As a cross-lingual, cross-cultural, cross-time-and-space communication, religious translation has inevitably been stamped, from the very beginning, with the brand of ideology and has, more or less, been restrained by political factors there and then. The translated version, very often, cannot truly mirror the essence of the source text mainly because translation is manipulated by the power discourse in the target culture.

Power as Resource-Power as Discourse: An Overview Evaluation of the Key-Factors of “Wind Farms” and “Riparian Rights” as Sources of Power

Nowadays, the concept of power can illuminate the nature of contestation. Indeed, it is apparent that discourse coalitions exist both within the wind sector and the riparian corridors management. In the present study, a theoretical framework for policy power analysis is presented, while a balanced European and national energy policies representation reveals the positive and negative impacts, towards which both the above two power sources may be attributed. The “power” holistic approach is mainly determined in a wider social-economic, political, and environmental framework. This multidimensional and holistic approach is considered invaluable for humans/consumers, in order them to determine their capacities, priorities and perspectives for viable use of power within the above complex-structured framework. Finally, the study adopts a balanced reassessment of the existing policies, offering tentative proposals for reducing conflicts.

The Influence of Medialization to Legal Discourse Concerning Context, Media and Social Power

Medialization has become like digitalization, rationalization, dynamization, globalization, pluralization, hybridization, and differentialization and is one of the buzzwords of modern Western industrialized societies, which are all together essentially responsible for structural change in communication. Medialization means the adaption of producers to media logics, media formats, and media routines ＆ workflows. There are consequently and logically influences because of the dynamic process of medialization to legal discourse and genres, law, media, and social power. It has to be discussed if the logics, data formats, and routines ＆ workflows of new media and information and communication technologies （ICTs） like social media are creating also a new generation of genres and novel form of legal discourses. Also, if social media will replace or complete old classic media （law of Riepl）, the question of the relevance of law concerning new ＆ social media has to be answered in close future. Lastly, if to the fore of social power, these new novel resources are actually framing for problem-based inquiries in law. There are big chances but also serious risks in cyberworld, their realities, and dangers. There actually exists an urgent call of action to theory building, development of methodologies, and empirical research.

Exploration and Analysis on the Discourse Power of Network Moral Education

Network moral education has three connotations including discourse right,discourse power and discourse effectiveness,and four characteristics including interactivity,diversity,symbolism and implicity.These characteristics to a certain extent make the position and function between the subject and object of network education change,resulting in the discourse power and discourse effectiveness out of sync.Therefore,when solving these problems,we should take the ideological beliefs as the leading point,use the new media technology means,take the discourse power construction as the starting point,occupy the discourse highland and manifest the representation.At the same time,we should take life practice as the standard,change the discourse,break the implicity,and put the initiative of network moral education in the hands of educators.

Aiming at finding out some typical features of classroom discourse of the CE classrooms in China context so as to be of assistance to college English majors and their teachers, the present study, by following a four-part process of Recording, Viewing, Transcribing and Analyzing, has made some detailed study on the classroom discourse of several top-quality Comprehensive English classes. And finally, the features of those selected top-quality CE classes and their implications can be described in this paper.

A Study of Power in English Corporate E-mails： A Discourse Approach

Nowadays, the e-mail exchange has been prevailing all over the world. Nevertheless, studies on power exercised and enacted in e-mail communication within a corporation can hardly be found at home. The present study, based on the theoretical framework of power＆ solidarity and politeness systems （Scollon,R and Scollon, S.W. 2000）, is made with an attempt to explore the power relations in e-mail exchange among staffof＂upper-lower＂ ranks within multinational corporations in China. The study shows that, in modern multinational corporations, power is an underlying force. To mask and mystify power, we need to resort to a range of linguistic strategies such as the use of relative modality, inclusive pronoun ＂we/our＂, the selection of informal words and the preferred FN （first names） forms of addressing.

The Pragmatic Analysis on Discourse Power in Courtroom

Courtroom discourse is a typical institutional discourse, which reflects the complicated discourse purpose among the participants in courtroom, with several characteristics such as: asymmetry of power relation, complex directions of communication and complex meaning of utterance. Although courtroom discourse is restricted by special procedures or rules, it is still under the control of the cooperative principle and politeness principle. In order to achieve goals, the participants are bound to obey or violate the cooperative principle and politeness principle. This paper is based on the pragmatic theory, switching trial audio into words, trying to find out the purposes why the participants are liable to flout cooperative principle and use politeness and impoliteness strategies, in order to further explore the discourse power in courtroom. This essay not only broaden the perspective of pragmatic research, but reveal the communicative goal in terms of power relation. It will conducive to grasp the interaction conversation, so as to guarantee the fairness of court trial.

Study of the Effect of Using Power Point in an English Class

This action research aims to work out whether the effect of using powerpoint in an English class is positive or not.This research is carried out through the researcher’s lessons to a class of 45 students,experienced teachers and a philosophy teacher after previous meeting with the researcher are invited to observe the lessons with observation forms,questionnaires are completed by the students in the class and after class discussions.The conclusion from this action research is that in the context of the time and place when research is made,the Effect of Using Power Point in an English class is positive.

