Since domestic corporations firstly introduced into and implemented the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT),how to scientifically evaluate the implementation effects of AMT has been an urgent problem.Through the review of for- eign relative studies,this paper constructs an indicator system used to evaluate the implementation effects of AMT.Operational performance,Organizational or managerial performance,Satisfactory performance,and Competitive performance are indicators of first level in the system,and 19 indicators of second level have been selected to estimate the implementation effects of AMT.In this study,a model based on Minkowski distance discriminance to select the specialists’ opinion was designed to evaluate the indica- tor system,and the measure’s validity and practicability was proved by a case study to a diesel engine factory. 展开更多

This study aims at developing a Knowledge Management Implementation Framework for adoption by firms in the Ghanaian construction industry. Recent developments in the field of Knowledge management in the construction sector have led to a renewed competition in driving organizational performance. However, the construction industry in Ghana lacks a knowledge management implementation framework that addresses the needs of the Ghanaian construction supply chain while a comprehensive approach to managing knowledge remains nebulous. The study adopted an extensive literature review of existing knowledge management models to provide the basis for the development of the proposed framework for Ghana. The proposed knowledge management implementation framework was subjected to testing and validation by project managers drawn from nineteen indigenous construction firms in Ghana. The technology acceptance model (TAM) was used as the criteria to validate the proposed knowledge management implementation framework. The proposed Guribie & Tengan knowledge management implementation framework was perceived to be useful, and easy to use and the intention to adopt and use was high among indigenous Ghanaian construction firms. The study recommends further validation using wider population to enhance the efficacy of the framework for wider industry acceptance to enhance organizational competitiveness and performance delivery. 展开更多

Nowadays, the success of the new technology development and deployment process depends not only on technical, technological solutions, but also on solving the non-technological problems and crossing the societal and psychological barriers. A large international European projects, GABRIEL1 had developed a maglev assisted aircraft take-off and landing, that was applied to conceptual design of aircraft and required on-board and ground systems, had analysed all impacts (effects of concept deployment on effectiveness, safety, security, noise, emissions) and had demonstrated the safe applicability by concept validation. The applied methodology, used methods and the results of the Gabriel projects had been described and discussed by 55 project deliverables. This paper has a special goal: investigating the problems and barriers of possible implementing of the radically new technology, aircraft MagLev assisted take-off and landing. The study was started by identification and classification of the problems and barriers. After it, the problems were systematically analysed by use of special methodology containing the understanding (description) of the problems, investigation of the possible solutions and discussing their applicability (mainly by use of the Gabriel project results). The paper has three major sections: 1) description of the Gabriel concept and project results, 2) introducing some related thoughts on general aspects of new technology developments, and 3) discussion on the problems and their solutions. The major classes of the problems are the 1) technical, technological problems as developing a radically new solution, landing the undercarriage-less aircraft on the magnetic tracks, 2) stakeholders’ problems as decision makers kicking against supporting the developments of so radically new technologies and 3) society barriers like society worrying on and fear of future passengers on flying by aircraft have not conventional undercarriage systems. The first international conference for the post-2015 United Nations landmark agreements(Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, Sustainable Development Goals, and Paris Agreement on Climate Change) was held in January 2016 to discuss the role of science and technology in implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030. The UNISDR Science and Technology Conference on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 aimed to discuss and endorse plans that maximize science's contribution to reducing disaster risks and losses in the coming 15 years and bring together the diversity of stakeholders producing and using disaster risk reduction(DRR) science and technology. This article describes the evolution of the role of science and technology in the policy process building up to the Sendai Framework adoption that resulted in an unprecedented emphasis on science in the text agreed on by 187 United Nations member states in March 2015 and endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly in June 2015. Contributions assembled by the Conference Organizing Committee and teams including the conference concept notes and the conference discussions that involved a broad range of scientists and decision makers are summarized in this article. The conference emphasized how partnerships and networks can advance multidisciplinary research and bring together science, policy, and practice; how disaster risk is understood, and how risks are assessed and early warning systems are designed; what data, standards, and innovative practices would be needed to measure and report on risk reduction; what research and capacity gaps exist and how difficulties in creating and using science for effective DRR can be overcome. The Science and Technology Conference achieved two main outcomes:(1) initiating the UNISDR Science and Technology Partnership for the implementation of the Sendai Framework; and(2) generating discussion and agreement regarding the content and endorsement process of the UNISDR Science and Technology Road Map to 2030. 展开更多

