The behavior of cold⁃formed steel(CFS)stud⁃to⁃sheathing connections at elevated temperatures is an important parameter for the fire resistance design and modeling of mid⁃rise CFS structures.In this paper,three kinds o...The behavior of cold⁃formed steel(CFS)stud⁃to⁃sheathing connections at elevated temperatures is an important parameter for the fire resistance design and modeling of mid⁃rise CFS structures.In this paper,three kinds of sheathings,namely,medium⁃and low⁃density calcium⁃silicate boards and oriented strand board,were selected for double⁃shear experiments on the mechanical properties of 253 screw connections at ambient and elevated temperatures.The effects of the shear direction,screw edge distance and the number of screws on the behavior of the connections were studied.The results showed that the shear direction and the screw edge distance more significantly influenced the peak deformation,while their impacts on the peak load varied with the type of sheathings.Compared with the single⁃screw connections,the peak loads of the specimens with double⁃screw connections obviously increased but did not double.Finally,a simplified load⁃displacement curve model of stud⁃to⁃sheathing connections at elevated temperature was generated first by establishing the prediction formula for characteristic parameters,such as the peak load,the peak deformation and the elastic stiffness,and then by considering whether the curves corresponded to stiffness increase phenomena.The present investigation provides basic data for future studies on the numerical modeling of CFS structures under fire conditions.展开更多

Three examples are selected for discussion in this paper: i) The proposed wave-particle duality of electrons;ii) cold fusion;and iii) superconductivity. The current interpretations of these enigmatic concepts are incomplete and not fully validated by scientific methods. The observations underlying these processes are seemingly consistent with KELEA acting as a repelling force between opposite electrical charges. Relatively simple experiments can be designed to either confirm or exclude KELEA in these and in various other currently perplexing physical phenomena.展开更多

Secondly, in order to study the stability of underground rock and zone of tectonic stress field, based on the analysis on distribution characteristic of initial rock stress measurements, the geology structural model was built and tectonic stress field was made a back-analysis by applying finite element method. The calculating results fit with the analysis result of earthquakes mechanism and the distribution characteristic of the measurements. The high stress regional centers station locates discontinuous zone of I level faults and is corresponding to underground earthquakes scene. From then it is certain that tectonic stress is the major origin and necessary condition of mine earthquakes. The instability slide of the faults is the main manifest and the mining activity is the leading factor. Beipiao fault has a dominate effect on other sub faults and tectonic stress area and is dynamical fountain of dynamic phenomena in the Beipiao Mines.展开更多
Searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay(NLDBD)is now regarded as the topmost promising technique to explore the nature of neutrinos after the discovery of neutrino masses in oscillation experiments.Panda X-II...Searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay(NLDBD)is now regarded as the topmost promising technique to explore the nature of neutrinos after the discovery of neutrino masses in oscillation experiments.Panda X-III(particle and astrophysical xenon experiment III)will search for the NLDBD of136Xe at the China Jin Ping Underground Laboratory(CJPL).In the first phase of the experiment,a high pressure gas Time Projection Chamber(TPC)will contain 200 kg,90%136Xe enriched gas operated at10 bar.Fine pitch micro-pattern gas detector(Microbulk Micromegas)will be used at both ends of the TPC for the charge readout with a cathode in the middle.Charge signals can be used to reconstruct the electron tracks of the NLDBD events and provide good energy and spatial resolution.The detector will be immersed in a large water tank to ensure~5 m of water shielding in all directions.The second phase,a ton-scale experiment,will consist of five TPCs in the same water tank,with improved energy resolution and better control over backgrounds.展开更多
Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have been extensively used in civil and industrial applications due to the rapid development of the guidance,navigation and control(GNC)technologies.Especially,using deep reinforcement le...Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have been extensively used in civil and industrial applications due to the rapid development of the guidance,navigation and control(GNC)technologies.Especially,using deep reinforcement learning methods for motion control acquires a major progress recently,since deep Q-learning algorithm has been successfully applied to the continuous action domain problem.This paper proposes an improved deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)algorithm for path following control problem of UAV.A speci-c reward function is designed for minimizing the cross-track error of the path following problem.In the training phase,a double experience replay bu®er(DERB)is used to increase the learning e±ciency and accelerate the convergence speed.First,the model of UAV path following problem has been established.After that,the framework of DDPG algorithm is constructed.Then the state space,action space and reward function of the UAV path following algorithm are designed.DERB is proposed to accelerate the training phase.Finally,simulation results are carried out to show the e®ectiveness of the proposed DERB–DDPG method.展开更多
