicate that the LPI can be effectively used to quantify the characteristics of planation surfaces. In addition, the LPI can be further used to depict the patterns of spatial differentiation in the Ordos Platform. Although the present Ordos Platform area is full of the high-density gullies, its planation characteristics is found to be well preserved. Furthermore, the characteristics of the planation surfaces can also reflect the original morphology of the Ordos Platform before the loess dusts deposition process evolved in this area. The statistical results of the LPI show that there is a gradually increasing tendency along with the increasing of slope gradient of summit surface. It indicates that the characteristics of planation surfaces vary among test areas with different landforms. These findings help to deepen the understanding of planation characteristics of the loess landform and its underlying paleotopography. Results of this study can be also served as an important theoretical reference value for revealing the evolutionary process of loess landform.展开更多

We focus on a descriptive or quantitative analysis to understand the motivations and how students make use of in...This paper investigates the social networks usage by students in Abidjan city, Côte d’Ivoire. We focus on a descriptive or quantitative analysis to understand the motivations and how students make use of internet and social networks. More than six hundred forms were distributed to persons we have deemed as students. In return, we received more than 93% of the forms that have been processed. The study highlights the materials and the digital platforms that students used the most. The majority of the respondents reported to have access to the social networks in their mobile phones, with WhatsApp leading this application ranking, followed by Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Tik Tok. The survey shows that two third of our respondents are aged from 19 to 25 years old and almost half of the respondents spend daily 2 to 5 hours on digital platforms. The investigation also reveals that the main online activities are the e-commerce, chatting, information, and entertainment. The paper addresses also the online harassment of the students and it shows that more than one tenth of them have been victims of cyber-bullying. This study might be useful for governments, institutions, academia, individuals and professionals in order to communicate efficiently with a given population for a better use of social networks and to prevent students from harassment.展开更多

On the basis of CS theory, the simulation results indicate that the probability of reconstruction is high when the step of the sparsity adaptive matching pursuit algorithm is confirmed as 1. Contrastive analysis for four kinds of commonly used measurement matrices: part Hadamard, Bernoulli, Toeplitz and Circular matrix, has been conducted. The results illustrate that the part Hadamard matrix has better performance of reconstruction than the other matrices. The experimental system of the spectral compression reconstruction is mainly based on the digital micro-mirror device(DMD). The experimental results prove that CS can reconstruct sparse spectrum well under the condition of 50% sampling rate. The system error 0.0781 is obtained, which is defined by the average value of the 2-norm. Furthermore, the proposed method shows a dominant ability to discard redundancy.展开更多

An Augmented virtual environment(AVE)is concerned with the fusion of real-time video with 3D models or scenes so as to augment the virtual environment.In this paper,a new approach to establish an AVE with a wide field...An Augmented virtual environment(AVE)is concerned with the fusion of real-time video with 3D models or scenes so as to augment the virtual environment.In this paper,a new approach to establish an AVE with a wide field of view is proposed,including real-time video projection,multiple video texture fusion and 3D visualization of moving objects.A new diagonally weighted algorithm is proposed to smooth the apparent gaps within the overlapping area between the two adjacent videos.A visualization method for the location and trajectory of a moving virtual object is proposed to display the moving object and its trajectory in the 3D virtual environment.The experimental results showed that the proposed set of algorithms are able to fuse multiple real-time videos with 3D models efficiently,and the experiment runs a 3D scene containing two million triangles and six real-time videos at around 55 frames per second on a laptop with 1GB of graphics card memory.In addition,a realistic AVE with a wide field of view was created based on the Digital Earth Science Platform by fusing three videos with a complex indoor virtual scene,visualizing a moving object and drawing its trajectory in the real time.展开更多

文摘The research aims to explore the transition from monolithic Digital Experience Platforms (DXPs) to Microservices-based DXPs, addressing scalability challenges. The study systematically decomposes monolithic structures into Microservices, emphasizing business capability and subdomain decomposition. Concrete insights, challenges, and solutions encountered during this transformation process are presented. The research contributes valuable insights into the challenges and benefits of adopting Microservices in DXPs. Results highlight the importance of architectural patterns and strategic scaling dimensions for improved performance and scalability. The case study on Backbase’s Engagement Banking Platform showcases successful implementation, providing flexibility, integration, and efficient development in the evolving DXP landscape.

