Seismic events in a remote location, specifically in the absence of seismic and GNSS networks, can be investigated effectively using the In SAR-based technique. This study adopts the Differential Interferometric SAR(DIn SAR) technique to quantify the co-seismic surface displacement caused by the June 21, 2022, Khōst M_(W)6 earthquake that occurred along the western plate boundary between the Indian and Eurasian plate. The interferograms show that the maximum surface deformation occurred on the northwest and southwest of the fault line. From coherence, the Line of Sight(LOS) displacement, and the co-seismic surface displacement analysis, it has been observed that surface deformation was most pronounced in the southwest region of the fault line, and the surface has moved to the opposite direction along the fault line, which indicates a sinistral slightly oblique strike-slip movement. This In SAR-based observation appears consistent with the seismic waveforms derived from co-seismic surface displacements. Further, it has been argued that the slip deficit accumulated during the period of the last about 48 years along the frontal region of the northward extension of the Suleiman range and associated fault zone is qualitatively estimated at about 1.5 m, which is consistent with the seismic waveforms derived finite slip model.展开更多

However, radiation effect significantly changes its properties, which affect its behavior and the lifespan of the reactor. The threshold energy of displacement is an important quantity of the number of radiation defects produced, which helps us to predict the evolution of radiation defects in ZrH_(2).Molecular dynamics(MD) and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD) are two main methods of calculating the threshold energy of displacement. The MD simulations with empirical potentials often cannot accurately depict the transitional states that lattice atoms must surpass to reach an interstitial state. Additionally, the AIMD method is unable to perform largescale calculation, which poses a computational challenge beyond the simulation range of density functional theory. Machine learning potentials are renowned for their high accuracy and efficiency, making them an increasingly preferred choice for molecular dynamics simulations. In this work, we develop an accurate potential energy model for the ZrH_(2) system by using the deep-potential(DP) method. The DP model has a high degree of agreement with first-principles calculations for the typical defect energy and mechanical properties of the ZrH_(2) system, including the basic bulk properties, formation energy of point defects, as well as diffusion behavior of hydrogen and zirconium. By integrating the DP model with Ziegler–Biersack–Littmark(ZBL) potential, we can predict the threshold energy of displacement of zirconium and hydrogen in ε-ZrH_(2).展开更多

There are three sub-cases of basal detachment for the rigid body model: horizontal detachment, antithetic detachment and synthetic detachment. For the rigid body model, the established equations indicate that the total displacement on the synthetic base (Dt2) is the largest, that on the horizontal base (Dt1) is moderate, and that on the antithetic base (Dt3) is the smallest. On the other hand, the value of (Dt1) is larger than the displacement for the vertical shear (Dt4). The value of (Dt1) is larger than or less than the displacement for the inclined shear (Dt5) depending on the original fault dip δ0, bedding angle θ, and the angle of shear direction β. For all original parameters, the value of Dt5 is less than the value of Dt4. Also, by comparing three rotation mechanisms, we find that the inclined shear produces largest extension, the rigid body model with horizontal detachment produces the smallest extension, and the vertical shear model produces moderate extension.展开更多

文摘In the actual monitoring of deep hole displacement, the identification of slip surfaces is primarily based on abrupt changes observed in the inclinometric curve. In conventional identification methods, inclinometric curves exhibiting indications of sliding can be categorized into three types:B-type,D-type,and r-type.The position of the slip surface is typically determined by identifying the depth corresponding to the point of maximum displacement mutation. However, this method is sensitive to the interval of measurement points and the observation scale of the coordinate axes and suffers from unclear sliding surfaces and uncertain values.Based on the variation characteristics of these diagonal curves,we classified the landslide into three components:the sliding body, the sliding interval, and the immobile body. Moreover, three different generalization models were established to analyze the relationships between the curve form and the slip surface location based on different physical indicators such as displacement rate, relative displacement, and acceleration. The results show that the displacement rate curves of an r-type slope exhibit a clustering feature in the sliding interval, and by solving for the depth of discrete points within the step phase,it is possible to determine the location of the slip surface. On the other hand,D-type slopes have inflection points in the relative displacement curve located at the slip surface. The acceleration curves of B-type slopes exhibit clustering characteristics during the sliding interval, while the scattered acceleration data demonstrate wandering characteristics.Consequently, the slip surface location can be revealed by solving the depth corresponding to the maximum acceleration with cubic spline interpolation. The approach proposed in this paper was applied to the monitoring data of a landslide in Yunnan Province,China. The results indicate that our approach can accurately identify the slip surface location and enable computability of its position, thereby enhancing applicability and reliability of the deep-hole displacement monitoring data.

