Value and Measures of Integrating Local Red Culture into the Ideological and Political Course of Environmental Disciplines under the OBE Concept

Based on output-oriented education,the OBE(Outcome-Based Education)concept integrates local red culture into the ideological and political course of environmental disciplines,and is an important part of training applied talents of environmental disciplines in the new era.This educational model makes an innovation on the traditional educational and teaching concepts and centers on students.This paper analyzes the value of integrating local red culture into the ideological and political course under the OBE concept,and puts forward an effective implementation path.

The Readability of Online Patient Education Materials from Major Anesthesiology Associations and the American Society of Anesthesiologists

Background: As much as 80% of US adults search online for health related information. The value of the information is limited by the patients’ ability to comprehend it. Despite the recommendation by the American Medical Association (AMA) to provide all patient education materials (PEMs) at a 6th grade reading level, many online sources do not conform. This study aims to evaluate the readability of PEMs from major online sources for anesthesiology. Methods: We determined the readability of PEMs from five major anesthesiology organizations and twelve brochures from the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) using ten validated readability scales. PEMs from the various anesthesiology websites were compiled into a single word document for analysis. The twelve patient education brochures from the ASA were downloaded and analyzed separately. We then grouped the twelve documents into one sample and compared it to the other anesthesiology association websites. Results: All of the PEMs provided by the ASA were determined to be higher than a 6th grade reading level with nine being at a 12th grade reading level or above. The PEMs of the five major anesthesiology association websites were beyond the 6th grade reading level with four out of five at greater than the 12th grade reading level. Conclusion: The results showed that the readability of PEMs provided by five major anesthesiology associations and the ASA was beyond the 6th grade. Therefore, the PEMs with improved readability in anesthesiology are needed.

Biopharmaceutical discipline is an interdisciplinary subject with strong comprehensiveness and wide coverage. Under the background of credit system,it is an important task for application-oriented undergraduate colleges and universities to optimize the cultivation program for innovative and entrepreneurial bio-pharmaceutical professionals. According to the characteristics of biopharmaceutical discipline,Binzhou University biopharmaceutical teaching and research office,based on the social demand for biopharmaceutical discipline talents,defined the principle of optimizing the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial biopharmaceutical discipline talents,and constructed the cultivation program of innovative and entrepreneurial biopharmaceutical discipline talents under the credit system. The development of this cultivation program is expected to build a new mode for cultivating high-level biopharmaceutical professionals with strong innovative spirit and entrepreneurial potential.

Advances in Educational Data Mining Models and the Application of Its Algorithms

In order to find an effective way to improve the quality of school management,finding valuable information from students' original data and providing feedback for student management are necessary. Firstly,some new and successful educational data mining models were analyzed and compared. These models have better performance than traditional models( such as Knowledge Tracing Model) in efficiency,comprehensiveness,ease of use,stability and so on. Then,the neural network algorithm was conducted to explore the feasibility of the application of educational data mining in student management,and the results show that it has enough predictive accuracy and reliability to be put into practice. In the end,the possibility and prospect of the application of educational data mining in teaching management system for university students was assessed.

Preconditioning crush increases the survival rate of motor neurons after spinal root avulsion

In a previous study, heat shock protein 27 was persistently upregulated in ventral motor neurons following nerve root avulsion or crush. Here, we examined whether the upregulation of heat shock protein 27 would increase the survival rate of motor neurons. Rats were divided into two groups： an avulsion-only group （avtflsion of the L4 lumbar nerve root only） and a crush-avulsion group （the L4 lumbar nerve root was crushed 1 week prior to the avulsion）. Immunofluores- cent staining revealed that the survival rate of motor neurons was significantly greater in the crush-avulsion group than in the avulsion-only group, and this difference remained for at least 5 weeks after avulsion. The higher neuronal survival rate may be explained by the upregulation of heat shock protein 27 expression in motor neurons in the crush-avulsion group. Further- more, preconditioning crush greatly attenuated the expression of nitric oxide synthase in the motor neurons. Our findings indicate that the neuroprotective action of preconditioning crush is mediated through the upregulation of heat shock protein 27 expression and the attenuation of neuronal nitric oxide synthase upregulation following avulsion.

Correlation Between Playing an Instrument and Grades in Middle and High School Students in the U.S.

The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a correlation between grades and playing an instrument.Furthermore,it will be determined if the number of hours one spends practicing their instrument and how long one has played their instrument affects one’s grade in a class.The data for this study were obtained through a Google Form and were targeted towards middle and high school students in the United States.Results of this study concluded that there is a correlation between playing an instrument and one’s grades in certain subjects.It was also determined that the amount of time spent practicing or how long one has played an instrument also had an impact on one’s grades in certain subjects.
