This comprehensive review examines radiation-induced effects on solder alloys and solder joints in terms of microstructure and mechanical properties. In this paper, we evaluate the existing literature, including experimental studies and fundamental theory, to provide a comprehensive overview of the behavior of solder materials under radiation. A review of the literature highlights key mechanisms that contribute to radiation-induced changes in the microstructure, such as the formation of intermetallic compounds, grain growth,micro-voids and micro-cracks. Radiation is explored as a factor influencing solder alloy hardness, strength, fatigue and ductility. Moreover, the review addresses the challenges and limitations inherent in studying the effects of radiation on solder materials and offers recommendations for future research. It is crucial to understand radiation-induced effects on solder performance to design robust and radiationresistant electronic systems. A review of radiation effects on solder materials and their applications in electronics serves as a valuable resource for researchers, engineers, and practitioners in that field.展开更多

In this paper, we address the vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential field. The effects of controllable vibration on the spontaneous potential field were studied under real field geologic conditions. Experimental data confirmed that the vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential field do exist under field conditions. Monitoring records over a long time interval showed that there exist three information zones in the vibration-induced effects on the spontaneous potential field. These are the signal-varying zone, the extremestable zone, and the relaxation-recovery zone. Combined with different well-site data, it was concluded that the time-varying features of the anomalies in the information zones was closely related to the properties of the subsurface liquid (oil and water).展开更多

The results show that yield strength increases with decreasing thickness from 800 to 50 μm, but work hardening exponent and total elongation decrease, and a modified model was proposed to describe the relation between yield strength and thickness; yield strength decreases as the grain size increases, but work hardening exponent shows an increasing trend, total elongation increases to a peak and then decreases. Fracture morphology of tensile specimens was observed by SEM, which indicates that all tensile specimens are ductile fracture. The dimple intensity increases as the specimen thickness increases but reduces with the specimen grain size increasing.展开更多

The results show that with the increase of welding speed(from 55 to 65 cm/min), the porosity increases dramatically(from 0.1% to 3.9%) and large pores(341.1 μm) appear. The pore size distributions are mainly concentrated at 87.8 and 20.6 μm in the joints produced from weld speeds of 65 and 55 cm/min, respectively. The dissolution and transformation of the β′′ phase in the base metal(BM) result in a significant softening of both the fusion zone and heat-affected zone, and the latter was more serious. The effects of welding speed on the average tensile strength of the full penetration welded joints are minor, which was about 155 MPa(67.4% that of the BM).展开更多

A thin homogeneous elastic interphase with different shear and bulk moduli, located between the reinforced particle and the host matrix, was introduced to model the interfacial bonding state. The effects of such an interphase on the coherent plane waves were studied numerically. Numerical simulations were carried out for SiC-Al composites with four typical cases of interphase. It was found that the property of interphase has significant influences on the effective propagation constants of coherent waves and the dynamic effective elastic moduli of the composites. The influences on the coherent longitudinal wave and the coherent shear waves were different and dependent upon the frequency range. Moreover, several imperfect interface models, i.e., the spring model, mass model, and spring-mass model, were studied numerically and compared with the interphase model, It was found that the spring model is a more suitable model than the mass model for the light and weak interphase whereas the mass model is a more suitable model than the spring model for the heavy and strong interphase.展开更多

The average modulus of elasticity of SCS is 170.295 0±2.485 0 GPa, showing no size effects, but the bending strength ranges from 3.24 GPa to 10.15 GPa, displaying strong size effects, and the average hardness is 9.496 7±1.753 3 GPa,in which no obvious size effects are observed.
文摘The enhancement effects of Y ( Ⅲ) ions on the fluorescence of Ce ( Ⅲ) in Ce ( Ⅲ)-Y ( Ⅲ)-PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate ) or Ce ( Ⅲ)-Y ( Ⅲ)-PVC (polyvinyl chloride ) complex systems were observed. The influence of Y ( Ⅲ) ions on the emission spectra of PMMA ligands in PMMA-Y ( Ⅲ) and the fluorescent enhance- ment of Y( Ⅲ) on Ce( Ⅲ) emission in PMMA-Ce-Y by Y( Ⅲ) ion were studied. It was also of interest to note that when Y ( Ⅲ) ions were added into PMMA and into bpy(bipyridine ) , respectively , the emission spectrum of PMMA ligands was split into fine structure bands by Y ( Ⅲ) , and the fluorescence intensities of bpy ligands in bpy-Y ( Ⅲ) complexes were considerably increased.

文摘Nowadays atmospheric pressure plasma jets (APPJs) are being widely applied to many fields and have received growing interests from cold plasma community. A helium APPJ with co-axial double ring electrode configuration is driven by an AC high voltage power with an adjustable frequency of 1-60 kHz. Experiments are conducted for acquiring the electrical and optical properties of APPJ, including the discharge mode, current peak's phase and APPJ's length, etc. Moreover, the actions of Penning effect on APPJ are discussed by adding impurity nitrogen into highly pure helium. The results may contribute to further research and aPPlications of APPJs.

