This study aimed to develop the seasonal forecast models of Korean dust days over South Korea in the springtime. Forecast mode was a ternary forecast (below normal, normal, above normal) which was classified based on the mean and the standard deviation of Korean dust days for a period of 30 years (1981-2010). In this study, we used three kinds of monthly data: the Korean dust days observed in South Korea, the National Center for Environmental Prediction in National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCEP/NCAR) reanalysis data for meteorological factors over source regions of Asian dust, and the large-scale climate indices offered from the Climate Diagnostic Center and Climate Prediction Center in NOAA. Forecast guidance consisted of two components; ordinal logistic regression model to generate trinomial distributions, and conversion algorithm to generate ternary forecast by two thresholds. Forecast guidance was proposed for each month separately and its predictability was evaluated based on skill scores. 展开更多

The size distribution of airborne dust particles is an important parameter in the measurement of dust emissions due to wind erosion,and a quantitative and accurate description is necessary.Observations regarding the size distribution of airborne dust particles are currently lacking in Tibetan Plateau(TP).This study aims to obtain a dust particle size distribution and compare the difference in spatial distribution at a field site(FS)and two urban observation sites(Minfeng and Hetian),in the north of the TP,under the condition of the dust-days and clear-days.The observation data was collected from 5 July to 4 August,2019.The mass concentration of dust(PM20)was measured with a 10-stage quartz crystal microbalance cascade impactor.The results suggested that 91.9%of the particles were less than 1.4μm on clear-days,and particles of d≥1.4μm increased to 27.2%with the occurrence of the dust events.More than 80%of the airborne dust particles were less than 1.4μm for each friction velocity.The proportion of d<0.7μm was the greatest at 3.0 m(above the surface,similarly hereinafter)on dust-days,while the proportion of d>0.7μm was the greatest at 0.5 m on clear-days.During urban observation,with the occurrence of dust events,the concentration of a particle size greater than 2.5μm increased most significantly in Minfeng,while the concentration of a particle size less than 0.7μm increased most significantly in Hetian.Moreover,the proportion of particles with d<0.7μm had the smallest difference,while the proportion of particles with d>1.4μm had the most obvious difference among these three sites. 展开更多

以大冶有色冶炼厂为中心,对其周边土壤和道路尘样品中的6种重金属Cu,Pb,Cr,Cd,Zn,Fe的含量进行测定,并探讨pH对道路尘及土壤中重金属释放的影响,以评估其释放特性。结果表明,样品中重金属含量从高到低为:Fe>Cu>Zn>Pb>Cr>... 以大冶有色冶炼厂为中心,对其周边土壤和道路尘样品中的6种重金属Cu,Pb,Cr,Cd,Zn,Fe的含量进行测定,并探讨pH对道路尘及土壤中重金属释放的影响,以评估其释放特性。结果表明,样品中重金属含量从高到低为:Fe>Cu>Zn>Pb>Cr>Cd(道路尘),Fe>Cu>Pb>Zn>Cr>Cd(土壤)。与土壤中的重金属浓度背景值相比,样品中重金属浓度明显偏高,表明冶炼厂附近重金属的污染比较严重。重金属在空间上分布均一,且各元素之间具有较强的相关性,说明其来源相似,均由金属冶炼等活动导致。重金属在酸性条件下的释放量远大于在中性及碱性条件下的释放量,约为9~10倍。随着释放时间的增加,重金属释放量先上升后下降,最后趋于稳定。 展开更多
