Ecological Marxism and Reconstruction of China's Ecological Values

The core and connotation of ecological Marxism was analyzed. The reality significance of reconstructing ecological value in China was discussed. Ways to construct ecological value were proposed in the end. Correct analysis and understanding of ecological Marxist theory has a pos- itive and far-reaching significance for the whole society to establish the correct ecological values, to deepen scientific understanding on the relation- ship between man and nature, and to build a harmonious socialist society.

Research on Educating College Students’ Ecological Values from the Perspective of Marxist Ecological View

The Marxist ecological view suggests a dialectical relationship between humans and nature.Only by integrating the initiative of human beings with developing laws of the nature,can we achieve the harmonious coexistence and development of humans and nature.From the perspective of Marxist ecological view,colleges should strengthen the education of college students’ecological values and guide them to have a deeper command of the true nature of Marxist ecological view.The author explores and analyzes the Marxist ecological view,and come up with an effective strategy for teaching college students’ecological values under the Marxist ecological view,hoping to help college students develop correct ecological values.

Urban Vegetation Landscape Fragmentation and the Change of Ecological Values in Shenzhen

Due to the increasing man-made activities,the vegetation landscape in the rapidly urbanized areas has changed dramatically.Based on the theory of landscape ecology and the evaluation method of ecosystem service function,this study took the vegetation of Shenzhen City as the research object,and used TM image as the main data source in 1985,1995,2005 and from Vol.4 of 2015 with the support of remote sensing and GIS technology to analyze the variation of vegetation landscape fragmentation and its ecological change.The results showed that the vegetation landscape fragmentation in Shenzhen City was significant in the past 30 years,and the vegetation landscape was the main characteristic in the fluctuation trend.The change trajectory of the vegetation landscape was the main focus,and the woodland land area was the largest land for construction.The fragmentation of vegetation landscape reduced the overall value of ecosystem services and hindered the function of life support systems.

Categorized Analysis of Forest Ecological Values in the China’s Conversion Cropland to Forest Program

The China’s Conversion Cropland to Forest Program(CCFP)is one of the largest national ecological construction programs,which has effectively improved ecological environment and produced large ecological benefi t.To provide references for further improving ecological benefi t of CCFP,we analyzed the features,differences and relationships of the categorized forest ecological“benefi t value”(B-V)s in 3 kinds of forest restoration ways in different regions in CCFP,using the data of Chinese Forest Ecosystem Research Network(CFERN)from 1999 to 2013 and the methods of the national standards of(LY/T1606-2003),(LY/T1721-2008)and(LY/T1952-2011).The result showed that annual B-Vs of unit area varied in the range of 3.5-10.0 e4 RMBs/hm2·a.Water conservation B-Vs and species conservation B-Vs are the 2 largest constituents,nutrient accumulation B-V was the least in total B-Vs.The B-Vs performed inconsistently among the forest restoration ways and different regions.The rank of average annual total B-Vs of unit area from high to low was“hillside forest conservation”,“returning cropland to forest”,“afforestation on suitable barren hills and wasteland”.Species conservation B-Vs and water conservation B-Vs in southern regions were higher than that of northern and northwestern regions in China.The hot and rainy regions could produce higher species conservation B-Vs.The regression analysis indicated that water conservation B-Vs had signifi cantly positive correlation with the relevant total B-Vs and positive correlation with the relevant atmosphere purification B-Vs whether in regional or in unit area scale.Unit area species conservation B-V was negatively correlated with the relevant nutrient accumulation B-Vs except the way of“afforestation on suitable barren hills and wasteland”.Regional total species conservation B-Vs had signifi cantly negative correlation with its relevant nutrient accumulation B-Vs except“hillside forest conservation”way.We suggest that suitable forest restoration ways must be selective according to the regional specifi c,B-V features and local ecological goals.

