We apply the newly proposed double absorbing boundary condition(DABC)(Hagstrom et al., 2014) to solve the boundary reflection problem in seismic finite-difference(FD) modeling. In the DABC scheme, the local high-order absorbing boundary condition is used on two parallel artificial boundaries, and thus double absorption is achieved. Using the general 2D acoustic wave propagation equations as an example, we use the DABC in seismic FD modeling, and discuss the derivation and implementation steps in detail. Compared with the perfectly matched layer(PML), the complexity decreases, and the stability and fl exibility improve. A homogeneous model and the SEG salt model are selected for numerical experiments. The results show that absorption using the DABC is considerably improved relative to the Clayton–Engquist boundary condition and nearly the same as that in the PML. 展开更多

ZnTi-layered double hydroxides(LDHs) with varying Zn/Ti ratio have been synthesized by coprecipitation of zinc and titanium salts from homogeneous solution.The obtained ZnTi-LDHs possess high crystallinity and hierarchical structure with improved UV-absorbance property.The UV-vis spectra show that the UV absorbing properties of ZnTi-LDHs is stronger and broader than both MgAl-LDH and ZnAl-LDH due to the existence of Ti.Moreover,the UV absorption property increased with the content of Ti,which can be ascribed to the decrease in the band gap energy,as clearly confirmed by density functional theory calculations.When irradiated by UV rays,the property of the samples with generated free radicals(OH^·and O2^·) was evaluated by means of electron spin resonance(EPR).ZnTi-LDHs generated a relatively lower active radicals in contrast with TiO2 and ZnO,which implied an increased safety used as sunscreens.Therefore,this work provides a detailed understanding of UV shielding properties of ZnTiLDHs which was unrevealed previously,and demonstrates the expansive application prospects of ZnTiLDHs in the field of sunscreens. 展开更多

An organic ultraviolet (UV) ray absorbent, p-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) was intercalated into a Zn-Ti layered double hydroxide (LDH) precursor by an anion-exchange reaction to obtain ZnTi-PABA-LDH, a new organic-inorganic nanocomposite. The structure and the thermal stability of ZnTi-PABA-LDH were characterized by XRD, FT-IR and TG-DTA. The results indicate ZnTi-PABA-LDH, synthesized by this method, exhibit relatively high crystallinity, and markedly enhanced thermal stability of PABA after intercalation into ZnTi-LDH. The UV-vis-NIR spectrophotometric and ESR data show excellent UV ray resistance and greatly decreased photocatalytic activity when PABA is intercalated into the interlayers of the ZnTi-LDH. The studies suggest that ZnTi-PABA-LDH may have potential applications as safe sunscreen materials. 展开更多

Combining the self-stimulated Raman scattering technology and saturable absorber of Cr^(4+):YAG, a 1.17 μm c-cut Nd:GdVO_4 picosecond Q-switched laser is demonstrated in this paper. With an incident pump power of 10 W, the Q-switched laser with average power of 430 mW for 1.17 μm, pulse width of 270 ps, repetition rate of 13 kHz and the first order Stokes conversion efficiency of 4.3% is obtained. The Q-switched pulse width can be the narrowest in our research. In addition, the yellow laser at 0.58 μm is also achieved by using the LiB_3O_5 frequency doubling crystal. 展开更多
