Fashion garments and apparels have been used everywhere to cope with the fashion era. These fashion garments and apparels are made of the fabrics of various structures and components through various processes. Among them gabardine is one of the most remarkable type of fabric and apparel dyeing is the latest process used for fashion apparel. From this research, the seam strength variations between dyed and un-dyed gabardine apparels after conceding the garment dyeing process can be known. It is a comparative research work which will deliver very effective knowledge about various types of seam, seam strength and seam performance. For comparative study, many dummy apparels body have been produced as samples which are dyed in Hams washing and dyeing limited. After that all samples have tested in Thermax woven dyeing laboratory. Since Bangladesh is a very potential fashion market and the fashion garments are being manufactured more and more. Hence the fashion trend is rapidly going to garments dyeing from conventional fabric/yarn dyeing processes. Gradually garments dyeing order are increasing higher to higher.展开更多

Being water insoluble, these dyes are reduced and solubilised with sodium sulphide at boil to develop affinity for cotton. Application of sulphide has generated global debate because of its eco-unfriendly technology of dyeing. In this work, attempts were made to substitute sodium sulphide with alkaline pectinase. Obtained results suggested the ability of the latter to cause effective reduction and solubilisation of sulphur dyes. Stability of reduction baths as well as colour fastness was also reported to be in line with those obtained using sodium sulphide.展开更多
Fe3O4-octadecyltrichlorosilane(Fe3O4-OTS)was synthesized and used to remove dyes in a competitive system.Fe3O4-OTS was prepared by slow hydrolysis of OTS in cyclohexane on the surface of Fe3O4obtained through coprec...Fe3O4-octadecyltrichlorosilane(Fe3O4-OTS)was synthesized and used to remove dyes in a competitive system.Fe3O4-OTS was prepared by slow hydrolysis of OTS in cyclohexane on the surface of Fe3O4obtained through coprecipitation method.Scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),and contact angle analyzer(CA)were used to analyze the properties of Fe3O4-OTS.Methyl orange(MO)and methylene blue(MB)were selected as model molecules to study the influence mechanism of p H and ionic strength on competitive adsorption.The results of EDS and CA indicated that Fe3O4 was modified successfully with OTS on the surface.Silicon appeared and carbon content increased obviously on the surface of adsorbent.Contact angle of adsorbent increased from 0~o to 107~o after being modified by OTS.Fe3O4-OTS showed good separation for MO and MB in competitive system,which has potential to separate dyes in sewage.Separation factor(β~OB)changed from 18.724 to 0.017,when p H changed from 7 to 12,revealing that MO and MB could be separated almost thoroughly by Fe3O4-OTS.p H could change the surface charge of Fe3O4-OTS and structure of dyes,and thus change the interactions of competitive system indirectly.Even though hydrophobic interaction was enhanced,ionic strength reduced the difference of electrostatic interaction between dyes and Fe3O4-OTS.So it is unfavorable to separate dyes with opposite charges when ionic strength increases.These findings may provide theoretical guidances to separate two-component dye pollutants.展开更多

How to measure the damage quickly and to evaluate it quantitatively are vital impor...It is well known that top dyeing is an Important step in wool processing, but it will result in the damage of fibre in normal dyeing. How to measure the damage quickly and to evaluate it quantitatively are vital important for wool industry and also interested for wool researchers. For the purpose, nineteen tops dyed in normal condition from three wool textile mills in China were tested with TENSOR, a bundle fibre tensile tester. The experimental results showed that the dyeing damage rate of bundle strength of these tops is 6% - 7% in average and some tops were higher than 10% dyeing damage. Meanwhile, the dyeing damages for different wool mills were discussed . It is obvious that bundle tensile test is an efficient and quick method to evaluate the damage caused by top dyeing and to identify the difference between wool mills in quality and quantity.展开更多

In 1st phase, for dyeing S/J cotton knit fabric with green walnut power ferrous sul...In this study, aqueous extraction method is used because of its high extraction ratio, light fastness and also functional properties. In 1st phase, for dyeing S/J cotton knit fabric with green walnut power ferrous sulfate is considered as a mordant. In this study, three different mordanting methods such as pre-, meta-, and post-mordanting are conveyed the dyeing process with the state of metallic mordant and without metallic salt mordants. In 2nd phase, in dyeing for fixation ferrous sulfate was considered as mordants. Furthermore, the analysis and evaluation of each colour dyed material was done through following two terms for instance CIELAB (L*, a*, and b*) and K/S values. According to AATCC test methods, colour fastness to washing, crocking, perspiration of the dyed samples is determined whereas according to the ISO standard, the colour fastness to light was estimated and tested. When dyeing was carried out on S/J cotton knit fabric through considering optimum parameter like at 80°C for 60 min and at pH 4 which showed optimum results. From the results we can see, very good wash fastness was obtained while there is no fading of the colour, whereas the outstanding and moderate level of colour fastness to light and crocking is achieved.展开更多