Thinking about Value Realization of Ecological Products under the Background of Urban-rural Integration in Chengdu“Western Control”Area

Chengdu's development strategy of“western control”has laid a solid ecological background for 8 western districts,cities and counties and cultivated good ecological resources.The integrated urban-rural development in the new era will realize the balanced development of urban and rural areas and give full play to the value of rural ecological resources through the“powerful combination”of urban and rural areas.To realize the urban-rural integration and high-quality rural development in Chengdu“western control”area,it is necessary to enhance the awareness of ecological resources and ecological products,and carry out unified planning of ecological infrastructure,ecological material products and ecological service products in the whole“western control”area.Meantime,ecological restoration must be carried out scientifically,and scene design for value transformation of ecological products should be implemented innovatively.

Estimates of loss in ecosystem service values of Songnen plain from 1980 to 2000

Ecosystem services are premises for human beings to exist and develop in the world, and it is of importance to study effects of land use change on ecosystem functions. Songnen plain, located in Northeast China, is one of the national key bases for agricultural production. Because there were remarkable variations in land use in recent years, it can supply specific foundation for protection and restoration of regional eco-environment to explore changes in its values of ecosystem services. This study aims to qualify long-term changes in land use of Songnen plain from 1980 to 2000, and to explore the impact of land use change on ecosystem services. With 2-period land use data using RS and GIS, this paper analyzed changes in land use and in ecosystem service values using the ecosystem service value coefficients (VC) put forward by Costanza et al. Results showed that from 1980 to 2000, area of rangeland, water area and wetlands and area of cropland decreased, but urban area and unused land increased. Due to cropland's comparatively low VC and comparatively high VC of wetlands and water area, increment in cultivated land could not offset the total decrement in regional ecosystem service values because of the decrease in area of wetlands and water area. Meanwhile, city sprawl has also led to loss of ecological values. Total ecosystem service values of the study area reduced dramatically, from 34,926.10×106$ to 31,744.54×106$ in the period 1980-2000. This represents a 9.11% net decline in annual value of ecosystem services in the study area.

Land Use Change and Its Impact on Values of Ecosystem Services in the West of Jilin Province

According to interpreting the LANDSAT TM/ETM images of 1986 and 2002, the spatial-temporal characteristics of land use changes were analyzed during 16 years base on GIS. In addition, the change of ecosystem services due to land use change was estimated by the method of vaulting global ecosystem services. The result shows that there were rapid increases in the area of cropland, saline-alkaline land, and dramatic decreases in grassland, water area and wetland between 1986 and 2002. The annual value of the ecosystem services was declined from 767.1 ×10s Yuan/a in 1986 to 624.1 × 10s Yuan/a in 2002, the estimated annual ecosystem service value declined by 18. 6 % （i. e. 1.6% per year） between 1986 and 2002. It indicates that there had been a sever harm to ecosystem functions and services, which results from the deterioration of ecological environment and the adjustment of land use that aim to currently economic benefit.

Functions of Mulberry in the Development of Ecological Animal Husbandry and Development Ideas

Ecological animal husbandry is an animal husbandry industry system integrating ecological benefit, economic benefit and social benefit. Breeding cycle is one of the main patterns of ecological animal husbandry development, but breeding cycle does not form a relatively closed cycle of endogenous resources. In recent years, forage value and ecological value of mulberry have made some progresses in different research areas and angles, but the thought and practice of both forage and ecological value of mulberry has not been systematically interpreted and researched. Based on the short board of animal husbandry development and the advan- tage of mulberry, animal husbandry and mulberry were complemented and fused, and relatively closed planting and raising ecological recycling pattern with mulberry as the axis was raised. Phased scientific research and production test data were obtained, and the problems and development suggestions were put forward in the following aspects ： selection of mulberry varieties with both forage and ecological value, cost control of mulberry with both forage and ecological value, quality and safety control system of forage mulberry, orientation of feeding value of forage mulberry.

Analysis on Landscape Ecological Risk of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateaus:A Case Study on Niyang River Basin

Taking Niyang River Basin as an example, applying with the indices of landscape pattern, the indices of ecological risk of ecosystems are calculated in this paper, which takes the value of ecological loss of main ecosystem as the evaluation standard and takes into account the impacts of probability or the velocity of main hazards and event of the ecosystem. And the grades of ecological risk are assessed. According to the results of assessment, the ecological risk grades of the basin are divided into five classes. From the first grade risk to the fifth grade risk, the values of regional risk indices gradually reduce. The first grade risk areas mainly distribute in Niyang river and its branches downstream and the surrounding areas of main towns. And the basin area of non-valley region and the headstream regions of the branches are the fifth grades risk areas. This evaluation results provide the basis to the regional sustainable development.