文摘The tunnel subjected to strike-slip fault dislocation exhibits severe and catastrophic damage. The existing analysis models frequently assume uniform fault displacement and fixed fault plane position. In contrast,post-earthquake observations indicate that the displacement near the fault zone is typically nonuniform, and the fault plane position is uncertain. In this study,we first established a series of improved governing equations to analyze the mechanical response of tunnels under strike-slip fault dislocation. The proposed methodology incorporated key factors such as nonuniform fault displacement and uncertain fault plane position into the governing equations, thereby significantly enhancing the applicability range and accuracy of the model. In contrast to previous analytical models, the maximum computational error has decreased from 57.1%to 1.1%.Subsequently,we conducted a rigorous validation of the proposed methodology by undertaking a comparative analysis with a 3D finite element numerical model, and the results from both approaches exhibited a high degree of qualitative and quantitative agreement with a maximum error of 9.9%.Finally,the proposed methodology was utilized to perform a parametric analysis to explore the effects of various parameters, such as fault displacement, fault zone width, fault zone strength, the ratio of maximum fault displacement of the hanging wall to the footwall, and fault plane position,on the response of tunnels subjected to strike-slip fault dislocation. The findings indicate a progressive increase in the peak internal forces of the tunnel with the rise in fault displacement and fault zone strength.Conversely,an augmentation in fault zone width is found to contribute to a decrease in the peak internal forces. For example, for a fault zone width of 10 m,the peak values of bending moment, shear force, and axial force are approximately 46.9%,102.4%,and 28.7% higher, respectively, compared to those observed for a fault zone width of 50 m.Furthermore, the position of the peak internal forces is influenced by variations in the ratio of maximum fault displacement of the hanging wall to footwall and the fault plane location, while the peak values of shear force and axial force always align with the fault plane. The maximum peak internal forces are observed when the footwall exclusively bears the entirety of the fault displacement, corresponding to a ratio of 0:1.The peak values of bending moment, shear force, and axial force for the ratio of 0:1 amount to approximately 123.8%,148.6%,and 111.1% of those for the ratio of 0.5:0.5,respectively.

文摘Seismic prediction of cracks is of great significance in many disciplines, for which the rock physics model is indispensable. However,up to now, multitudinous analytical models focus primarily on the cracked rock with the isotropic background, while the explicit model for the cracked rock with the anisotropic background is rarely investigated in spite of such case being often encountered in the earth.Hence,we first studied dependences of the crack opening displacement tensors on the crack dip angle in the coordinate systems formed by symmetry planes of the crack and the background anisotropy, respectively,by forty groups of numerical experiments.Based on the conclusion from the experiments, the analytical solution was derived for the effective elastic properties of the rock with the inclined penny-shaped cracks in the transversely isotropic background.Further,we comprehensively analyzed, according to the developed model, effects of the crack dip angle, background anisotropy, filling fluid and crack density on the effective elastic properties of the cracked rock. The analysis results indicate that the dip angle and background anisotropy can significantly either enhance or weaken the anisotropy degrees of the P-and SH-wave velocities, whereas they have relatively small effects on the SV-wave velocity anisotropy. Moreover, the filling fluid can increase the stiffness coefficients related to the compressional modulus by reducing crack compliance parameters, while its effects on shear coefficients depend on the crack dip angle. The increasing crack density reduces velocities of the dry rock, and decreasing rates of the velocities are affected by the crack dip angle.By comparing with exact numerical results and experimental data,it was demonstrated that the proposed model can achieve high-precision estimations of stiffness coefficients. Moreover, the assumption of the weakly anisotropic background results in the consistency between the proposed model and Hudson's published theory for the orthorhombic rock.

