For optimal solar harvesting, there is a need for a control schema to force the PV string to operate at global maximum power point (GMPP). While a lot of tracking methods have been proposed in the literature, they are usually complex and do not fully take advantage of the available characteristics of the PV array. This work highlights how the voltage at operating point and the forward voltage of the bypass diode are considered to design a global maximum power point tracking (GMPPT) algorithm with a very limited global search phase called Fast GMPPT. This algorithm successfully tracks GMPP between 94% and 98% of the time under a theoretical evaluation. It is then compared against Perturb and Observe, Deterministic Particle Swarm Optimization, and Grey Wolf Optimization under a sequence of irradiance steps as well as a power-over-voltage characteristics profile that mimics the electrical characteristics of a PV string under varying partial shading conditions. Overall, the simulation with the sequence of irradiance steps shows that while Fast GMPPT does not have the best convergence time, it has an excellent convergence rate as well as causes the least amount of power loss during the global search phase. Experimental test under varying partial shading conditions shows that while the GMPPT proposal is simple and lightweight, it is very performant under a wide range of dynamically varying partial shading conditions and boasts the best energy efficiency (94.74%) out of the 4 tested algorithms.展开更多

The algorithm for decomposing concave cloud into convex images is proposed. Adopting minimum polygonal approximation (MPP) to demonstrate the contour of concave cloud, cloud features are described and the subdivision lines of convex decomposition for the concave clouds are determined by the centroid point scattering model and centroid angle func- tion, which realizes the convex decomposition of concave cloud. The result of MATLAB simulation indicates that the proposed algorithm can accurately detect cloud contour comers and recognize the concave points. The proposed decomposition algorithm has advantages of less time complexity and decomposition part numbers compared to traditional algorithms. So the established model can make the convex decomposition of complex concave clouds completely and quickly, which is available for the existing prediction algorithm for the ultra-short-term power output of distributed PV system based on the cloud features.展开更多

文摘The increasing proportion of distributed photovoltaics(DPVs)and electric vehicle charging stations in low-voltage distribution networks(LVDNs)has resulted in challenges such as distribution transformer overloads and voltage violations. To address these problems,we propose a coordinated planning method for flexible interconnections and energy storage systems(ESSs)to improve the accommodation capacity of DPVs.First, the power-transfer characteristics of flexible interconnection and ESSs are analyzed. The equipment costs of the voltage source converters(VSCs)and ESSs are also analyzed comprehensively, considering the differences in installation and maintenance costs for different installation locations.Second,a bilevel programming model is established to minimize the annual comprehensive cost and yearly total PV curtailment capacity.Within this framework, the upper-level model optimizes the installation locations and capacities of the VSCs and ESSs,whereas the lower-level model optimizes the operating power of the VSCs and ESSs.The proposed model is solved using a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with an elite strategy(NSGA-II).The effectiveness of the proposed planning method is validated through an actual LVDN scenario, which demonstrates its advantages in enhancing PV accommodation capacity. In addition, the economic benefits of various planning schemes with different flexible interconnection topologies and different PV grid-connected forms are quantitatively analyzed, demonstrating the adaptability of the proposed coordinated planning method.
文摘This paper presents a comprehensive study that includes the sizing and power flow by series and parallel inverters in a distributed generation system(DGs)that integrates the system of hybrid wind photovoltaic with a unified power quality conditioner(UPQC).In addition to supplying active power to the utility grid, the system of hybrid wind photovoltaic functions as a UPQC,compensating reactive power and suppressing the harmonic load currents.Additionally, the load is supplied with harmonic-free,balanced and regulated output voltages.Since PVWind-UPQC is established on a dual compensation scheme, the series inverter works like a sinusoidal current source, while the parallel inverter works like a sinusoidal voltage source.Consequently,a smooth alteration from interconnected operating modes to island operating modes and vice versa can be achieved without load voltage transients.Since PV-Wind-UPQC inverters handle the energy generated through the hybrid wind photovoltaic system and the energy demanded through the load, the converters should be sized cautiously.A detailed study of the flow of power via the PV-Wind-UPQC is imperative to gain a complete understanding of the system operation and the proper design of the converters. Thus, curves that allow the sizing of the power converters according to the power flow via the converters are presented and discussed.Simulation results are presented to assess both steady state and dynamic performances of the grid connected hybrid system of PV-Wind-UPQC.This investigation is verified by simulating and analyzing the results with Matlab/Simulink.

