This paper aims to examine the impact of digital transformations on the business performance of the meetings,expositions,events,and conventions(MEEC)industry in Chengdu by conducting an empirical analysis of 68 MEEC e...This paper aims to examine the impact of digital transformations on the business performance of the meetings,expositions,events,and conventions(MEEC)industry in Chengdu by conducting an empirical analysis of 68 MEEC enterprises in the city.The study employed the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA)method to explore the pathways and factors involved.Drawing on the theory of synergetics,nine condition variables were carefully selected from four dimensions:digital technologies,digital strategy,digital infrastructure,and digital innovation.The findings revealed that digital transformations were an intricate systematic process,whereby a single factor alone did not serve as a necessary condition for MEEC enterprises to achieve high business performance.The analysis identified five distinct pathways that would lead to high performance,which can be categorized into three distinct models:the“organization-human resources”dominated model,the“human resources-infrastructure”driven model,and the multi-factor coordination model.The analysis also identified two pathways that would result in low performance,categorized as the“basic condition absent”model.Notably,there was substantial heterogeneity observed in the configurational pathways in terms of the magnitude of the impact of digital transformation on business performance across MEEC enterprises of different sizes.This paper suggests that the government should assume the role of a platform,providing policy and financial support to MEEC enterprises to help guide them through the process of digital transformation and that MEEC enterprises themselves should seize the opportunities arising from digital transformation to strengthen their digital infrastructure construction,human resources development,and innovation in brand building.This study presents empirical evidence that contributes to the understanding of the transformation process of MEEC enterprises within the digital economy era,as well as valuable insights into understanding the channels and internal conditions involved in digital transformations.展开更多

China’s state-owned enterprises(SOEs)are facing an embedded integration of new functional mission,new classification reform and new digital development.These new tasks require SOEs to embrace digital strategic transf...China’s state-owned enterprises(SOEs)are facing an embedded integration of new functional mission,new classification reform and new digital development.These new tasks require SOEs to embrace digital strategic transformation and innovation for high-quality fulfillment of their national mission.Studying their digital transformation practices,this paper systematically explores the mechanism and path of embedding national mission into SOE digital transformation,and the mode selection of SOE digital transformation under different mission guidance.The findings are:(1)The SOE functional mission focusing on economic development,strategic support and public services in the new era is undertaken by for-profit,strategic and public functional SOEs;(2)the foreign circulation path based on the positioning mechanism-mapping mechanism and the internal consumption connection path for the state capital strategic positioning constitute a double twoway mechanism of embedding the national mission to the SOE digital strategic transformation,leading SOEs to build market-oriented,capacity-oriented and public-oriented digital transformation modes;(3)the three types of reform modes have respectively produced the action mechanism featuring agile strengthening,toughness strengthening and adaptability strengthening,which support the SOE classification performance.This paper attempts to make up for the research gap such as the lack of integration of the SOE digital strategic transformation mode by constructing the theoretical mode of SOE digital strategic transformation under the guidance of national mission,and reveals the intermediary mechanism of digital strategic transformation to support SOEs for fulfilling their functional missions.展开更多

As a result, adapting to the digital age has become a necessity for their survival. This paper discusses the development path and related countermeasures of the digital transformation of tourism enterprises. In the literature review, the concept and significance of digitalization, industrial transformation and tourism digital transformation are analyzed. In the description of the evaluation index selection, the evaluation index of the digital development level of the tourism enterprises is determined, and the evaluation method of the entropy value method and the grey relative correlation degree analysis are introduced. Through data calculation and result analysis, the digital level and contribution of China’s tourism industry is evaluated. In the restriction analysis, the paper focuses on the constraints of online tourism, sustainable development, infrastructure, development potential and information technology level. Finally, the key measures to strengthen customer demand insight, strengthen the construction of information technology infrastructure, promote the application and innovation of new technologies, and strengthen the development of social responsibility projects are put forward in the path selection and countermeasures. In the context of low and middling oil prices weakening the profitability of oil and gas companies, increasing competition for alternative energy sources and accelerating energy transformation, there is great potential for promoting the digital transformation of the oil and gas industry. Rebuilding competitiveness through digital transformation is increasingly becoming the consensus in the industry. In such a situation, informatization and its new technologies are driving the significant reforming of manufacturing patterns, marketing patterns, management and decision-making patterns. Intelligent development is the inevitable choice for the transformation and upgrading of oil refining and petrochemical industry. Digital transformation provides companies with a productive approach to transforming and upgrading enterprise resources and capabilities and to exploiting external subject forces to unleash and magnify their potential...Digital transformation provides companies with a productive approach to transforming and upgrading enterprise resources and capabilities and to exploiting external subject forces to unleash and magnify their potential,thus advancing high-quality enterprise development.Therefore,using regression analysis of the data of China’s non-financial listed firms from 2007‒2019 obtained by Python,this paper finds that digital transformation has enormously improved enterprise performance.Furthermore,digital transformation has powerfully boosted supply chain integration,which has played a mediation role in the impact of digital transformation on enterprise performance.Finally,entrepreneurship plays a positive moderating effect on enterprise performance through supply chain integration during digital transformation.The further heterogeneity analysis finds that digital transformation performs better in large,public,state-owned,mature,and non-manufacturing(service industry)enterprises.However,the positive effect of digital transformation on enterprise performance and supply chain integration is not significant in small and medium-sized enterprises.Therefore,supply chain integration cannot play a mediating role in the impact of digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises upon their performance.This paper probes the realization mechanism and micro-foundation of digital transformation,and its conclusion contributes to high-quality digital transformation.展开更多
An important proposition needed in-depth research is how digital technology empowers the green transformation of the manufacturing industry.This paper empirically finds that digital empowerment can boost the green tra...An important proposition needed in-depth research is how digital technology empowers the green transformation of the manufacturing industry.This paper empirically finds that digital empowerment can boost the green transformation of enterprises,the conclusion of which stands valid under all kinds of robustness tests.Moreover,such boosting is heterogeneous and exists in industries with different energy consumption intensities.In addition,digital empowerment has a positive spillover effect on the green transformation ofupstream and downstream enterprises along industrial chains.From the specific mechanism of action,digital empowerment mainly drives the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises through scale and technology effects.The green transformationis significantly positively affected by digital empowerment.Compared with digital empowerment driven by domestic digital sources,the one built on foreign digital sourceshas a more profound influence on the green transformation of the manufacturing industry,although the green transformation is significantly positively affected bydigital empowerment.The differences above may stem from the gap in the development of digital technology at home and abroad.This judgment has been further confirmed in the heterogeneity analysis on regions with different levels of economic development and factor-intensive manufacturing industries.This means that in the new round of technological competition,China should be alert to the potential impact brought by the development gap of domestic and global digital technologies.This paper helps to expand and deepen the understanding of the factors affecting the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises.It also brings important policy implications to the following aspects:the method of seizing strategic opportunities brought by digital technology,the first-mover advantage built on open integration and innovation,the narrowing of the gap with foreign digital development levels,and the stabilization of digital empowerment basis for the green transformation oftheemanufacturing industry.展开更多
