We computed the vertical flexure value of the crust for a specific elastic thickness using a given topographic dataset. The gravity disturbance due to the topography was determined after the calculation. A grid of values for the elastic thickness parameter was generated. Then, a moving correlation was performed between the observed gravity data(representing actual surface data) and the calculated data from the forward modeling. The optimum elastic thickness of the particular point corresponded to the highest correlation coefficient. The methodology was tested on synthetic data and showed that the synthetic depth closely matched the original depth, including the elastic thickness value. To validate the results, the described procedure was applied to a real dataset from the Barreirinhas Basin, situated in the northeastern region of Brazil. The results show that the obtained crustal depth is highly correlated with the depth from known models. Additionally, we noted that the elastic thickness behaves as expected, decreasing from the continent towards the ocean. Based on the results, this method has the potential to be employed as a direct estimate of crustal depth and elastic thickness for any region.展开更多

The method utilizes the relationship between rock mass elastic parameters and in-situ stress. The approach offers the advantage of long-term stress measurements with high spatial resolution and frequency, significantly enhancing the ability to measure in-situ stress. The sensing casing, spirally wrapped with fiber optic, is cemented into the formation to establish a formation sensing nerve. Injecting fluid into the casing generates strain disturbance, establishing the relationship between rock mass properties and treatment pressure. Moreover, an optimization algorithm is established to invert the elastic parameters of formation via fiber optic strains. In the first part of this paper series, we established the theoretical basis for the inverse differential strain analysis method for in-situ stress measurement, which was subsequently verified using an analytical model. This paper is the fundamental basis for the inverse differential strain analysis method.展开更多

Based on the results, this method has the potential to be employed as a direct estimate of crustal depth and elastic thickness for any region.

文摘Understanding the hydrate adhesion is important to tackling hydrate accretion in petro-pipelines.Herein,the relationship between the Tetrahydrofuran(THF)hydrate adhesion strength(AS)and surface stiffness on elastic coatings is systemically examined by experimental shear force measurements and theoretical methods. The mechanical factor-elastic modulus of the coatings greatly dictates the hydrate AS,which is explained by the adhesion mechanics theory, beyond the usual factors such as wettability and structural roughness. Moreover, the hydrate AS increases with reducing the thickness of the elastic coatings, resulted from the decrease of the apparent surface elastic modulus. The effect of critical thickness for the elastic materials with variable elastic modulus on the hydrate AS is also revealed. This study provides deep perspectives on the regulation of the hydrate AS by the elastic modulus of elastic materials, which is of significance to design anti-hydrate surfaces for mitigation of hydrate accretion in petro-pipelines.

文摘A Hamiltonian system is derived for the plane elasticity problem of two-dimensional dodecagonal quasicrystals by introducing the simple state function. By using symplectic elasticity approach, the analytic solutions of the phonon and phason displacements are obtained further for the quasicrystal plates. In addition, the effectiveness of the approach is verified by comparison with the data of the finite integral transformation method.

文摘The main goal of this study is to use higher-order isogeometric analysis(IGA)to study the dynamic response of sandwich shells with an auxetic honeycomb core and two different functionally graded materials(FGM)skin layers(namely honeycomb-FGS shells)subjected to dynamic loading.Touratier's non-polynomial higher-order shear deformation theory(HSDT)is used due to its simplicity and performance. The governing equation is derived from Hamilton's principle. After verifying the present approach, the effect of input parameters on the dynamic response of honeycomb-FGS shells is carried out in detail.

文摘A method for in-situ stress measurement via fiber optics was proposed. This paper is the fundamental basis for the inverse differential strain analysis method.

文摘Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and development.Conducting controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components, diagenesis conditions,or pore fluid. We employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying KC.These artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different directions.Observations revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of kerogen. All elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC variations. In the range of low KC(<10%),the V_(P)/V_(S) ratio demonstrated a linearly negative correlation with KC,and the V_(P)/V_(S) ratio magnitude of less than 1.75may serve as a significant characterization for highly organic-rich(>10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.