文摘To simulate the satellite launch mission under a general platform which could be used in a full-digital mode as well as in a semi-physical way, is an important way to certify the mission design performance as well as technical feasibilities, and it relates to complex system simulation methods such as multi-disciplinary coupling, multi-language modeling as well as interactive simulation and virtual simulation technologies. This paper introduces the design of a digital simulation platform for satellite launch mission verification.The platform has the advantages of high generality and extensibility, being easy to build up. The Functional Mockup Interface(FMI) Standard is adopted to achieve integration of multi-source models. A WebGL based 3D visual simulation tool is also adopted to implement the virtual display system which could display the rocket launch process and rocket-satellite separation with high fidelity 3D virtual scenes. A configuration tool was developed to map the 3D objects in the visual scene with simulation physical variables for complex rocket flight control mechanisms, which greatly improves the platform's generality and extensibility. Finally the real-time performance had been tested and the YL-1 launch mission was adopted to demonstrate the functions of the platform.The platform will be used to construct a digital twin system for satellite launch missions in the future.
文摘Characterized as they are by dynamic competition,cross-border operation,the network effect and oligopoly competition,digital platforms present a serious and complex monopoly problem,one that undermines competition,damages consumers’ interests,suppresses the vitality of innovation and hinders high-quality development.They should therefore be brought under stricter anti-monopoly regulation.The traditional regulatory cycle of “stricter regulation brings everything to a standstill;looser regulation brings chaos in its wake” is a chronic problem in China’s market regulation,so the anti-monopoly regulation of digital platforms needs to avoid this regulatory paradox.To address digital platforms’ two-sided markets,dynamic competition and disruptive innovation,we need to create appropriate new theories of anti-monopoly regulation by establishing the principle of positive,inclusive and prudent regulation based on the concept of modesty.In the current context,efforts to strengthen regulation do not lay undue emphasis on tighter regulation and heavier penalties,but rather focus on regulatory transformation and innovation,aiming thereby to effectively improve regulation.Good law is the premise of good governance.It is necessary to speed up the revision of the Anti-Monopoly Law to include provisions for improving digital competition rules in order to provide high-quality regulatory systems.Actively promoting efficient,inclusive and prudent regulation,fair and impartial regulation,collaborative and integrated regulation,incentive-based regulation,credit regulation and intelligent regulation on the basis of good law,along with technology-enabled regulation,is a good governance approach to realizing anti-monopoly platform regulations.

文摘Digital twin is currently undergoing a significant transformation from the conceptual and theoretical research phase to the implementation and application phase.However,a universally adaptable research and development platform for digital twin is critically needed to meet the development requirements.Specifically,a publicly accessible simulation,testing,and validation platform which can support digital twin model building,data processing,algorithm design,configuration,etc.,is urgently required for researchers.Furthermore,for developers from the industry,a lowcode development platform that can offer a customizable suite of functions such as model creation,data management,protocol configuration,and visualization is urgently needed.Meanwhile,for enterprise users,there is a lack of an application management platform that can be configured and migrated for various application scenarios,functions,and modes.Therefore,based on the system research of digital twin theories and key technologies by the authors(such as the five-dimension digital twin model,digital twin modeling and digital twin data theory,digital twin standards,and so on),a digital twin software platform reference architecture,namely make Twin,is proposed and designed,as well as its ten core functions.The workflow of the make Twin and the interaction mechanisms among its core functions are described.Finally,a digital twin application system for a chemical fiber textile shop floor(CFTS)which was developed according to make Twin,is introduced,which validates the proposed reference architecture.