Three-Dimensional Green Biomass and Environmental and Ecological Benefits of Plants in Yu Yam Ancestral Garden

Yu Yam Ancestral Garden is one of the four famous gardens in Lingnan,China.This study was carried out with the methods of survey and analysis,field measurement and selecting spatial samples methods,dividing Yu Yam Ancestral Garden into 11 plots,for undertaking initial quantitative research on the three-dimensional green biomass(TGB)and environmental ecological benefits(EEB)of the plants.The results showed thatthe arbor played a decisive role in TGB of the Yu Yam Ancestral Garden sample plot,in which the maximum contribution value was evergreen trees.And the Pearson correlation significance analysis was carried out on 11 indicators of the plant morphology and the TGB of the trees-shrubs,drawing a conclusion that the main influencing factor for TGB was the ratio of trees-shrubs,and the simulation equation was Y=2,357.67X3+176.707.EEB of the plants was positively correlated with TGB.A very good way of understanding of the correlation between the TGB of plants and their EEB was proposed,which could provide objective and quantitative theoretical reference data for the plant arrangement of arbor,shrubs and grasses in artificial garden green spaces.It is helpful to understand the importance of artificial garden green spaces ecological value.

Estimation of Economic and Ecological Value of Raising Sheep in Pastoral Area

Tibetan sheep is a unique breed of livestock in Alpine pastoral areas,which is one of the main economic pillars of animal husbandry in pastoral areas,in order to analyze and compare the estimated the economic and ecological benefits of Tibetan sheep under different feeding modes,this paper used a simplified model from multiple angles of animal production,economics and Ecology,The results show that:(i)Under the traditional grazing condition,the annual income of raising one ewe is only 23.4 yuan;(ii)Under the high-efficiency breeding mode,the average income of ewes bred by high-efficiency technology was 168 yuan/(head·year),which was 7 times higher than that of ewes under traditional grazing;each lamb could produce an indirect economic benefit of 500 yuan;(iii)The ecosystem service value affected by each Tibetan sheep through grassland was above 150000 yuan.

Relative Ecological Value of Major Plants in Minqin Desert Area

This paper analyzed relative ecological value of several major plants in Minqin desert grassland using layered projection of plant canopy. The results showed that ecological functions of natural Nitraria tangutorum and Ephedra sinica woods of a unit area were much better than those of artifi cial Haloxylon ammodendron woods, relative ecological value of N. tangutorum, E. sinica and Artemisia desertorum were much higher than that of artifi cial H. ammodendron woods. Layered projection explains clearly the ecological functions and relative ecological value of desert vegetation of the same coverage. It is inaccurate to indicate wind prevention and sand fi xation of desert vegetation in deserts using ecological function service value and ecological niche calculated on the basis of two-dimensional vegetation coverage, but three-dimensional projection degree should be applied to indicate ecological functions and relative ecological value of vegetation. Application of layered projection of plants in calculating ecological functions and relative ecological value of desert plants(vegetation) is the innovation point of this research.

Study on Consistent Agricultural Compensation Standards for Ecosystem and Ecological Value

Chinese and international studies on agricultural ecological compensation standards fall into two categories:While some focus on the cost of ecological protection,others proceed from the value of ecological services.Cost and value are two aspects of an integrated input-output system,but most existing studies on both types of compensation standards are independent of each other.Drawing upon the reasonable elements from both types of studies to overcome each other’s one-sidedness,this paper has created a“model of consistent compensation standards for the ecosystem and ecological value,”integrating the research approaches for both types of compensation standards under the same analytical framework.Through the application and analysis of this model,this paper has verified the model’s theoretical and practical significance in correcting the one-sidedness of each type of research.The principles and methodologies for creating the model may be further extended to research on agricultural ecological compensation standards under different conditions.In some circumstances,the ability of relatively redundant resources to create ecological value is overlooked.To address this problem,this paper employs a linear programming(LP)sensitivity analysis instrument to correct the model’s initial optimal solutions and arrive at consistent compensation standards that satisfy the consistency between ecosystem and ecological value,thus perfecting the theoretical and methodological system created by this paper for research on agricultural ecological compensation standards.