文摘Zirconium hydride(ZrH_(2)) is an ideal neutron moderator material. By integrating the DP model with Ziegler–Biersack–Littmark(ZBL) potential, we can predict the threshold energy of displacement of zirconium and hydrogen in ε-ZrH_(2).
文摘The estimation of residual displacements in a structure due to an anticipated earthquake event has increasingly become an important component of performance-based earthquake engineering because controlling these displacements plays an important role in ensuring cost-feasible or cost-effective repairs in a damaged structure after the event. An attempt is made in this study to obtain statistical estimates of constant-ductility residual displacement spectra for bilinear and pinching oscillators with 5%initial damping, directly in terms of easily available seismological, site, and model parameters.None of the available models for the bilinear and pinching oscillators are useful when design spectra for a seismic hazard at a site are not available. The statistical estimates of a residual displacement spectrum are proposed in terms of earthquake magnitude, epicentral distance, site geology parameter, and three model parameters for a given set of ductility demand and a hysteretic energy capacity coefficient in the case of bilinear and pinching models,as well as for a given set of pinching parameters for displacement and strength at the breakpoint in the case of pinching model alone. The proposed scaling model is applicable to horizontal ground motions in the western U.S.for earthquake magnitudes less than 7 or epicentral distances greater than 20 km.

文摘This research is concentrated on the longitudinal vibration of a tapered pipe pile considering the vertical support of the surrounding soil and construction disturbance.First, the pile-soil system is partitioned into finite segments in the vertical direction and the Voigt model is applied to simulate the vertical support of the surrounding soil acting on the pile segment. The surrounding soil is divided into finite ring-shaped zones in the radial direction to consider the construction disturbance. Then, the shear complex stiffness at the pile-soil interface is derived by solving the dynamic equilibrium equation for the soil from the outermost to innermost zone. The displacement impedance at the top of an arbitrary pile segment is obtained by solving the dynamic equilibrium equation for the pile and is combined with the vertical support of the surrounding soil to derive the displacement impedance at the bottom of the upper adjacent segment.Further, the displacement impedance at the pile head is obtained based on the impedance function transfer technique. Finally, the reliability of the proposed solution is verified, followed by a sensitivity analysis concerning the coupling effect of the pile parameters, construction disturbance and the vertical support of the surrounding soil on the displacement impedance of the pile.

文摘In 2023,two consecutive earthquakes exceeding a magnitude of 7 occurred in Türkiye, causing severe casualties and economic losses. The damage to critical urban infrastructure and building structures, including highways, railroads, and water supply pipelines, was particularly severe in areas where these structures intersected the seismogenic fault.Critical infrastructure projects that traverse active faults are susceptible to the influence of fault movement, pulse velocity, and ground motions. In this study,we used a unique approach to analyze the acceleration records obtained from the seismic station array(9 strong ground motion stations)located along the East Anatolian Fault(the seismogenic fault of the MW7.8 mainshock of the 2023 Türkiye earthquake doublet). The acceleration records were filtered and integrated to obtain the velocity and displacement time histories. We used the results of an on-site investigation, jointly conducted by China Earthquake Administration and Türkiye’s AFAD,to analyze the distribution of PGA,PGV,and PGD recorded by the strong motion array of the East Anatolian Fault. We found that the maximum horizontal PGA in this earthquake was 3.0 g,and the maximum co-seismic surface displacement caused by the East Anatolian Fault rupture was 6.50 m.As the fault rupture propagated southwest, the velocity pulse caused by the directional effect of the rupture increased gradually, with the maximum PGA reaching 162.3 cm/s.We also discussed the seismic safety of critical infrastructure projects traversing active faults, using two case studies of water supply pipelines in Türkiye that were damaged by earthquakes. We used a three-dimensional finite element model of the PE(polyethylene)water pipeline at the Islahiye State Hospital and fault displacement observations obtained through on-site investigation to analyze pipeline failure mechanisms. We further investigated the effect of the fault-crossing angle on seismic safety of a pipeline, based on our analysis and the failure performance of the large-diameter Thames Water pipeline during the 1999 Kocaeli earthquake. The seismic method of buried pipelines crossing the fault was summarized.

文摘Displacement damage effects on the charge-coupled device(CCD)induced by neutrons at the back-streaming white neutron source(Back-n)in the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)are analyzed according to an online irradiation experiment. The hot pixels, random telegraph signal(RTS),mean dark signal, dark current and dark signal non-uniformity(DSNU)induced by Back-n are presented. The dark current is calculated according to the mean dark signal at various integration times. The single-particle displacement damage and transient response are also observed based on the online measurement data. The trends of hot pixels, mean dark signal,DSNU and RTS degradation are related to the integration time and irradiation fluence. The mean dark signal, dark current and DSNU2 are nearly linear with neutron irradiation fluence when nearly all the pixels do not reach saturation. In addition, the mechanisms of the displacement damage effects on the CCD are demonstrated by combining the experimental results and technology computer-aided design(TCAD)simulation.Radiation-induced traps in the space charge region of the CCD will act as generation/recombination centers of electron-hole pairs, leading to an increase in the dark signal.
文摘In the case of reverse drag of normal faulting, the displacement and horizontal extension are determined based on the established equations for the three mechanisms: rigid body, vertical shear and inclined shear. Also, by comparing three rotation mechanisms, we find that the inclined shear produces largest extension, the rigid body model with horizontal detachment produces the smallest extension, and the vertical shear model produces moderate extension.