文摘Planation surface, a surface that is almost flat, is a kind of low-relief landforms. Planation surface is the consequence of the denudation and planation processes under a tectonic stable condition. The quantitative expression of the characteristics of planation surface plays a key role in reconstructing and describing the evolutionary process of landforms. In this study, Landform Planation Index(LPI), a new terrain derivative, was proposed to quantify the characteristics of planation surface. The LPIs were calculated based on the summit surfaces formed according to the clustering results of peaks. Ten typical areas in the Ordos Platform located in the central part of the Loess Plateau of China are chosen as the test areas for investigating their planation characteristics with the LPI. The experimental results indicate that the LPI can be effectively used to quantify the characteristics of planation surfaces. In addition, the LPI can be further used to depict the patterns of spatial differentiation in the Ordos Platform. Although the present Ordos Platform area is full of the high-density gullies, its planation characteristics is found to be well preserved. Furthermore, the characteristics of the planation surfaces can also reflect the original morphology of the Ordos Platform before the loess dusts deposition process evolved in this area. The statistical results of the LPI show that there is a gradually increasing tendency along with the increasing of slope gradient of summit surface. It indicates that the characteristics of planation surfaces vary among test areas with different landforms. These findings help to deepen the understanding of planation characteristics of the loess landform and its underlying paleotopography. Results of this study can be also served as an important theoretical reference value for revealing the evolutionary process of loess landform.

文摘As the profundity of open-pit mining operations has increased,so has the frequency of geological disasters.The complex interaction of factors causing these disasters presents technical challenges for early warning and control systems.However,emergent technologies such as the internet,5G networks,and artificial intelligence provide new opportunities for constructing integrated digital early warning platforms that synthesise multifaceted monitoring data to predict and mitigate open-pit mine hazards.Using efficient Internet-mediated information integration,data from various sources can be consolidated for enhanced disaster management.This paper reviews the current state of digital early warning platforms for open-pit mines using a Web of Science database search for pertinent literature.The framework,data layer,technology layer,and application layer of these platforms are investigated in order to identify associated technologies and obstacles.Important results include:(1)Inconsistent data formats and monitoring software diminish platform workflow efficiency.Robust data exchange protocols and feature-rich software could increase efficiency.(2)Platforms rely on limited data types as opposed to intelligent algorithms that integrate diverse monitoring inputs into global disaster predictions.The underutilization of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence,the internet of things,and cloud computing.Mining calamity mechanisms and rock mechanics require additional study.

What may come as a general challenge is the "performance" amateurs who have the devices, the will but not the skills to become reliable communicators. Good training and an expanded concern for the accuracy of messages should distinguish between fact and fiction, and between information and opinion. The smart phone, the iPod, the lap top, or the tablet has expanded the means of communication. They have also diversified the types of messages circulated. The traditional main stream media outlets are facing a mounting competition from the social networks populated with the folk journalists, albeit, and non-professionals. Basic training of all those willing to come into the communication ring and regulations may concern not only the professionals but also the amateurs, and it may be ways to get over what seems to be a deadlock.
文摘This paper investigates the social networks usage by students in Abidjan city, Côte d’Ivoire. We focus on a descriptive or quantitative analysis to understand the motivations and how students make use of internet and social networks. More than six hundred forms were distributed to persons we have deemed as students. In return, we received more than 93% of the forms that have been processed. The study highlights the materials and the digital platforms that students used the most. The majority of the respondents reported to have access to the social networks in their mobile phones, with WhatsApp leading this application ranking, followed by Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Tik Tok. The survey shows that two third of our respondents are aged from 19 to 25 years old and almost half of the respondents spend daily 2 to 5 hours on digital platforms. The investigation also reveals that the main online activities are the e-commerce, chatting, information, and entertainment. The paper addresses also the online harassment of the students and it shows that more than one tenth of them have been victims of cyber-bullying. This study might be useful for governments, institutions, academia, individuals and professionals in order to communicate efficiently with a given population for a better use of social networks and to prevent students from harassment.

