Information technology (IT) was one of the most intensively studied and extensively applied technologies in the 20th century and its research and application will be even more accelerated in the 21st century. The impact of IT is more farreaching than any one may have had imagined, encompassing all facets and sectors of society. Economically, e-commerce generated more than $1.5 trillion in the US in 2004 and is projected to be 30, 15 and 2.6% of the total manufacturing, whole sales and retail sales in the US in 2006 respectively. IT research in agriculture has so far been particularly applied to such fields as precision farming and bioinformatics and in extension and farming practices. As such, its potential application in agricultural e-commerce has only begun to be explored. The United States Department of Agriculture has identified four different functions that e-commerce firms perform in the agricultural sector. They are: (1) information distribution, (2) input supply, (3) commodity trading floor, and (4) logistics/supply chain management. Unlike other industrial products, agricultural products are much more diverse and difficult to process and handle. For instance, fruits and vegetables are perishable and have to reach the market and the hands of consumers within a short period of time. One of the problems for IT applications in agriculture is the lack of standard measures in characteristics and quality of perishable produce and processing foods. Standards are pre-requisites for effective IT application and e-commerce. According to the Global Commerce Initiative, standards bring scalability, portability and affordability to the business process. Standards speed up the supply chain and reduce errors and protect technology investments and ensure system to system interaction and interoperability. Because the complexity of issues involved in standardization, the process of standardization must involve the input and discussion from all segments of the society. Being the largest agricultural country in the world and one of the most active trading partners in the international market, China must also be involved in determining the standards for both domestic and international trades. These measures are the necessary foundations for e-commerce in agriculture. In this paper, we provide a review of the technological development of standardization and coding that are prerequisites for IT application in e-commerce. This understanding is important for professionals in China to promote e- commerce in agriculture. Finally, we propose that a national committee to be formed in China, which includes IT experts from private sectors, academic professionals and governmental officials. This committee should consider the progress being made elsewhere in the world, the unique properties of Chinese commodities and appropriate business models to determine a set of standard measures that are transportable and communicable digitally in the world market for China's e- commerce in agriculture. 展开更多

Electronic commerce is quickly increasing in several countries, most notably in developing countries. A new electronic-commerce segment known as social commerce has evolved due to the popularity of social media. Consumer trust is important to social commerce success and impacts purchase choices. In modern times, majority of businesses have changed how from the traditional businesses and migrated to social commerce. Electronic commerce was the first of its sort, followed by social commerce, which conducted business via social networking platforms. Identifying the factors that influence social commerce use enables businesses to enhance those features and boost revenue. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine how increased technology usage influences the social commerce activities of Ghanaian businessmen and women. A review of the literature resulted in the development of a conceptual model. Six hundred and twenty-five responses from Ghanaian enterprises and women who use e-commerce platforms were used to assess the conceptual approach. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) was used to validate the model. The reliability and validity of the measuring apparatus were determined using measurement model analysis. To examine the model’s fit and assumptions, we used structural model analysis. Five hypotheses were supported by the structural model data. Effort Expectancy, Perceived Ease of Use, Performance Expectancy, Perceived Utility, and Trust were shown to be the most influential criteria affecting behavioral intention to use s-commerce in Ghana. The findings of this research have major significance for academics and practitioners of social trade. 展开更多

It was mentioned that the development of the ICT in Jordan brings benefits to the enterprises and their TPs. In this paper the EC-B2B systems’ readiness in Jordan is defined as the degree of preparation of a nation or community to participate in and benefits from ICT development. The government in Jordan has taken forceful measures towards adoption IT and IS applications and Internet awareness. In 2010, it was reported from the DOS in Jordanthat the percentage of individual Internet usage did not exceed 4.7 percent of the population inJordan[1]. This paper highlighted through subsections on the benefits and risks faced EC-B2B system adoption in Jordan. Based on the recent studies and reports in Jordan, the EC-B2B system adoption was mainly adopted by large enterprises in the supply chain rather than by SMEs. The study concluded that the main two barriers of ICT development and adoption inJordanare organizational readiness including lack of new education methods, and lack of information and knowledge. 展开更多

This paper focuses on exploring the unique features of mobile commerce as compared with traditional e-commerce. Also, there are still some limitations arisen in m-commerce in contrast to web-based e-commerce. Typically, online transactions require a significant level of human intervention. Customers undertake the search for products, services, potential vendors and business partners. They evaluate alternatives, decide what goods to buy and when, from which vendor, and how much they are willing to pay for. They engage in potential negotiations, carry out the transactions and so on. As those markets become mature, new products and services, as well as new practices, are beginning to appear. There is already ample evidence that agent-based technology will be crucial for these developments, reflecting that both buyers and sellers being vigorously seek techniques to improve their performance. This work surveys several of these agents that help electronic commerce systems by describing their roles in the context of a Consumer Buying Behavior (CBB) model. The CBB model presented augments traditional marketing models with concepts from Software Agents research to accommodate electronic markets. 展开更多

跨境电子商务综合试验区建设是我国积极推进制度型开放的重要举措,税费优惠和管理服务完善等跨境电商改革不仅能够激励外贸增长,还会对出口企业产生成本降低效应、人力资本提升效应和内部治理优化效应等积极影响,从而促进出口企业的数... 跨境电子商务综合试验区建设是我国积极推进制度型开放的重要举措,税费优惠和管理服务完善等跨境电商改革不仅能够激励外贸增长,还会对出口企业产生成本降低效应、人力资本提升效应和内部治理优化效应等积极影响,从而促进出口企业的数字技术创新。将跨境电子商务综合试验区建设作为一项准自然实验,采用沪深A股出口企业2007—2020年的数据,运用多期双重差分模型分析发现:跨境电子商务综合试验区建设(跨境电商改革)显著促进了试验区出口企业的数字技术发明专利增长,跨境电商改革可以通过降低融资成本和经营成本、提高技术人员占比和高学历人才占比、提升公司治理水平和内部控制质量等路径促进出口企业的数字技术创新,跨境电商改革对融资约束程度较高、地区人力资源丰富、ESG表现较差、环境不确定性较强的出口企业具有更为显著的数字技术创新促进作用。应持续推进和不断深化跨境电商改革,并充分发挥制度型开放对企业创新发展的激励作用。 展开更多
