The Study of Excitation of the Earthquake to Earth's Rotation

Usingthefaultplaneparameters,thelocationofepicenterandtheexpressiongivenby Dahlenaswellasthestepfuction ,theaccumulativechangeoftheaxialandequatorialmomentof inertiaoftheearthfor 1 977～ 1 994dataisestimatedinthispaper .Resultshaveshownthat changeofpolemotiondirectioninducedbysingleearthquakeisindependentofthesizeofearth quake .Theearthquaketendstomaketherotationalpoledrifttowardsthedirectionof 1 2 5～ 1 5 0 E .Thisdirectionisroughlydifferenttothatoneinferredfromobservations.Accumulative changesofthetwoequatorialprincipalmomentsandaxialmomentofinertiaoftheearthexhibit secularbehaviour.Thechangedependstoalargeextentupontheslipangleofthefaultmove ment.
