Spatial Differentiation and Convergence Trend of High-quality Development Level of China’s Tourism Economy

This paper aims to interpret the connotation of high-quality development of tourism economy(HQTE)from the perspective of the new development concepts of innovation,coordination,green,openness and sharing,and then to evaluate the spatial differenti-ation of China’s HQTE based on provincial panel data from 2009 to 2018.Specifically,we employ the spatial convergence model to ex-plore the absolute and conditionalβconvergence trends of HQTE in the whole country and the eastern,central and western regions of China.Our empirical results reveal that:1)within the decade,from 2009 to 2018,regions of China with the highest HQTE index is its eastern region followed by the central region and then the western region,but the fastest growing one is the western region of China fol-lowed by the central region and then the eastern region.2)Whether or not the spatial effect is included,there are absolute and condition-alβconvergence in HQTE in the whole country and aforementioned three regions.3)The degree of government attention as well as the level of economic development and location accessibility are the positive driving factors for the convergence of HQTE in the whole country and the three regions.The degree of marketization and human capital have not passed the significance test either in the whole country or in the three regions.The above conclusions could deepen the understanding of the regional imbalance and spatial conver-gence characteristics of HQTE,clarify the primary development objects,and accomplish the goal of China’s HQTE.

Using Circular Economics Strategies to Manage Tourism on Remote Islands:A SMART Approach

Circular economics theory offers destination managers of remote islands a solution-oriented approach to environmental sustainability. This paper examines the practical benefits of this theory that will support the development of a circular economy regarding sustainable island tourism (SIT). The aim of this paper is to inform discussions regarding the feasibility of applying a practice theory that emphasises changes in the behaviours across three segments, visitors, residents, and enterprises using SMART technologies. To achieve this objective, a SMART indicator system (SIS) was used to identify current practices that would support a circular economy (CE). The key innovation of this study is the creation of a proposed framework that may inform best practices for SIT in the future. The findings highlight the potential opportunity of evidenced-based planning to deliver a circular economy strategy (CES) for remote islands in the future. These insights can potentially impact the way that local authorities and destination managers approach the planning of tourism for six islands along the west coast of Ireland.

Leishmania in an Ecotourism Area in Rio de Janeiro: Still a Concern for Public Health?

We evaluated some eco-epidemiological characteristics of the sand fly fauna in an ecotourism area in the Atlantic Forest located in Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil. During a period of one year, sandflies were collected in three different locations, where the sampled residences were located, respectively, one inside the forest, the other two, respectively at the edge of the forest and the other in a more urbanized area. These three types of ecotopes were evaluated: home, peridomicile and kennel. Four hundred and fifty-six sandflies were collected and six species belonging to five genera were identified: Migonemyia migonei, Lutzomyia longipalpis, Nyssomyia intermedia, Evandromyia sallesi, Evandromyia edwardsi and Brumptomyia wedge. The two most abundant species collected were M. migonei and L. longipalpis, contributing 70% and 18% respectively, totaling 88% of the individuals collected. The results suggested that modifications of the natural environment due to anthropic action probably resulted in changes in the composition of the sand fly population. At point (3), where spraying occurred irregularly, even representing a degraded environment, only one species was captured, M. migonei. Differently at points (1) and (2), areas located respectively in the interior and on the edge of the Atlantic Forest, a greater number of sand fly species was observed. However, after a few years, anthropic actions ceased, followed by the implementation of reforestation projects and currently the landscape is very different, showing considerable forest recovery. For this reason, ecotourism activities are increasing in the area, creating potentially dangerous conditions caused by the exposure of greater numbers of people and dogs to insect vectors. Therefore, the implementation of environmental education projects is essential. However, we suggest that the use of warning signs to be placed at the entrances to the main traffic routes, alerting tourists to the risk of infection and indicating protective measures, would be very useful.

From the perspective of eco-tourism and principles for sustainable development,based on the analysis of tourist resources of Wenxian Manor in Wuchang City,the paper has proposed development principles for Wenxian Manor,and identified its development tendency and tourism project in the general plan,division of functional zones,development of tourist products,organization of tourism route,construction of tourism service facilities,and transport planning.The concept of eco-tourism has been fully integrated into the general plan,striving to achieve the harmonious unity between human and nature in the development of Wenxian Manor.

Plights and Outlet:Environmental Problem Analysis of Agricultural Eco-tourism

As agricultural eco-tourism development played a vital role in promoting rural economic and social development and constructing new harmonious countryside,the paper had analyzed environmental problem produced during its development,pointed out that blind development of agricultural eco-tourism had seriously destroyed resources and ecological environment and that tourist infrastructure construction and urbanization had ruined rural unique natural landscape.In view of current situation of environment,it also studied reasons causing environmental disruption,which lied in insufficient guidance and support of government,deficient scientific development planning and management system,and poor environmental consciousness of tourist operators and tourists.On this basis,it summarized that agricultural eco-tourism development should follow principles of sustainable development,synchronization between development and protection,and coordination between tourism development and environmental protection.It concluded proper ways to develop agricultural eco-tourism,and emphasized that it should draw up scientific and reasonable development planning,enhance government's macro-administration,establish and perfect ecological compensation mechanism,and strive to cultivate people's environmental awareness.

