The content of this book is based on Woolf’s two speeches at Cambridge, with the theme of “Women and fiction.” Through the analysis of the history and current situation of female literary creation, the paper points out that women should have the courage and right to fight for independent economic power and social status. “Oxbridge” is a combined term of Oxford and Cambridge, and Oxbridge pictures dominate the first chapter of A Room of One’s Own, which are the focus of this paper. Through a detailed analysis of the different indoor and outdoor pictures of Oxbridge, including nature, landscape, humanistic architecture and the “pictures” imagined in the narrator’s mind, this paper discusses the existence of Victorian women and Woolf’s feminist thoughts so as to provide possible implications for the social survival of contemporary women. The study is also concerned with Woolf’s Eco-feminism, stream of consciousness and other artistic skills.展开更多

Thus we think that quantum language can be viewed as the la...Recently we proposed the linguistic Copenhagen interpretation (or, quantum language), which has a great power to describe both classical and quantum systems. Thus we think that quantum language can be viewed as the language of science. Therefore, it makes sense to study, from the quantum linguistic point of view, Wittgenstein’s picture theory, since he must have wanted to create a language of science. In this paper, we show that the proposition that Wittgenstein studied in his book “Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus” can be regarded as a binary projective measurement in classical quantum language. And thus, we conclude that Wittgenstein’s language (<em>i.e.</em>, the language that he supposed in his book) is realized by classical quantum language. Hence, now we can fully understand Wittgenstein’s picture theory since the reason his book is incomprehensible is that he did not define his language.展开更多

While pesticides and fertilizers are the primar...Agricultural pollution is a major issue in the United States (U.S.) and the world. Biotic and abiotic farming byproducts adversely affect the ecosystem and human health. While pesticides and fertilizers are the primary sources of agricultural pollution, organic agriculture can help remediate the negative effects on humans and the ecosystem. However, many factors like chemical drift can limit this advantage. This paper presents a feasibility study of a web-based (Geografic Information System) GIS application which can model and predict the areas affected by agricultural chemicals drift. Other applications exist with limited assumptions that make their outcomes far from reality. A root definition and a rich picture are developed as well as a Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis. Because of the huge geographical context, data requirements and analyses requirements are expected to be massive. Nonetheless, despite the expected challenges, the advantages of the proposed application outweigh the risks.展开更多