文摘To investigate the disturbance-induced shear instability mechanism of structural catastrophe in the deep rock mass,MTS 815 material testing machine was used to carry out quasi-static loading tests and disturbance shear tests on symmetrical regular dentate joints of two materials at three undulation angles under specific initial static stress, disturbance frequency, and peak value. The test results indicate that:(i)the total ultimate instability displacement is only related to the intrinsic properties of the joints but not to the initial static stress and disturbance parameters;(ii)the cumulative irreversible displacement required for the disturbance instability conforms to the logistic inverse function relationship with the number of disturbances, displaying the variation trend of“rapid increase in the front, stable in the middle, and sudden increase in the rear”;(iii)the accumulation of plastic deformation energy is consistent with the evolution law of irreversible displacement of joints and the overall proportion of hysteretic energy is not large;(iv)the dissipated energy required for the instability of each group of joints is basically the same under various disturbance conditions, and this energy is mainly controlled by the initial shear stress and has no connection with the disturbance parameters. The stability of the total disturbance deformation and the disturbance energy law of the joints revealed in the tests provide data support for reasonably determining the disturbance instability criterion of joints.

文摘With the increasing demand for petroleum, shale oil with considerable reserves has become an important part of global oil resources. The shale oil reservoir has a large number of nanopores and a complicated mineral composition, and the effect of nanopore confinement and pore type usually makes the effective development of shale oil challenging. For a shale oil reservoir,CO_(2) flooding can effectively reduce the oil viscosity and improve the reservoir properties, which can thus improve the recovery performance. In this study, the method of non-equilibrium molecular dynamics(NEMD)simulation is used to simulate the CO_(2) flooding process in the nanoscale pores of shale oil reservoir. The performance difference between the organic kerogen slit nanopore and four types of inorganic nanopores is discussed. Thus, the effects of nanopore type and displacement velocity on the nanoscale displacement behavior of CO_(2) are analyzed. Results indicate that the CO_(2) flooding process of different inorganic pores is different. In comparison, the displacement efficiency of light oil components is higher, and the transport distance is longer. The intermolecular interaction can significantly affect the CO_(2) displacement behavior in nanopores. The CO_(2) displacement efficiency is shown as montmorillonite, feldspar>quartz>calcite>kerogen. On the other hand,it is found that a lower displacement velocity can benefit the miscibility process between alkane and CO_(2),which is conducive to the overall displacement process of CO_(2).The displacement efficiency can significantly decrease with the increase in displacement velocity. But once the displacement velocity is very high, the strong driving force can promote the alkane to move forward, and the displacement efficiency will recover slightly. This study further reveals the microscopic oil displacement mechanism of CO_(2) in shale nanopores, which is of great significance for the effective development of shale oil reservoirs by using the method of CO_(2) injection.
文摘Janus nanoparticles(JNPs)possess great potential in recovering the residual oil from reservoirs, however, the fundamental interaction mechanisms among nanoparticles, the oil,and reservoir wall characteristics remain to be elucidated. In this work, models of oil trapping grooves with different geometric features are subjected to molecular dynamics simulations for investigating the influences of roughness parameters on oil displacement dynamics by JNPs.Four key surface geometry parameters and different degrees of surface hydrophobicity are considered. Our results indicate that JNPs hold an outstanding performance in displacing residual oil on weakly to moderately hydrophobic surfaces.Overall, smaller entry and exit angles, the larger aspect ratio of the oil trapping grooves, and a bigger tip length of the rough ridges lead to superior oil recovery.Among the key geometric parameters, the aspect ratio of the oil trapping grooves plays the dominant role. These insights about the interaction of surface properties and JNPs and the resulting trapped oil displacement could serve as a theoretical reference for the application of JNPs for targeted reservoir conditions.