Theoretical Research,Practice Exploration and Policy Suggestions on Scenescape Development and Ecological Value Transformation in Chengdu’s Park City Construction

The“Park City”concept presents a new,urban development model that can be used as a guide for planning the growth of a city.Advancing the transformation of Chengdu into a park city is an important and unique strategic option for maintaining and strengthening the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.The construction of a park city in Chengdu has many potentially positive and favorable outcomes,including maintaining natural ecosystems while improving biodiversity,livability,and enhancing the city’s historical and cultural heritage,all while establishing Chengdu as a national leader for this new urban development model.In recent years,park city scenescape modeling and the resulting ecological value transformations have been analyzed through theory,mechanism designs,and limited practice,but throughout the explorations on scenescape building and ecological value transformations,the actual construction of a park city is still facing many problems.This article argues that Chengdu should take lessons from the advanced experience in urban ecological construction efforts of other cities,both in China and overseas,focusing on sustained scenescape building,theoretical research in ecological value transformations,establishing meaningful and compatible interaction mechanisms between ecological value transformations and capital markets,improving the levels of planning and designing needed for scenescape building,establishing innovative scenescape building and ecological value transformations management systems and mechanisms,and cultivating park city scenescape brands.Related and detailed scenescape building and ecological value transformation measurement and policy suggestions are also provided in this article.

Estimation of Relative Ecological Value of Returning Farmland to Forest & Mountain Enclosure for Grazing Prohibition——A case study in Yongxing Township of Jingyuan County,Gansu Province

[Objective]Returning farmland to forest and mountain enclosure for grazing prohibition ecological effect and economy rationality were explored.[Methods]A case study of returning farmland to forest and barren hills grazing prohibition in Yongxing Township of Jingyuan County was used to discuss and estimate the relative ecological function and relative ecological value.[Results]1）The ecological value of the forest of returning farmland was far more than the sum of the ecological value of farm crops and the agricultural output,and also more than the national subsidy standard.So the state policy of returning farmland to forests is not only favorable to local eco-environment restoration,but also reasonable in economic development.2）The ecological value of mountain enclosure for grazing prohibition was less than the opportunity cost of prohibiting grazing,also less than the national subsidy standard.The sum of the relative ecological value of prohibiting grazing and the state subsidies was more than the opportunity cost of prohibiting grazing.However,the ecological value of new vegetation through returning farmland to forest project was greater than the China＇s average ecological value of grassland.[Conclusion]The relative ecological value can be used to solve the problems in the equivalent conversion among various ecological indexes and between ecological indexes and economic indexes.

Research on the Realization Mechanism of and Approach to Ecological Product Valuations

Ecological product is an innovative practice for ecological valuations in China. Due to the influence of historical conditions and development stages in China, research on the realization of ecological valuations has lagged. In the new era, the construction of an ecological civilization guided by the "Two Mountains" theory has been promoted to the national strategic level and is supporting the growth of theoretical research and practical exploration based on the understanding of ecological product values. We want to innovate and improve the system used to realize the value of ecological products by applying the existing research, which focuses on the concept definition of ecological products and their correlation theories. Through systematic expansion and upgrades in this system, the evaluation accuracy of ecological products can be improved, providing valuable references for further practical exploration and promoting an ecological culture in China.

Land cover change and eco-environmental quality response of different geomorphic units on the Chinese Loess Plateau

