In this paper, the role of discontinuities around tunnels in rockburst occurrence was studied. For this purpose, the Abaqus explicit code was used to simulate dynamic rock failure in deep tunnels. Material heterogeneity was considered using Python scripting in Abaqus. Rockbursts near fault regions in deep tunnels under static and dynamic loads were studied.Several tunnel models with and without faults were built and static and dynamic loads were used to simulate rock failure. The velocity and the released kinetic energy of failed rocks, the failure zone around the tunnel, and the deformed mesh were studied to identify stable and unstable rock failures. Compared with models without discontinuities, the results showed that the velocity and the released kinetic energy of failed rocks were higher, the failure zone around the tunnel was larger, and the mesh was more deformed in the models with discontinuities, indicating that rock failure in the models with discontinuities was more violent. The modeling results confirm that the presence of geological structures in the vicinity of deep excavations could be one of the major influence factors for the occurrence of rockburst. It can explain localized rockburst occurrence in civil tunnels and mining drifts. The presented methodology in this paper for rockburst analysis can be useful for rockburst anticipation and control during mining and tunneling in highly stressed ground.展开更多

文摘Rockburst has perennially posed a formidable challenge to the stability of underground engineering works, particularly under conditions of deep-seated high stress. This paper provides a comprehensive review of recent advancements in on-site research related to rockburst occurrences, covering on-site case analyses, monitoring methodologies, early warning systems, and risk(proneness)evaluation.Initially, the concepts and classifications of rockburst based on on-site understanding were summarized. The influences of structural planes(in various spatial distribution combinations),in-situ stress(particularly magnitude and direction of the principal stress),dynamic disturbances, and excavation profiles on rockburst were thoroughly assessed and discussed through the analysis of published rockburst cases and on-site survey results.Subsequently,a compendium of commonly employed on-site monitoring techniques was outlined, delineating their respective technical attributes.Particular emphasis is accorded to the efficacy of microseismic monitoring technology and its prospective utility in facilitating dynamic rockburst early warning mechanisms.Building upon this foundation, the feasibility of assessing rockburst propensity while considering on-site variables is verified, encompassing the selection and quantitative evaluation of pertinent indicators.Ultimately,a comprehensive synthesis of the paper is presented, alongside the articulation of prospective research goals for the future.

文摘Tensile failure(spalling or slabbing)often occurs on the sidewall of deep tunnel, which is closely related to the coupled stress state of deep rock mass under high pre-static load and dynamic disturbance. To reveal the mechanism of rock tensile failure caused by this coupled stress mode, the Brazilian disc tests were carried on red sandstone under high pre-static load induced by dynamic disturbance.Based on the pure static tensile fracture load of red sandstone specimen, two static load levels(80%and 90%of the pure static tensile fracture load)were selected as the initial high pre-static loading state, and then the dynamic disturbance load was applied until the rock specimen was destroyed. The dynamic disturbance loading mode adopted a sinusoidal wave(sine-wave)load,and the loading wave amplitude was 20%and 10%of the pure static tensile fracture load, respectively. The dynamic disturbance frequencies were set to 1,10,20,30,40,and 50 Hz.The results show that the tensile failure strength and peak displacement of red sandstone specimens under coupled load actions are lower than those under pure static tensile load, and both parameters decrease significantly with the increase of dynamic disturbance frequency. With the increase of dynamic disturbance frequency, the decrease range of tensile strength of red sandstone increased from 3.3%to 9.4%when the pre-static load level is 80%.While when the pre-static load level is 90%,the decrease range will increase from 7.4%to 11.6%.This weakening effect of tensile strength shows that the deep surrounding rock is more likely to fail under the coupled load actions of pre-static load and dynamic disturbance. In this tensile failure mechanism of the deep surrounding rock, the stress environment of deep sidewall rock determines that the failure mode of rock is a tensile failure, the pre-static load level dominates the tensile failure strength of surrounding rock, and dynamic disturbance promotes the strength-weakening effect and affects the weakening range.

文摘The presence of geological structures such as faults, joints, and dykes has been observed near excavation boundaries in many rockburst case histories. The presented methodology in this paper for rockburst analysis can be useful for rockburst anticipation and control during mining and tunneling in highly stressed ground.

