It is combined to bandwidthresource allocation and the congestion restraint mechanism to avoid congestion happening and worsen.So network performance can be improved greatly. The frame of AMR includes adaptive trafficallocation model, the conception of supply bandwidth and its' allocation model, the principle ofcongestion restraint and its' model, and the implement of AMR based on multi-agents system in activenetwork. The mass production of primed electronics can be achieved by roll-to-roll(R2R) printing system, so highly accurate web tension is required that can minimize the register error and keep the thickness and roughness of...The mass production of primed electronics can be achieved by roll-to-roll(R2R) printing system, so highly accurate web tension is required that can minimize the register error and keep the thickness and roughness of printed devices in limits. The web tension of a R2R system is regulated by the use of integrated load cells and active dancer system for printed electronics applications using decentralized multi-input-single-output(MISO) regularized variable learning rate backpropagation artificial neural networks. The active dancer system is used before printing system to reduce disturbances in the web tension of process span. The classical PID control result in tension spikes with the change in roll diameter of winder and unwinder rolls. The presence of dancer in R2R system shows that improved web tension control in printing span and the web tension can be enhanced from 3.75 N to 4.75 N. The overshoot of system is less than ±2.5 N and steady state error is within ± 1 N where load cells have a signal noise of ±0.7 N. The integration of load cells and active dancer with self-adapting neural network control provide a solution to the web tension control of multispan roll-to-roll system.展开更多

The radiation patches consist of a shortedannular-ring reduced-surface-w...A novel dual-band antenna is proposed for mitigating the multi-path interference in the global navigation satellite system(GNSS) applications. The radiation patches consist of a shortedannular-ring reduced-surface-wave(SAR-RSW) element and an inverted-shorted-annular-ring reduced-surface-wave(ISAR-RSW)element. One key feature of the design is the proximity-coupled probe feeds to increase impedance bandwidth. The other is the defected ground structure band rejection filters to suppress the interaction effect between the SAR-RSW and the ISAR-RSW elements. In addition, trans-directional couplers are used to obtain tight coupling. Measurement results indicate that the antenna has a larger than 10 d B return loss bandwidth and a less than 3 d B axial-ratio(AR) bandwidth in the range of(1.164 – 1.255) GHz and(1.552 – 1.610) GHz. The gain of the passive antenna in the whole operating band is more than 7 d Bi.展开更多
Successful modeling and/or design of engineering systems often requires one to address the impact of multiple "design variables" on the prescribed outcome.There are often multiple,competing objectives based on which...Successful modeling and/or design of engineering systems often requires one to address the impact of multiple "design variables" on the prescribed outcome.There are often multiple,competing objectives based on which we assess the outcome of optimization.Since accurate,high fidelity models are typically time consuming and computationally expensive,comprehensive evaluations can be conducted only if an efficient framework is available.Furthermore,informed decisions of the model/hardware's overall performance rely on an adequate understanding of the global,not local,sensitivity of the individual design variables on the objectives.The surrogate-based approach,which involves approximating the objectives as continuous functions of design variables from limited data,offers a rational framework to reduce the number of important input variables,i.e.,the dimension of a design or modeling space.In this paper,we review the fundamental issues that arise in surrogate-based analysis and optimization,highlighting concepts,methods,techniques,as well as modeling implications for mechanics problems.To aid the discussions of the issues involved,we summarize recent efforts in investigating cryogenic cavitating flows,active flow control based on dielectric barrier discharge concepts,and lithium(Li)-ion batteries.It is also stressed that many multi-scale mechanics problems can naturally benefit from the surrogate approach for "scale bridging."展开更多