文摘The influences of interphase on dynamic effective properties of composites reinforced by randomly dispersed spherical particles were studied. Moreover, several imperfect interface models, i.e., the spring model, mass model, and spring-mass model, were studied numerically and compared with the interphase model, It was found that the spring model is a more suitable model than the mass model for the light and weak interphase whereas the mass model is a more suitable model than the spring model for the heavy and strong interphase.

文摘Isolated pillars in underground mines are subjected to uniaxial stress, and the load bearing cross-section of pillars is commonly rectangularly shaped. In addition, the uniaxial compression test(UCT)is widely used for determining the basic mechanical properties of rocks and revealing the mechanism of isolated pillar disasters under unidimensional stress. The shape effects of rock mechanical properties under uniaxial compression are mainly quantitatively reflected in the specific shape ratios of rocks. Therefore,it is necessary to study the detailed shape ratio effects on the mechanical properties of rectangular prism rock specimens and isolated pillars under uniaxial compressive stress. In this study, granite, marble and sandstone rectangular prism specimens with various height to width ratios(r)and width to thickness ratios(u)were prepared and tested. The study results show that r and u have a great influence on the bearing ability of rocks, and thin or high rocks have lower uniaxial compressive strength.Reducing the level of r can enhance the u effect on the strength of rocks, and increasing the level of u can enhance the r effect on the strength of rocks. The lateral strain on the thickness side of the rock specimen is larger than that on the width side, which implies that crack growth occurs easily on the thickness side.Considering r and u,a novel strength prediction model of isolated pillars was proposed based on the testing results, and the prediction model was used for the safety assessment of 179 isolated pillars in the Xianglu Mountain Tungsten Mine.

文摘The deep-ultra deep carbonate reservoir in China, commonly subjected to modification of multi-stage diagenesis, has extremely high heterogeneity.Conventional rock physics analysis cannot accurately identify the elastic responses of reservoir. Here, the rock physics properties of the dolomite from the 4th Member of the Sinian Dengying Formation are experimentally measured, and the change law of rock physics characteristics is investigated within the framework of the diagenetic processes by the analysis of the elastic and petrologic characteristics, pore structure, and sedimentary environments. The results show that the differentiated diagenesis results in different pore structure characteristics and microtexture characteristics of the rock. The microbial dolomite of the algal mound-grain beach facies is subjected to the contemporaneous microbial dolomitization and seepage-reflux dolomitization, penecontemporaneous selective dissolution, burial dolomitization, and hydrothermal dolomitization. The resultant crystalline dolomite is found with one main type of the dolomite crystal contact boundaries, and the dissolution pore is extensive development. The siliceous, muddy, and limy dolomite of the interbeach sea environment mainly experiences the weak capillary concentration dolomitization, intensive mechanical compaction-induced densification, and burial dolomitization.Such crystalline dolomite is observed with four types of contact boundaries, namely the dolomite contact, clay contact, quartz contact, and calcite contact boundaries, and porosity mostly attributed to residual primary inter-granular or crystalline pores. The samples with the same crystal boundary condition have consistent correlations between the compressional-and shear-wave velocities, and between the compressional-wave velocity and the velocity ratio.Additionally, the variation of the acoustic velocity with effective pressure and the intensity of pore-scale fluid-related dispersion are controlled by the differentiation of pore structure types of the samples. The varied effects of soft pores like micro-cracks on the compressional-and shearwave velocity causes considerable changes in the relationships between the compressional-and shearwave velocities,compressional-wave velocity and velocity ratio, and porosity and acoustic velocity. This research is an attempt to demonstrate a novel method for investigating the rock physics variation of rock during the geological process, and the obtained findings can provide the rock physics basis for seismic prediction of the characteristics of deep carbonate reservoirs.

文摘Vertical drains are used to accelerate consolidation of clays in ground improvement projects.Smear zones exist around these drains, where permeability is reduced due to soil disturbance caused by the installation process.Hansbo solution is widely used in practice to consider the effects of drain discharge capacity and smear on the consolidation process. In this study,a computationally efficient diameter reduction method(DRM)obtained from the Hansbo solution is proposed to consider the smear effect without the need to model the smear zone physically.Validated by analytical and numerical results,a diameter reduction factor is analytically derived to reduce the diameter of the drain, while achieving similar solutions of pore pressure dissipation profile as the classical full model of the smear zone and drain. With the DRM,the excess pore pressure u obtained from the reduced drain in the original un-disturbed soil zone is accurate enough for practical applications in numerical models.Such performance of DRM is independent of soil material property. Results also show equally accurate performance of DRM under conditions of multi-layered soils and coupled radial-vertical groundwater flow.
文摘Thermal conductivity, water retention curve and swelling behavior of two MX80 bentonite samples were studied in the present work. The difference obtained from these two MX80 bentonite samples was then analyzed in terms of mineralogical effects (effects of the proportion of quartz and montmorillonite). It was concluded that the mineralogical effect was significant on the thermal conductivity and the swelling capacity; on the contrary, it was negligible on the water retention property.