文摘In the context of deep rock engineering, the in-situ stress state is of major importance as it plays an important role in rock dynamic response behavior. Thus, stress initialization becomes crucial and is the first step for the dynamic response simulation of rock mass in a high in-situ stress field. In this paper, stress initialization methods, including their principles and operating procedures for reproducing steady in-situ stress state in LS-DYNA,are first introduced. Then the most popular four methods,i.e.,explicit dynamic relaxation(DR)method,implicit-explicit sequence method,Dynain file method and quasi-static method, are exemplified through a case analysis by using the RHT and plastic hardening rock material models to simulate rock blasting under in-situ stress condition.Based on the simulations,it is concluded that the stress initialization results obtained by implicit-explicit sequence method and dynain file method are closely related to the rock material model, and the explicit DR method has an obvious advantage in solution time when compared to other methods.Besides that,it is recommended to adopt two separate analyses for the whole numerical simulation of rock mass under the combined action of in-situ stress and dynamic disturbance.

文摘A numerical code called RFPA-Dynamics was used to study the rockburst mechanism under dynamic load based on coupled static-dynamic analysis. The results show that dynamic disturbance has a very distinct triggering effect on rockburst.Under the dynamic load, rockburst is motivated by tensile stress formed by the overlapping of dynamic waves in the form of instantaneous open and cutting through of cracks in weak planes and pre-damaged areas.Meanwhile, the orientation of joint sets has an obvious leading effect on rockburst locations. Finally,a higher initial static stress state before dynamic loading can cause more pre-damaged area, thus leading to a larger rockburst scope.

文摘Large and super-large section chamber groups in coal mines are frequently affected by dynamic loads resulting from production activities such as roadway driving and blasting. The stability of the surrounding rock is poor, and it is difficult to control. In this paper,a similar simulation test was used to study the deformation and evolution laws of the surrounding rock of a triangle-shaped chamber group under different dynamic loads. The results showed that under dynamic loading, the vertical stress of the surrounding rock of the chamber group increased in an oscillatory form. The maximum stress concentration coefficient reached 4.09.The damage degree of the roof was greater than that of the two sides. The deformation of the roof was approximately 1.2 times that of the two sides. For the chamber closer to the power source, the stress oscillation amplitude of the surrounding rock was larger, and the failure was more serious. The force of the anchorage structure showed a phased increasing characteristic;additionally, the force of the anchorage structure on the adjacent side of the chambers was greater than that on the other side. This study reveals the deformation and failure evolution laws of the surrounding rock of large section chamber groups under dynamic loading.

文摘This study aimed to elucidate the strength weakening effect of high static pre-stressed rocks subjected to low-frequency disturbances under uniaxial compression.Based on the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)of granite under static loading,70%,80%,and 90%of UCS were selected as the initial high static pre-stress(σ_(p)),and then the pre-stressed rock specimens were disturbed by sinusoidal stress with amplitudes of 30%,20%,and 10%of UCS under low-frequency frequencies(f)of 1,2,5,and 10 Hz,respectively. The results show that the rockburst failure of pre-stressed granite is caused by low-frequency disturbance, and the failure strength is much lower than UCS.When theσp or f is constant, the specimen strength gradually decreases as the f or σ_(p) increases. The experimental study illustrates the influence mechanism of the strength weakening effect of high static pre-stress rocks under low-frequency dynamic disturbance, that is,high static pre-stress is the premise and leading factor of rock strength weakening, while low-frequency dynamic disturbance induces rock failure and affects the strength weakening degree.

文摘Blasting and breaking of hard roof are main inducing causes of rock bursts in coal mines with danger of rock burst, and it is important to find out the frequency spectrum distribution laws of these dynamic stress waves and rock burst waves for researching the mechanism of rock burst. In this paper,Fourier transform as a micro-seismic signal conversion method of amplitude-time character to amplitude-frequency character is used to analyze the frequency spectrum characters of micro-seismic signal of blasting, hard roof breaking and rock bursts induced by the dynamic disturbance in order to find out the difference and relativity of different signals. The results indicate that blasting and breaking of hard roof are high frequency signals, and the peak values of dominant frequency of the signals are single. However, the results indicate that the rock bursts induced by the dynamic disturbance are low frequency signals, and there are two obvious peak values in the amplitude-frequency curve witch shows that the signals of rock bursts are superposition of low frequency signals and high frequency signals. The research conclusions prove that dynamic disturbance is necessary condition for rock bursts, and the conclusions provide a new way to research the mechanism of rock bursts.