The Three-dimensional Model of “ConstructionTranslation-Communication” for the Construction of a Human Rights Discourse System with Chinese Characteristics in the Post-pandemic Era

Human rights have always been the focus of disputes between China and the West. To make a better China story about human rights and enhance China’s international discourse power in the field of human rights, we propose the text construction, translation and communication path of the construction of the human rights discourse system with Chinese characteristics from the cross-disciplinary perspective. Based on the examples of prevention and control of the CoVID-19 pandemic under the concept of putting people first, mainstream diplomatic linguistic data relevant to the fight against the novel coronavirus was collected through the internet. The human rights discourse with Chinese characteristics is constructed through a variety of texts focusing on putting the people first, the right to life, the right to health, the right to information, the right to privacy, the right to work and a sense of a community with a shared future for human beings. The core concepts of human rights have experienced the deepening process of decontextualization, abstraction and theorization to gradually conform to the expression habits of international audiences. The international communication effect is mainly positive in civil society. It shows that the construction of China’s human rights discourse system and the governance of international human rights discourse have achieved preliminary results. To enhance China’s discourse power on human rights, we need to add an interdisciplinary approach.

Analysis of the third harmonic for class-F power amplifiers with an Ⅰ–Ⅴ knee effect

The appearance of third-generation semiconductors represented by gallium nitride （GaN） material greatly improves the output power of a power amplifier （PA）, but the efficiency of the PA needs to be further improved. The Class-F PA reduces the overlap of drain voltage and current by tuning harmonic impedance so that high efficiency is achieved. This paper begins with the principle of class-F PA, regards the third harmonic voltage as an independent variable, analyzes the influence of the third harmonic on fundamental, and points out how drain efficiency and output power vary with the third harmonic voltage with an I-V knee effect. Finally, the best third harmonic impedance is found mathematically. We compare our results with the Loadpull technique in advanced design system environment and conclude that an optimized third harmonic impedance is open in an ideal case, while it is not at an open point with the I-V knee effect, and the drain efficiency with optimized third harmonic impedance is 4% higher than that with the third harmonic open.

An Analysis of Senior High School English Teacher's Classroom Discourse: from the Perspective of CDA

The study of the English teachers' language in the L2 classrooms is a very important branch of discourse analysis. However, up till now, much of the research conducted has focused on the linguistic features of teachers' classroom discourse. In present study, a critical point of view is adopted to analyze the social and cultural aspects of the classroom discourse. With the help of CDA (critical discourse analy sis), the relationship between language, power and ideology is deeply explored.

The exponentiated generalized power Lindley distribution: Properties and applications

In this paper, we introduce a new extension of the power Lindley distribution, called the exponentiated generalized power Lindley distribution. Several mathematical properties of the new model such as the shapes of the density and hazard rate functions, the quantile function, moments, mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz curves and order statistics are derived. Moreover, we discuss the parameter estimation of the new distribution using the maximum likelihood and diagonally weighted least squares methods. A simulation study is performed to evaluate the estimators. We use two real data sets to illustrate the applicability of the new model. Empirical findings show that the proposed model provides better fits than some other well-known extensions of Lindley distributions.

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF POWER SAVING CLASS OF TYPE Ⅲ IN IEEE 802.16E WITH USER INITIATED TRAFFIC

A novel method for analysing the performance of power saving class of Type III in IEEE 802.16e is proposed, which is applicable to design, maintenance and management for mobile wireless metropolitan area network. Considering the memoryless nature of user initiated packet arrival, a Geom/G/1 queue model with multiple vacations and setup period is built to capture the principle for the power saving class of Type III. By using an embedded Markov chain method and the boundary state variable theory, we obtain the queueing measures such as queueing length, waiting time and busy cycle in steady state. Correspondingly, we derive explicitly the performance measures for the power saving class of Type III in terms of handover ratio, energy saving ratio, and average packet response time. Based on numerical results, we develop a cost function to determine numerically the optimal length of sleep window and the minimal cost with different offered loads.

Zooplankton community size-structure change and mesh size selection under the thermal stress caused by a power plant in a semi-enclosed bay

Zooplankton samples were collected using 505, 160 and 77 μm mesh nets around a power plant during four seasons in 2011. We measured total length of zooplankton and divided zooplankton into seven size classes in order to explore how zooplankton community size-structure might be altered by thermal discharge from power plant. The total length of zooplankton varied from 93.7 to 40 074.7 μm. The spatial distribution of mesozooplankton(200-2 000 μm) populations were rarely affected by thermal discharge, while macro-(2 000-10 000 μm)and megalo-zooplankton(>10 000 μm) had an obvious tendency to migrate away from the outfall of power plant.Thus, zooplankton community tended to become smaller and biodiversity reduced close to power plant.Moreover, we compared the zooplankton communities in three different mesh size nets. Species richness,abundance, evenness index and Shannon-Wiener diversity index of the 505 μm mesh size were significantly lower than those recorded from the 160 and 77 μm mesh size. Average zooplankton abundance was highest in the 77 μm mesh net((27 690.0±1 633.7) ind./m^3), followed by 160 μm mesh net((9 531.1±1 079.5) ind./m^3), and lowest in 505 μm mesh net((494.4±104.7) ind./m^3). The ANOSIM and SIMPER tests confirmed that these differences were mainly due to small zooplankton and early developmental stages of zooplankton. It is the first time to use the 77 μm mesh net to sample zooplankton in such an environment. The 77 μm mesh net had the overwhelming abundance of the copepod genus Oithona, as an order of magnitude greater than recorded for 160 μm mesh net and 100% loss through the 505 μm mesh net. These results indicate that the use of a small or even multiple sampling net is necessary to accurately quantify entire zooplankton community around coastal power plant.
