换个角度看世界——试用主体视点回答关于Activity Documentary的几个问题

许多关于纪录电影或电影的史记编年体的学术著作里,往往把纪录电影推至直接电影就戛然而止了。而对于之后纪录电影更多的描述是独立制片、新纪录电影等。关于系统地阐述Activity Documentary的章节还未完全成形,也没有专门的理论来解构它。本文尝试用拟人论及主体视点解构Activity Documentary,以及制作纪录片的导演们,力求更接近该种模式纪录片的本质。纪录电影随着人类的发展史开始了新的篇章。纪录电影早期在纠结于对真实的探究,人们总是把注意力过多地放在是否真实上。这倒也可以理解,毕竟人们不想陷入不可知论的恐慌中,和所有的记载人类历史的方式一样,既然拿起了纪录的工具,那虚假的纪录也就失去了原本的意义。其实纪录电影发展到现在,学术界还不能给它一个非此即彼的界定,既然这样,那么我们就说纪录电影一直在路上好了。伴随着20世纪60年代美国兴起的新左派运动,Activity Documentary逐渐走上舞台,它的出现刺激了纪录电影的再一次发展。

A Research on the Documentary Subtitle Translation from the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics Theory——A Case Study of the Subtitle Translation of The Story of China

Documentary is an important form of audiovisual works with the characteristics of both authenticity and artistry, which plays a significant role in the spread of culture and knowledge. Reception aesthetics is a theory of literary criticism raised by the German literature theoretician and aesthetician Hans Robert Jauss in the 1960 s, in which the focus of literary studies is shifted from the author and text to the reader. It emphasizes reader's participation and acceptance during the text understanding, by shifting the central position of studies from the author and work to the reader. It claims that only the works that have been comprehended and delivered by readers possess artistic value and meaning. With the characteristic of audience-centered, documentary happens to coincide with reception aesthetics theory which takes readers' horizon of expectation into consideration. Applying the theory of reception aesthetics as its interpretive framework, this paper makes an effort to study subtitle translation of documentary films.

From Wallpaper to Interactivity： Use of Archive Footage in Documentary Filmmaking

＂Our relation to the past is being transformed by digital media. Internet and digital databases increase the presence of the past and remake our connection to both past and present＂ （Manoff, 2010, p. 9）. The use of archive footage in documentary filmmaking has increased significantly, since the digitalization of audio-visual archives. Access is facilitated by databases and different interfaces. The theorization about the particular impacts of archive footage on the documentary text has not received much attention as yet as archive usage has been seen as unproblematic and digital archives as just ＂handy＂. This paper is a first step in the development of a taxonomy of how archive footage is being used by documentary filmmakers, while taken into account the production practices and the processes of archivization of archive materials.

Analysis of the Harmonious Discourse of Publicity Documentary Seasons of China Based on Transitivity System

Publicity documentaries play an important role in shaping the image of one country during the international communication.Seasons of China is a publicity documentary introducing the traditional Chinese culture 24 solar terms.Under the guidance of the framework of Harmonious Discourse Analysis,this thesis uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the harmonious discourse of this documentary based on the transitivity system.The research finds that the discourse of Seasons of China conveys the China’s ecological concept of respecting,following and protecting the nature,while telling the stories of Chinese traditional culture 24 solar terms,highlighting the image of China as a responsible country for ecological civilization construction.

The English Subtitle Translation of Quanzhou’s World Heritage Application Documentary: A Frame Theory Perspective

Based on Fillmore’s frame theory, this paper examines the translator’s cognitive frame operation in the English subtitle translation of Quanzhou’s World Heritage application documentary. It analyzes and discusses how the translator maximizes translation effect between the source language and the target language, so as to enhance the readability of documentary subtitles and promote the spread of traditional Chinese culture. The findings are as follows: Firstly, in the translation process, the frame operations used by the translator include frame correspondence, intra-frame operations, frame replacement, frame perspective shift and frame transplantation. Secondly, cultural documentaries are full of culture-loaded words, for which the translator usually uses frame transplantation. Thirdly, due to the instantaneous nature of subtitles, intra-frame operations and frame replacement are applied in terms of cultural background of the target language audience. Besides, in order to enhance the audience’s reading experience, there may be some changes of narrative perspective in the English translation of cultural documentaries.