Land cover in the Chinese Loess Plateau has undergone dramatic changes since the late 1980s.Revealing the trend in land cover change and eco-environmental quality response of different geomorphic units in this stage is a realistic requirement for promoting sustainable development of the Chinese Loess Plateau.Based on the data of geomorphic units and land cover in 1990,2000,2010 and 2018 of the Chinese Loess Plateau,we studied the trend of land cover change and eco-environmental quality response of different geomorphic units by using a significance index of land cover change,a proportion index of land cover change and an eco-environmental response model.The results indicated that from 1990 to 2018,the areas of forestland and construction land substantially increased,whereas those of cropland,grassland,wetland and unused land considerably decreased.Land cover change exhibited large geomorphic differences,and the main conversion of land cover was from cropland into other land types.Unstable trend of land cover change in the loess tablelands and sandy loess hills declined,whereas the unstable trends in the other geomorphic units enhanced.Eco-environmental quality varied among different geomorphic units.The expansion of construction land and degradation of forestland,grassland and wetland resulted in the deterioration of eco-environmental quality.The conversion of cropland and unused land into forestland and grassland,and the conversion of grassland into forestland were the main factors that drove the improvement of eco-environmental quality.The findings of this study may provide theoretical reference and support decision making for the optimization of land use structure and the improvement of eco-environmental quality on the Chinese Loess Plateau.

The value of vegetation ecosystem services:a case of Qinling-Daba Mountains

According to differences in vegetation types and their coverage, combining the latest research, using theory and method on the value of vegetation ecosystem services, this paper not only calculated goods produced by different types of vegetation but also estimated the value of various vegetation ecosystem services and set up database, GIS and eco-account of vegetation ecosystem. The result was as follows: the value of vegetation's primary productivity, soil and fertility conservation, water conservation, CO 2 fixation and O 2 release was 199.6 billion yuan/a, 22.64 billion yuan/a, 22.66 billion yuan/a, 352.24 billion yuan/a and 374.19 billion yuan/a, respectively. The total value of ecosystem services was 968.33 billion yuan/a. The temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest had the highest contribution rate, accounting for 16.42%. The result of value can reflect regional reality more exactly.

Composition and Value Orientation of Urban Landscape

Based on the analysis of the urban landscape and its composition,main problems of urban landscape at the early stage of urbanization were summarized,including more attention to the technical content of urban landscape,valuing transformation but belittling protection,emphasizing uniformity,ignoring the diversity,lack of scientific planning,and neglecting the value orientation. It is expected that the construction of urban landscape may return to its aesthetic value,practical value,ecological value and other aspects of value orientation. It is believed that the urban landscape is both a type of perception and experience. It can not only maintain the cultural heritage and the evolution of civilization,but also maintain the integration of the biological and physical environment,play the role of diversification in the urban public open space,and undertake social functions such as ecological,disaster prevention,waterlogging,and water conservancy at the same time of protecting and lighting the environment.

Ecosystem Services Evaluation of Karst New Urban Areas Based on Net Primary Productivity of Guanshanhu District, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China

Net Primary Productivity (NPP) is the basis of the material and energy transport calculation in ecosystem studies. NPP directly reflects the production capacity of plant communities under natural conditions. Ecosystem services are hot topics in the field of ecology. Many studies calculate ecosystem service value based on NPP. Taking Guanshanhu District of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province as the research object, using TM, ETM+, Gaofen2 and MOD17A3HGF.006 as data sources, this paper analyzed the change of ecosystem service value based on NPP in 2000, 2010 and 2020. The results showed that the area of forest ecosystem increased during 2000-2010 and decreased during 2010-2020. The artificial surface grew rapidly from 1146.82 hm2 to 7544.29 hm2 during 2000-2020. The farmland ecosystem decreased from 13308.29 hm2 to 6342.33 hm2 during 2000-2020. With the dynamic changes in ecosystem spatial distribution and component structure, the total NPP in 2000, 2010 and 2020 was 12.58 × 104 t, 11.90 × 104 t and 11.78 × 104 t, respectively, showing a decreasing trend. The total value of natural and semi-natural ecosystems services based on NPP showed an increasing trend, which was ￥ 6.938 × 108 in 2000, ￥ 8.052 × 108 in 2010 and ￥ 10.306 × 108 in 2020 respectively. The ecosystem contributed the most to the ecological service value in 2000 was farmland, but in 2010 and 2020, it was the forest ecosystem. The ecological service value of grassland and wetland was relatively small, while the ratio of the wetland ecological service value displayed a decreasing trend. In the future, it is necessary to establish a strict pretrial system for land use, so as to effectively protect the natural and semi-natural ecosystems and fulfill the growing ecological demands of residents.