文摘Distributed power flow controller,which is among the most powerful distributed flexible transmission equipments,is still only in the stage of the oretical research and digital simulation.In order to promote the engineering demonstration of a distributed power flow controller,it is urgent to establish a digital/analog simulation platform that supports closed-loop real-time simulation of a distributed power flow controller.In this paper,the electromagnetic transient model of a distributed power flow controller is established on ADPSS(advanced digital power system simulator).The rapid control prototype realized by dSPACE is connected to ADPSS to form a digital/analog simulation platform for a distributed power flow controller.Through a voltage control and power flow control simulation of the test system with a distributed power flow controller,the correctness and effectiveness of the constructed simulation platform are verified,which provides a new way for the verification of the new theory of a distributed power flow controller.

文摘Based on the experience of the International Society for Digital Earth(ISDE),this paper describes some challenges foreseen in order to develop a Digital Earth platform that can support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.The use of ready-to-use derived geospatial information is essential.Future Earth’s methodology of‘co-design’aims to bring together natural,social scientists and decision makers to plan and carry out research for sustainability.Sustainability implies transdisciplinary research,but in order for scientists of different disciplines to work together,they will need to be able to share,access and use common data.This is by far not simple!While the good will to share data might exist,the associated technological,ethical and privacy issues are difficult to solve.An adequate e-infrastructure will be required.ISDE could consider to use the SDGs is the basis to develop the desired Digital Earth platform.This paper,by no means,covers everything for a Digital Earth platform,it aims to trigger research discussions and to have a good view about a starting point.

文摘A new method which employs compressive sensing(CS) to reconstruct the sparse spectrum is designed and experimentally demonstrated. On the basis of CS theory, the simulation results indicate that the probability of reconstruction is high when the step of the sparsity adaptive matching pursuit algorithm is confirmed as 1. Contrastive analysis for four kinds of commonly used measurement matrices: part Hadamard, Bernoulli, Toeplitz and Circular matrix, has been conducted. The results illustrate that the part Hadamard matrix has better performance of reconstruction than the other matrices. The experimental system of the spectral compression reconstruction is mainly based on the digital micro-mirror device(DMD). The experimental results prove that CS can reconstruct sparse spectrum well under the condition of 50% sampling rate. The system error 0.0781 is obtained, which is defined by the average value of the 2-norm. Furthermore, the proposed method shows a dominant ability to discard redundancy.
文摘Offshore engineering projects require the management of a huge amount of heterogeneous georeferenced data-among others metocean,geophysical,geotechnical,and environmental,which need a Data Model,data visualization and data analytics features on a common geographic basis.A Digital Data Platform(DDP)has been developed on a GIS ambient with the aim to speed up the engineering design process(i.e.minimization of routine operations),and also prevent misalignment of the data originating from different sources from Owner to Suppliers and any potential loss of information.The proposed GIS architecture is composed by two main components:i)the Data Model geodatabase,and ii)the GIS-Model Toolbar add-in.The proposed development represents a step forward on the definition of a common specification and dictionary for offshore project execution overcoming the current bottlenecking and inefficiency on the design phases between the project owner and the engineering contractor.The paper illustrates“what”and“how”,and in particular:i)the geodatabase and Data Model framework,ii)the required parameters to be organized and stored for offshore engineering design,and iii)the widgets implementation(i.e.GIS-based tools).Its application on a case study project with practical examples is presented.

文摘An Augmented virtual environment(AVE)is concerned with the fusion of real-time video with 3D models or scenes so as to augment the virtual environment.In this paper,a new approach to establish an AVE with a wide field of view is proposed,including real-time video projection,multiple video texture fusion and 3D visualization of moving objects.A new diagonally weighted algorithm is proposed to smooth the apparent gaps within the overlapping area between the two adjacent videos.A visualization method for the location and trajectory of a moving virtual object is proposed to display the moving object and its trajectory in the 3D virtual environment.The experimental results showed that the proposed set of algorithms are able to fuse multiple real-time videos with 3D models efficiently,and the experiment runs a 3D scene containing two million triangles and six real-time videos at around 55 frames per second on a laptop with 1GB of graphics card memory.In addition,a realistic AVE with a wide field of view was created based on the Digital Earth Science Platform by fusing three videos with a complex indoor virtual scene,visualizing a moving object and drawing its trajectory in the real time.