文摘The rapid development of the global economy and population growth are accompanied by the production of numerous waste textiles. This leads to a waste of limited resources and serious environmental pollution problems caused by improper disposal. The rational recycling of wasted textiles and their transformation into high-value-added emerging products, such as smart wearable devices,is fascinating. Here,we propose a novel roadmap for turning waste cotton fabrics into three-dimensional elastic fiber-based thermoelectric aerogels by a one-step lyophilization process with decoupled self-powered temperature-compression strain dual-parameter sensing properties. The thermoelectric aerogel exhibits a fast compression response time of 0.2 s,a relatively high Seebeck coefficient of 43μV·K^(-1),and an ultralow thermal conductivity of less than 0.04 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1).The cross-linking of trimethoxy(methyl)silane(MTMS)and cellulose endowed the aerogel with excellent elasticity, allowing it to be used as a compressive strain sensor for guessing games and facial expression recognition. In addition, based on the thermoelectric effect, the aerogel can perform temperature detection and differentiation in self-powered mode with the output thermal voltage as the stimulus signal.Furthermore, the wearable system, prepared by connecting the aerogel-prepared array device with a wireless transmission module, allows for temperature alerts in a mobile phone application without signal interference due to the compressive strains generated during gripping.Hence, our strategy is significant for reducing global environmental pollution and provides a revelatory path for transforming waste textiles into high-value-added smart wearable devices.

文摘To enhance flow stability and reduce hydrodynamic noise caused by fluctuating pressure,a quasiperiodic elastic support skin composed of flexible walls and elastic support elements is proposed for fluid noise reduction. The arrangement of the elastic support element is determined by the equivalent periodic distance and quasi-periodic coefficient. In this paper,a dynamic model of skin in a fluid environment is established. The influence of equivalent periodic distance and quasi-periodic coefficient on flow stability is investigated. The results suggest that arranging the elastic support elements in accordance with the quasi-periodic law can effectively enhance flow stability.Meanwhile, the hydrodynamic noise calculation results demonstrate that the skin exhibits excellent noise reduction performance, with reductions of 10 dB in the streamwise direction,11 dB in the spanwise direction, and 10 dB in the normal direction. The results also demonstrate that the stability analysis method can serve as a diagnostic tool for flow fields and guide the design of noise reduction structures.

文摘Incident particles in the Klein tunnel phenomenon in quantum mechanics can pass a very high potential barrier.Introducing the concept of tunneling into the analysis of phononic crystals can broaden the application prospects. In this study, the structure of the unit cell is designed, and the low frequency(<1 k Hz)valley locked waveguide is realized through the creation of a phononic crystal plate with a topological phase transition interface. The defect immunity of the topological waveguide is verified, that is,the wave can propagate along the original path in the cases of impurities and disorder. Then, the tunneling phenomenon is introduced into the topological valley-locked waveguide to analyze the wave propagation, and its potential applications(such as signal separators and logic gates)are further explored by designing phononic crystal plates. This research has broad application prospects in information processing and vibration control, and potential applications in other directions are also worth exploring.

文摘For media with inclusions(e.g.,precipitates,voids,reinforcements,and others),the difference in lattice parameter and the elastic modulus between the matrix and inclusions cause stress concentration at the interfaces. These stress fields depend on the inclusions’size, shape, and distribution and will respond instantly to the evolving microstructure. This study develops a phase-field model concerningmodulus heterogeneity. The effect of modulus heterogeneity on the growth process and equilibrium state of theαplate in Ti-6Al-4V during precipitation is evaluated.Theαprecipitate exhibits strong anisotropy in shape upon cooling due to the interplay of the elastic strain and interfacial energy. The calculated orientation of the habit plane using the homogeneous modulus ofαphase shows the smallest deviation fromthat of the habit plane observed in the experiment, compared to the case where the homogeneous modulus ofβphase is adopted. In addition, the equilibrium volume ofαphase within the systemusing homogeneousβmodulus exhibits the largest dependency on the applied stresses. The stress fields across theα/βinterface are further calculated under the assumption of modulus heterogeneity and compared to those using homogeneous modulus of eitherαorβphase. This study provides an essential theoretical basis for developing mechanics models concerning systems with heterogeneous structures.