文摘The analysis of the loss of distributed photovoltaic power generation systems involves the interests of energy users,energy-saving service companies, and power grid companies,so it has always been the focus of the industry and society in some manner or another. However, the related analysis for an actual case that considers different cooperative corporations’benefits is lacking in the presently available literature. This paper takes the distributed rooftop photovoltaic power generation project in an industrial park as the object, studies the analysis and calculation methods of line loss and transformer loss, analyzes the change of transformer loss under different temperatures and different load rates, and compares the data and trend of electricity consumption and power generation in industrial parks before and after the photovoltaic operation. This paper explores and practices the analysis method of the operating loss of distributed photovoltaic power generation and provides an essential reference for the benefit analysis and investment cost estimation of distributed photovoltaic power generation systems in industrial parks. The analyzed results reveal that the change loss is stable after the photovoltaic is connected, and there is no additional transformer loss. And before and after the photovoltaic system installation, there was no significant change in the total monthly data difference between the total meter and the sub-meter.

文摘Concave clouds will cause miscalculation by the power prediction model based on cloud ieatures for distributed photovoltaic (PV) plant. So the established model can make the convex decomposition of complex concave clouds completely and quickly, which is available for the existing prediction algorithm for the ultra-short-term power output of distributed PV system based on the cloud features.

文摘The integration of distributed generation brings in new challenges for the operation of distribution networks, including out-of-limit voltage and power flow control.Soft open points(SOP)are new power electronic devices that can flexibly control active and reactive power flows. With the exception of active power output, photovoltaic(PV)devices can provide reactive power compensation through an inverter. Thus,a synergetic optimization operation method for SOP and PV in a distribution network is proposed.A synergetic optimization model was developed. The voltage deviation, network loss, and ratio of photovoltaic abandonment were selected as the objective functions. The PV model was improved by considering the three reactive power output modes of the PV inverter. Both the load fluctuation and loss of the SOP were considered.Three multi-objective optimization algorithms were used, and a compromise optimal solution was calculated.Case studies were conducted using an IEEE 33-node system. The simulation results indicated that the SOP and PVs complemented each other in terms of active power transmission and reactive power compensation.Synergetic optimization improves power control capability and flexibility, providing better power quality and PV consumption rate.
文摘In this paper,a detailed model of a photovoltaic(PV)panel is used to study the accumulation of dust on solar panels. The presence of dust diminishes the incident light intensity penetrating the panel’s cover glass,as it increases the reflection of light by particles. This phenomenon, commonly known as the“soiling effect”,presents a significant challenge to PV systems on a global scale. Two basic models of the equivalent circuits of a solar cell can be found, namely the single-diode model and the two-diode models. The limitation of efficiency data in manufacturers’datasheets has encouraged us to develop an equivalent electrical model that is efficient under dust conditions, integrated with optical transmittance considerations to investigate the soiling effect. The proposed approach is based on the use of experimental current-voltage(I-V)characteristics with simulated data using MATLAB/Simulink.Our research outcomes underscores the feasibility of accurately quantifying the reduction in energy production resulting from soiling by assessing the optical transmittance of accumulated dust on the surface of PV glass.

文摘Expanding photovoltaic(PV)resources in rural-grid areas is an essential means to augment the share of solar energy in the energy landscape, aligning with the“carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”objectives. However, rural power grids often lack digitalization;thus, the load distribution within these areas is not fully known. This hinders the calculation of the available PV capacity and deduction of node voltages. This study proposes a load-distribution modeling approach based on remote-sensing image recognition in pursuit of a scientific framework for developing distributed PV resources in rural grid areas.First, houses in remote-sensing images are accurately recognized using deep-learning techniques based on the YOLOv5 model. The distribution of the houses is then used to estimate the load distribution in the grid area.Next, equally spaced and clustered distribution models are used to adaptively determine the location of the nodes and load power in the distribution lines. Finally,by calculating the connectivity matrix of the nodes,a minimum spanning tree is extracted, the topology of the network is constructed, and the node parameters of the load-distribution model are calculated. The proposed scheme is implemented in a software package and its efficacy is demonstrated by analyzing typical remote-sensing images of rural grid areas. The results underscore the ability of the proposed approach to effectively discern the distribution-line structure and compute the node parameters, thereby offering vital support for determining PV access capability.

文摘Considering the instability of the output power of photovoltaic(PV)generation system,to improve the power regulation ability of PV power during grid-connected operation, based on the quantitative analysis of meteorological conditions,a short-term prediction method of PV power based on LMD-EE-ESN with iterative error correction was proposed.Firstly, through the fuzzy clustering processing of meteorological conditions, taking the power curves of PV power generation in sunny, rainy or snowy, cloudy, and changeable weather as the reference, the local mean decomposition(LMD)was carried out respectively, and their energy entropy(EE)was taken as the meteorological characteristics. Then, the historical generation power series was decomposed by LMD algorithm, and the hierarchical prediction of the power curve was realized by echo state network(ESN)prediction algorithm combined with meteorological characteristics. Finally, the iterative error theory was applied to the correction of power prediction results. The analysis of the historical data in the PV power generation system shows that this method avoids the influence of meteorological conditions in the short-term prediction of PV output power, and improves the accuracy of power prediction on the condition of hierarchical prediction and iterative error correction.