Characteristics and C-E Translation Methods of the Four-Character Frame in the Subtitles of the Documentary Daming Palace

This paper studies the four-character frame in the subtitle of the documentary Daming Palace, aiming to provide a reference for the translation of the documentary four-character case as well as better spread Chinese culture. By analyzing, researching and summarizing the subtitle of Daming Palace and reading a lot of literature, the author has found that in Daming Palace the four-character frame is characterized by the use of the absolute four-character frames and the recurrence of some four-character frames, and that C-E translation methods of the four-character frame are mainly literal translation, free translation, provincial translation and concise translation.

A Study on German Translation Strategies of Culture-Loaded Words in Documentary Hexi Corridor(Expert)by Adaptation Theory

This paper deals with the translation strategies of Chinese Culture-Loaded Words from the perspective of adaptation theory.It is based on the translation text of the sixth episode“Silk Road”and the seventh episode“Dunhuang”of the documentary Hexi Corridor.Many words with Chinese cultural connotations appear in the subtitles of this documentary.This paper will be divided into four parts.The first part and the second part deal with the basic theories,i.e.,definition of Chinese Culture-Loaded Words and of adaptation theory.The original text is analysed in the third part.This part deals with the background and specifics of the language of the documentary film Hexi Corridor.The fourth part deals with the difficulties encountered by the author in translation practice and the corresponding solutions adopted by the author.The translation difficulties are solved by five translation methods,namely transliteration,loan translation,substitution,interpretation,and adaptation.

Improving the Transitional Care for Child Dental Nursing via the Use of Documentary Films

The purpose of this paper is utilizing quasi-experimental study to evaluate the educational value of a documentary film for transitional care about children dental health management The method used in this study is a pre-post survey among nurse viewers. The study was completed over a 12-month period. In the experimental group, when the nurses watched the documentary film, they evaluated the documentary film highly and reported an intention to change their transitional care practice and mind as a result of watching the documentary film. Following viewing, children and their parents felt more strongly that ＂children with dental problems should meet with a nurse early＂ and that ＂transitional care greatly impacts children oral health＂. As a result, a documentary film about oral transitional care is an effective educational tool to improve nurses＇ transitional care awareness among children about the importance and needs of children. The results suggest that if significant modifications are obtained, this approach can be an efficient way applicable to other contexts of patient care.

纪录片如何以“人”为核心讲述“生命”的故事是其作为一种生命叙事文本的现实关切,也是基于纪录片研究回归人的主体意识与话语建构的理论拓展。纪录片生命叙事中的双重主体,即作为他者化的“自我”的创作者与作为“自我化”的他者的被摄者,呈现出主体间互动的“对话性”。纪录片通过将个体生命经验进行一系列梳理、提取与整合,再与社会的汇流中经由连贯性生产进而形成具有结构性和启发性的生命故事。在纪录片中,生命叙事通过“表现性话语”完成意义的建构,并以反身性认知的形式推动意义的再生产与流动。

自我与他者的讲述及协商:中西纪录片的中国边疆叙事探赜

分析近三十年的中国边疆题材纪录片,发现中西方纪录片基于各自叙事意图,通过“自我”与“他者”的表征共同建构了中国边疆的话语和影像符号,并由此发展出鲜明的边疆叙事特征和审美形式。中国纪录片采用了内视角与散文式叙事结构,西方纪录片则以外视角和戏剧化结构为主,在中西纪录片中,中国边疆分别被刻画为整体的意象空间与他者的现实空间。而当下新的中国边疆叙事亟待提高国际传播的效力,站在人类学的视角来重新审视时,能发现他者智慧与协商之道。纪录片是讲述中国边疆故事的重要载体,中国纪录片应建构自身的话语与策略,并在与“他者”的对话中展现多元、真实、生动的边疆形象。

数据驱动的档案文献遗产价值挖掘与活化研究

针对档案文献遗产领域数字技术应用于知识服务略显不足的现状,文章基于知识组织与服务的关联设计活化方案,促进社会共享。基于本体和图谱建构,设计数据驱动的档案文献遗产价值挖掘与活化方案。从数据抽取、知识组织、知识发现到价值表达对数字技术应用于档案文献遗产的方法过程展开研究,通过大生档案的案例实证方案,面向知识服务提出可行活化路径。结果表明,多学科视角挖掘档案文献遗产在历史和社会文化价值视域下具有留存历史、守护记忆、触发情感、形塑认同四重意义,从知识平台服务、多感官交互、沉浸式体验、融媒体共享四方面提出建设档案文化活态空间,展现数字技术对档案文献遗产活化利用的驱动及影响。
