An Interactive Model for Analyzing the Development of the Communication Discipline： Israel as a Case Study

Our paper presents an interactive four-dimensional model for studying the long- and short-term development of the communication discipline with Israel serving as a case study： institutional-contextual, institutional-in-field, intellectual-contextual, and intellectual-in-field. Our empirical analysis utilized personal interviews, archive documents, and statistical data. Four main processes were discerned： transition from integration to alienation between institutions of higher learning and the larger political and ideological context; a shift from Hebrew University Institute of Communication＇s institutional monopoly to a multiplicity of increasingly competitive communication schools/departments; transition from intellectual hegemony to limited intellectual diversity; and gradually improving status for the communication field among social science disciplines. Our case-study analysis validated the interactive relationship among the model＇s conceptual dimensions, calling for future cross-national comparisons.

A DELIBERATION ON SCIENCE DEVELOPMENT IN CHINA AND ON THE READJUSTMENT OF CONSTITUTIONAL DISCIPLINES IN THE CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

The CAS, as a national comprehensive research and development (R&D) center for natural science and high technology with numerous researchers of a high quality in almost all disciplines, plays a decisive role in the development of this country’s science and technology. Based on the trend of China’s development in the period of its Ninth Five-Year Plan and in the next century, this article analyzes the trends of science and technology of China in combination with the current readjustment in the constitution of science disciplines in the CAS.

Reflections on disciplinary development of traditional Chinese medicine universities in the“post-epidemic era”

In this coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic prevention and control battle,Chinese medicine has demonstrated the unique advantages of Chinese medicine and has made important contributions to global epidemic prevention and control.At the same time,the epidemic is also a concentrated test of the medical education system of Chinese medicine.There are insufficient public health and integrated Chinese and western medicine talents in the discipline development of Chinese medicine colleges,and the ability of Chinese medicine to prevent and treat infectious diseases needs to be improved.Infectious disease discipline system is not perfect and many other problems.This article puts forward new thoughts and suggestions on the problems and challenges existing in the discipline development of traditional Chinese medicine schools,and provides countermeasures and references for the next discipline development of traditional Chinese medicine schools in the“post-epidemic era”.

本文根据国家关于推动疾病预防控制事业高质量发展指导意见的要求,结合上海市疾病预防控制体系现代化建设进展与经验,总结了近年来上海区级疾控机构的建设成效,并结合当前超大城市疾病预防控制各项任务需求与下阶段疾控事业发展目标要求,梳理作为直辖市和超大城市基层疾控机构建设发展所面临的紧迫问题。在监测预警、检验检测、应急处置、信息化建设、学科人才发展和区域协同联动等方面对加强区级疾控机构建设,推进区域疾控体系同质化、一体化发展提出若干思考和建议,为下阶段做好推动落实疾病预防控制高质量发展各项任务,以及各地相关政策规划的制定提供参考。

Progress in international geopolitical research from 1996 to 2015

Focusing on international relations from the perspective of geography, geopolitics exerts powerful influences on the course of economic and political development in the world. In the tide of globalization and information technology, geopolitics has become an important subject for global pattern interpretation and policy making. It is essentially important to have a scientific and systematic review on international geopolitics to promote its development. Based on the bibliometric statistics, the paper reviews the research development of geopolitics on the Web of Science from 1996 to 2015. The history, journals, papers and key research areas of geopolitics have been revealed in the paper. By the analysis of bibliometric statistics, the number of papers recently published in the journals of political geography and related geography journals continues to increase. The key areas of geopolitical papers which are globally highly cited include geopolitical interpretation of the countries and borders, critical geopolitics, emotional geopolitics, feminist geopolitics and other topics. Before the year of 2000, the state and borders were hot topics of the geopolitical research. Yet since 2000, it has been the trend that the geopolitics is increasingly set in the context of geographical implications. At the same time, critical geopolitics appears to be the main area of geopolitical research, especially transitioning from traditional geopolitics towards the humanism-embeddedness(such as emotional geopolitics, feminist geopolitics). The paper then systematically reviews the branch trends of geopolitical research, including the borders and the territory, global geo-culture and geo-economics, Chinese models of geopolitics, resource conflicts and ecological politics, as well as emotional geopolitics. Finally, it puts forward the implication that Chinese geopolitical studies should reinforce the importance of geographical space and scale, use the process of description and multiple methods, as well as integrate humanistic thoughts, in order to further enrich the theories and practices of geopolitical research.

Educational philosophy in China during the 20th century started with the introduction of John Dewey’s educational philosophy thoughts,followed by the dissemination of Marxism thoughts of education,and initially established the framework of educational philosophy as an academic discipline.After the foundation of the People’s Republic of China in 1949,especially during the 1980s,under the guidance of Marxism,the discipline of educational philosophy has been maturing.While exploring China’s history of educational philosophy,this article also covers contemporary Western development.Future trends of this discipline include extending specific fields of research,increasing internationalization of research,enhancing the functions of both critique and guiding ideals of educational philosophy.