文摘In the construction of a soft rock tunnel,it is critical to accurately estimate the pre-stressed anchor support parameters for surrounding rock reinforcement;otherwise, engineering disasters may occur. This paper presents a support parameter selection method that aims to allow deformation as a control objective, which was applied to the tunnel located in Muzailing Highway,Min County,Dingxi City,Gansu Province,China.Through theoretical analysis,we have identified five factors that influence pre-stressing anchorages. The selection of mechanical parameters for the rock mass was carried out using an inverse analysis method.Compared with the measured data, the maximum displacement error of the numerical simulation results was only 0.07 m.The length of anchor cable, circumferential spacing of anchor cable, longitudinal spacing, and pre-stress index are adopted as the input parameters for the support vector machine neural network model based on particle swarm optimization(PSO-LSSVM).Besides,the vault subsidence and the maximum deformation of surrounding rock are considered as output values(performance indices). The goodness of fit between the predicted values and the simulated values exceeds 0.9.Finally,all support parameters within the acceptable deformation range are calculated. The optimal support variables are derived by considering the construction cost and duration. The field application results show that it is feasible to construct the sample database utilizing the numerical simulation approach by taking the displacement as the control target and using the neural network to specify the appropriate support parameters.

文摘This paper presents a simplified elastic continuum method for calculating the restraint effect of isolation piles on tunneling-induced vertical ground displacement, which can consider not only the relative sliding of the pile‒soil interface but also the pile rowesoil interaction. The proposed method is verified by comparisons with existing theoretical methods, including the boundary element method and the elastic foundation method. The results reveal the restraining mechanism of the isolation piles on vertical ground displacements due to tunneling,i.e.the positive and negative restraint effects exerted by the isolation piles jointly drive the ground vertical displacement along the depth direction from the original tunneling-induced nonlinear variation situation to a relatively uniform situation. The results also indicate that the stiffness of the pile‒soil interface, including the pile shaft‒surrounding soil interface and pile tip-supporting soil interface, describes the strength of the pile‒soil interaction. The pile rows can confine the vertical ground displacement caused by the tunnel excavation to the inner side of the isolation piles and effectively prevent the vertical ground displacement from expanding further toward the outer side of the isolation piles.

文摘Displacement-monitoring-based back analysis is a popular method for geomechanical parameter estimation. However, due to the delayed installation of multi-point extensometers, the monitoring curve is only a part of the overall one, leading to displacement loss.Besides, the monitoring and construction time on the monitoring curve is difficult to determine. In the literature, the final displacement was selected for the back analysis, which could induce unreliable results. In this paper,a displacement-based back analysis method to mitigate the influence of displacement loss is developed.A robust hybrid optimization algorithm is proposed as a substitute for time-consuming numerical simulation. It integrates the strengths of the nonlinear mapping and prediction capability of the support vector machine(SVM)algorithm, the global searching and optimization characteristics of the optimized particle swarm optimization(OPSO)algorithm, and the nonlinear numerical simulation capability of ABAQUS.To avoid being trapped in the local optimum and to improve the efficiency of optimization, the standard PSO algorithm is improved and is compared with other three algorithms(genetic algorithm(GA),simulated annealing(SA),and standard PSO).The results indicate the superiority of OPSO algorithm. Finally, the hybrid optimization algorithm is applied to an engineering project. The back-analyzed parameters are submitted to numerical analysis, and comparison between the calculated and monitoring displacement curve shows that this hybrid algorithm can offer a reasonable reference for geomechanical parameters estimation.

文摘Numerous factors affect the increased temperature of a machine tool, including prolonged and high-intensity usage,tool-workpiece interaction, mechanical friction, and elevated ambient temperatures, among others. Consequently, spindle thermal displacement occurs, and machining precision suffers. To prevent the errors caused by thetemperature rise of the Spindle fromaffecting the accuracy during themachining process, typically, the factory willwarm up themachine before themanufacturing process. However, if there is noway to understand the tool spindle’sthermal deformation, the machining quality will be greatly affected. In order to solve the above problem, thisstudy aims to predict the thermal displacement of the machine tool by using intelligent algorithms. In the practicalapplication, only a few temperature sensors are used to input the information into the prediction model for realtimethermal displacement prediction. This approach has greatly improved the quality of tool processing. However, each algorithm has different performances in different environments. In this study, an ensemble model is used tointegrate Long Short-TermMemory (LSTM) with Support VectorMachine (SVM). The experimental results showthat the prediction performance of LSTM-SVM is higher than that of other machine learning algorithms.