Industry 4.0,known as the fourth technological transformation towards digital-physical systems in manufacturing,creates a disruptive impact on industries.Manufacturing companies,especially small and medium-sized ones,are facing various challenges and must constantly innovate to remain competitive.One way to innovate is by implementing new technologies into company processes.In this study,we investigate how technology,company and industry related factors are associated with the implementation of Industry 4.0 in SMEs.We collect data via a survey with a focus on Industry 4.0 in SMEs.The results indicate that knowledge and expected benefits of technology are the drivers for the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies.They also show that companies with high levels of process automation and high product variety are more likely to implement Industry 4.0 technologies.Our study creates a better understanding of the status,challenges and plans within Industry 4.0 implementation in SMEs,which will support the development of SME-friendly manufacturing tools and systems and craft managers’and policymakers’understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies. 展开更多

Then the logic implementation and system application are presented based on the fraetal model of the optimal scan architecture, and the application results achieved target of eliminating time redundancy and increasing the scanning availability. The novel control mode that the fractal scanning IP core described with Verilog language embedded in the FPGA hardware frame can efficiently increase the imaging gray scales and quality in the FPDs scanning controller and speed up the frame frequency of display system. 展开更多

Goose parvovirus(GPV)can cause a highly contagious and fatal gosling plague(GP)disease in goslings and muscoy ducklings.Here,three goose-origin neutralizing single chain variable fragment(scFv)antibodies against GPV SYG-61 were isolated.The genes of scFv antibodies were derived from goslings immunized with GPV SYG-61,and scFvs were subcloned into a pBSD vector for the construction of pBSD-scFv libraries.The pBSD-scFv libraries were screened following three rounds using VP2(protective antigen of GPV)as the bait by flow cytometry(FCM).After screening,the 15 clones with high mean fluorescence intensity(MFI)were isolated and sequenced.These 15 scFvs were expressed by pET-28a(+)in E.coli.The specificity and affinity of the 15 purified scFvs were successfully confirmed by ELISA.In the preliminary neutralization experiment on primary goose embryo fibroblast(GEF)in vitro,three of the 15 purified scFvs(named scFv-10,scFv-11 and scFv-50)showed significant neutralizing capacities.The study generated the first goose-origin neutralizing scFv against GPV and laid the foundation for the appearance of full-length goose-origin neutralizing monoclonal antibody against GPV. 展开更多

Color filters are produced using semiconductor production techniques although problems with low yield remain to be addressed. This study presents a new means of selective removal using excimer irradiation, chemical etching, or electrochemical machining on the fifth generation TFT LCDs. The selective removal of microstructure layers from the color filter surface of an optoelectronic flat panel display, as well as complete removal of the ITO thin-films, RGB layer, or resin black matrix (BM) layer from the substrate is possible. Individual defective film layers can be removed, or all films down to the Cr layer or bare glass can be completely eliminated. Experimental results demonstrate that defective ITO thin-films, RGB layers, or the resin BM layer can now be recycled with a great precision. When the ITO or RGB layer proves difficult to remove, excimer light can be used to help with removal. During this recycling process, the use of 225 nm excimer irradiation before chemical etching, or electrochemical machining, makes removal of stubborn film residues easy, effectively improving the quality of recycled color filters and reducing fabrication cost. 展开更多

Advanced manufacturing technology(AMT)is pivotal for firms to gain manufacturing performance and com- petitive advantage.Job characteristics,as a kind of important factors affecting the implementation effects of AMT ,have become the focus in the field of academy.Based on a literature review,this study refines the implementation effects of AMT into opera- tional performance,satisfaction and competitive performance,and reclassifies the job characteristics of AMT into job autonomy, job responsibility,job complexity and job significance.With a large sample of 307 equipment-manufacturing firms selected from the 2005 China International Equipment and Manufacturing Exposition,linear structural equation analysis(LIEREL)is per- formed to examine the relationships between job characteristics and the implementation effects of AMT.The results show that job re- sponsibility and job significance have positive effects on satisfaction;satisfaction is positively correlated with operational perfor- mance;operational performance positively affects competitive performance.The findings provide the guide for firms to improve satisfaction,achieve higher operational performance and further gain higher competitive by reasonable job redesign. 展开更多