Tourism Development Paths for the Leap-forward Development of Ecological Civilization—A Case Study of Northern Doumen District in Zhuhai City,China

A section more than 300 km2 in the Northern Domen District of Zhuhai City was designed to the Ecological Agricultural Zone of Zhuhai City,on the basis of introducing connotations of ecological civilization and basic conditions of this district,it was proposed that the leap-forward development pattern from agricultural civilization to ecological civilization should be applied,and 2 realization paths were summarized as developing urban agriculture and ecotourism.Ecotourism development was taken as the focus,tourist resources in the study area introduced,and bottleneck of its ecotourism development analyzed(lack of unified planning,poor consciousness of protecting historical and cultural resources;backward infrastructure,poor attractiveness for investment;insufficient propaganda and popularity;backward product development and insufficient integration of existing scenic spots.From the perspective of bottleneck of ecotourism development,the development of eco-culture and sightseeing tourism was proposed,specifically,to build a tourism spatial layout of "one axis,two wings and four centers";establish a functional circle of eco-cultural tourism,including cultural and recreational ecosphere centering on Mount Huangyang,tidal land water system ecosphere with key nodes of Dongjiao and Xijiao Villages,modern eco-agricultural sightseeing tourist circle,intangible cultural tourist circle of the waterfront Baijiao Township.

Cooperative Game Analysis of Tourism Enterprise Coupling from the Perspective of Industrial Eco-Network

Based on the introduction of the connotations and characteristics of tourism industrial eco-network,it has expatiated on the connotations of and approaches to enterprise coupling in tourism industrial eco-network.As there are different understandings and definitions of these connotations,the following four aspects must be achieved in order to realize coupling in the real sense for the enterprises in the network.① Establish the idea of "the whole is larger than the sum of all the parts",and construct interests community of tourism industrial eco-network.② Construct cooperation mechanism of joint struggle to transfer the advantages of the single to the advantages of the whole.③ Create and maintain strong service culture.④ Avoid as many service blunders as possible and construct damage warning mechanism in industrial eco-network.With the construction of the game model of tourism enterprise coupling and corresponding analysis,the results indicate that the mode of loose cooperation between enterprises in the tourism industry could hardly reach any forceful binding agreements.Consequently it is hard to realize the coordinated effects brought about by the cooperative game of tourism enterprise coupling and these enterprises would often come to a "prisoner dilemma" because of present tiny benefits.In the end,it suggests that during the process of competition tourism enterprises should also strengthen mutual cooperation as relying upon the platform of industrial eco-network.

Study on the Development and Planning of Eco-tourism Manor

With the rapid development of eco-tourism and "happy farmhouse" tourism, eco-tourism manor had received more attentions and developed vigorously. The paper had proposed the concept of eco-tourism manor, and studied its design and project planning based on the analysis of development situation, existing problems and development opportunities of eco-tourism manor in China. Then, it had analyzed the economic, social and environmental effects. Finally, in view of problems existing in eco-tourism and "happy farmhouse" tourism development, countermeasures and methods for eco-tourism manor development had been proposed from the perspective of financing channels, planning design, residents' benefits, service facilities and management, so as to provide a guidance for planning, construction and development of eco-tourism manor.

Development Strategies of Tea Culture Tourism in the Age of Experience Economy

Experience economy is the fourth development phase following the agrarian economy,the industrial economy and the service economy.In terms of tourist economy,travelling itself is a kind of experience activity,thus such an attribute determines that tourist products should satisfy the individualized needs of tourists.This study proposes that the theory of experience economy can be applied in the development of tea culture tourism to explore the functions of tea culture which could be experienced by tourists,such as leisure experience,health experience,culture experience and so on,and meanwhile,gives strategies of developing tea culture tourism in the age of experience economy.

SWOT Analysis and Development Countermeasures of Taohua Mountain Ecotourism Agricultural Park in Ya’an City

By using SWOT Analysis, the internal strengths and weakness, and the external opportunities and challenges of Taohua Mountain Ecotourism Agricultural Park were discussed. The result showed that Taohua Mountain was unique in scenery, rich in rural tourism resources and broad in market prospect. However, the tourism products were monotonous, lack of characteristics and depth; the ecological environment was weak; the tourism staff was with low quality; some parts of the area were in poor sanitary condition, restrained by season and periodicity. Meanwhile, there existed some opportunities and challenges in this park. The opportunities mainly contained policy opportunity and transference of tourists’ preference. The challenges primarily included challenges from urban tourism spots of Ya’an City and surrounding cities, and threats of sustainable use of tourism resources resulting from blind exploitation of fruit production area. And the corresponding development countermeasures were put forward, that is, to develop diversified tourism programs, to allocate mountainous resources according to local conditions, to train the local tourism staff, to dredge the area with poor sanitation, to diversify business with other industries supporting the development of tourism agriculture.

Evaluation and Development of the Forest Ecotourism Resources on Walking Route from Pai Town to Mêdog County

Pai Town-Medog County Route is known as the first hiking route in China, which is a part of Tibet tourism product, as well as a business card of Linzhi tourism. The route is abundant with natural and human resources. In the research, quantitative and qualitative methods were integrated and scientific evaluation and analysis were made on tourism resources along the route according to National Standard of Classification, Investigation and Evaluation of Tourism Resources, with countermeasures proposed.

Study on Ecological Folklore Tourism Development of Xi'an Chanba River Ecological Area