文摘A series of coupled static-dynamic loading tests is carried out in this study to understand the effect of slightly dynamic disturbance on the rocks under high static stress. The acoustic emission(AE)and digital image correlation(DIC)techniques are combined to quantitatively characterize the damage and fracturing behaviors of rocks. The effects of three influencing factors,i.e.initial static stress, disturbance amplitude, and disturbance frequency,on the damage and fracturing evolution are analyzed. The experimental results reveal the great differences in AE characteristics and fracturing behaviors of rocks under static loads and coupled static-dynamic loads. Both the Kaiser effect and Felicity effect are observed during the disturbance loading process. The crack initiation, stable and unstable propagation in the highly-stressed rocks can be triggered by cyclic disturbance loads, and more local tensile splitting cracks are found in the rocks subjected to coupled static-dynamic loads. The damage and fracturing evolution of rocks during cyclic disturbances can be divided into two stages,i.e.steady and accelerated stages, and the increase rate and proportion of each stage are greatly affected by these influencing factors.High initial static stress, low disturbance frequency, and high disturbance amplitude are considered to be adverse factors to the stability of the rocks, which would induce a high increase rate of the steady stage and a high proportion of the accelerated stage within the whole disturbance period.Based on the two-stage damage evolution trend,a linear-exponential damage model is employed to predict the instability of the rocks under coupled static-dynamic loads.

文摘Strainbursts induced by cyclic disturbance with low frequency(termed as cyclicinduced strainbursts)are major dynamic disasters during deep excavation and mining. There is currently no quantitative criterion available for the prediction of such disastrous events. In this study, based on true triaxial experiments,we analyzed the deformation characteristics, established two novel strain criteria for the cyclic-induced strainbursts, and explained the physical meaning of these criteria.Characteristic strains for the cyclic-induced strainbursts were defined, including the control strain ε_(ctr),the strain caused by the combined dynamic and static loading ε_(sd),and the ultimate strain ε_(u) after strainbursts. As indicated by the results, the deformation evolution of the cyclic-induced strainbursts shows remarkable fatigue characteristics, which resemble that of rock subjected to cyclic loading and unloading. In other words, there are three stages during deformation evolution, namely, initial rapid growth, uniform velocity growth after several periods of disturbance, and sudden sharp growth preceding the burst. The ultimate strain ε_(u) is insensitive to the tangential static stress and disturbance amplitude, but it changes nonlinearly with disturbance frequency. From the perspective of deformation, the occurrence of a cyclic-induced strainburst is controlled by the control strainε_(ctr).Thus,a control strain criterion is proposed;that is,when the stain ε_(sd) is larger than the control strain ε_(ctr),a strainburst will be induced by cyclic disturbance. Moreover, based on the statistical results,a strain ratio criterion is proposed;that is,when the strain ratio ε_(sd)/ε_(u) is greater than 30%,a cyclic-induced strainburst will be induced.

文摘With the excavation of underground opening, the roof rock block may fall under external dynamic disturbance. In this paper, the roof rock mass was simplified as a rock block system composed of trapezoidal rock blocks.A series of experiments and numerical simulations were performed to study the sliding process of the key block under the horizontal static clamping load and vertical impact disturbance. The propagation of stress wave in the block system were captured and analyzed by using high-speed camera and digital image correlation technique. The results reveal that a pendulum-type wave was generated due to the propagation and superposition of stress waves in the block system. Therefore, the governing mechanism of the sliding displacement of the key block was clarified based on the propagation of incident stress waves or pendulum-type waves.Meanwhile,it is found that the sliding distance of the key block decreases in a power function with the increasing friction coefficient,or decreases in a parabolic function with the increasing trapezoid internal angle. Finally,a case study on the roof block sliding of the roadway at a gold mine was conducted, and it is concluded that the sliding of the key block resulted from the coupled effects of"shear driving"and"low friction"driven by stress wave propagation, regardless of a single or multi-layer rock block system. These results may provide technical guideline for preventing rock-falling accidents caused by blasting distur-bances in underground mining.
