The donor binding energies are numerically calculated for with and without the electric and magnetic fields in order to show their influence on the binding energies. Moreover, how the donor binding energies change for the constant potential parameters(De, re, and a) as well as with the different values of the electric and magnetic field strengths is determined. It is found that the donor binding energy is highly dependent on the external electric and magnetic fields as well as parameters of the Morse potential.展开更多

An analytical formula for calculating the photodetachment cross section of this system is put forward. It is found that the photodetachment cross section of this system is nearly unaffected for the weak oscillating electric field strength, but oscillates complicatedly when the oscillating electric field strength turns strong. It is shown that the photon is neither a point particle nor an infinite wave but behaves rather like a local “wave-corpuscle” extended over a wavelength, occupying a minimum quantization volume and guided by a non-local vector potential real wave function. The quantized vector potential oscillates over a wavelength with circular left or right polarization giving birth to orthogonal magnetic and electric fields whose amplitudes are proportional to the square of the frequency. The energy and momentum are carried by the local wave-corpuscle guided by the non-local vector potential wave function suitably normalized.展开更多

The full potentiallinearized augumented plane wave plus local orbitals (APW-LO) method and the supercell method are used in the calculation for the KNN crystal with and without the La doping. The results show that the piezoelectricity originates from the strong hybridization between the Nb atom and the O atom, and the substitution of the K or Na atom by the La impurity atom introduces the anisotropic relaxation and enhances the piezoelectricity at first and then restrains the hybridization of the Nb-O atoms when the La doping content further increases.展开更多

The system provides a rare example that the formulas for the cross sections can be explicitly derived by both the quantum approach and closed-orbit theory. The quantum results are compared with those of the closed-orbit theory. The correct phase values in the closed-orbit theory are essential and necessary to produce accurate cross sections. Our quantum results remove some previous ambiguities in assigning the phase values in the closed-orbit theory (G. C. Yang and M. L. Du 2007 Phys. Rev. A 75 029904E).展开更多

The electric field within the air gap is weak(<3?×?106 V m-1), which inhibits the rapid development of electron avalanches and the formation of filament discharge. The experimental result shows that a 3.0 mm width diffuse DBD is generated in air. Moreover, based on the study of the helical-helical electrode with a floating-voltage electrode, a threedimensional electrode structure is presented, and a three-dimensional diffuse discharge is generated in air by adopting this electrode structure. The plasma studied is stable and demonstrates good diffusion characteristics, and therefore has potential applications in the field of exhaust gas treatment and air purification.展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of action potential-simulated weak electric fields on myelination in the central nervous system. DESIGN AND SETTING: This single-sample observation study was performed at the 324 Hospital of Chinese PLA. MATERIALS: Two 5 μm carbon fibers were provided by the Institute of Neuroscience, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. One Sprague Dawley rat, aged 1 day, was used. METHODS: Cerebral cortex was harvested from the rat to prepare a suspension [(1 2)× 10^5/mL] containing neurons and glial cells. To simulate the axon, carbon fibers were placed at the bottom of the neuron-glial cell coculture dish, and were electrified with a single phase square wave current, 1×10^-2, 1×10^-3, 1×10^-4, and 1×10^-5 seconds, 1 Hz, 40 mV, and 10 μA, 30 minutes each, once a day for 10 consecutive days to simulate weak negative electric fields during action potential conduction. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Glial cell growth and wrapping of carbon fibers were observed by phase contrast microscopy and immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: On culture day 7, cell groups were found to adhere to negative carbon fibers in the 1 × 10^-3 seconds square wave group. Cell membrane-like substances grew out of cell groups, wrapped the carbon fibers, and stretched to the ends of carbon fibers. Only some small and round cells close to negative carbon fibers were found on culture day 12. In the 1 × 10^-4 and 1 × 10^-3 seconds square wave groups, the negative carbon fibers were wrapped by oligodendrocytes or their progenitor cells. CONCLUSION: The local negative electric field which is generated by action potentials at 1×(10^-4-10^-3) seconds, 40 mV can directly initiate and participate in myelination in the central nervous system.展开更多

The potential profile is derived analytically by using a plasma-sheath equation, where negative ions produced on the plasma grid (PG) surface are considered in addition to positive ions and electrons. The potential profile depends on the amount and the temperature of the surface produced negative ions and the profile of the magnetic field. The negative potential peak is formed in the sheath region near the PG surface for the case of strong surface production of negative ions or low temperature negative ions. As the increase rate of the magnetic field near the wall becomes large, the negative potential peak becomes small.展开更多

文摘To better understand divertor detachment and asymmetry in the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak(EAST),drift modeling via the comprehensive edge plasma code SOLPS-ITER of neon impurity seeded plasmas in favorable/unfavorable toroidal magnetic field(BT)has been performed.Firstly, electrostatic potential/field(f/E)distribution has been analyzed,to make sure that f and E are correctly described and to better understand drift-driven processes. After that, drift effects on divertor detachment and asymmetry have been focused on.In accordance with the corresponding experimental observations, simulation results demonstrate that in favorable BTthe onset of detachment is highly asymmetric between the inner and outer divertors;and reversing BT can significantly decrease the magnitude of in-out asymmetry in the onset of detachment, physics reasons for which have been explored. It is found that, apart from the well-known E×B drift particle flow from one divertor to the other through the private flux region,scrape-off layer(SOL)heat flow, which is much more asymmetrically distributed between the high field side and low field side for favorable BTthan that for unfavorable B_T,is also a critical parameter affecting divertor detachment and asymmetry.During detachment, upstream pressure(P_u)reduction occurs and tends to be more dramatical in the colder side than that in the hotter side. The convective SOL heat flow, emerging due to in-out asymmetry in P_u reduction,is found to be critical for understanding divertor detachment and asymmetry observed in EAST.To better understand the calculated drastic power radiation in the core and upstream SOL,drift effects on divertor leakage/retention of neon in EAST with both BTdirections have been addressed for the first time,by analyzing profile of poloidal neon velocity and that of neon ionization source from atoms. This work can be a reference for future numeric simulations performed more closely related to experimental regimes.
文摘A photon structure is advanced based on the experimental evidence and the vector potential quantization at a single photon level. The energy and momentum are carried by the local wave-corpuscle guided by the non-local vector potential wave function suitably normalized.

文摘The La-dopping effect on the piezoelectricity in the K0.5Na0.5NbO3 (KNN) crystal with a tetragonal phase is investigated for the first time using the first-principle calculation based on density functional theory. The full potentiallinearized augumented plane wave plus local orbitals (APW-LO) method and the supercell method are used in the calculation for the KNN crystal with and without the La doping. The results show that the piezoelectricity originates from the strong hybridization between the Nb atom and the O atom, and the substitution of the K or Na atom by the La impurity atom introduces the anisotropic relaxation and enhances the piezoelectricity at first and then restrains the hybridization of the Nb-O atoms when the La doping content further increases.

文摘We calculate the photodetachment cross sections of H- in a gradient electric field based on traditional quantum approach. Rev. A 75 029904E).

文摘In order to achieve atmospheric pressure diffuse dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) in air, a helical-helical electrode structure with a floating-voltage electrode is proposed in this paper. Results from an electric field distribution simulation indicate that strong electric fields are formed where the helical-contact electrodes’ insulating layers are in contact with each other, as well as near the floating-voltage electrode, which contributes to the production of a large number of seed electrons. The plasma studied is stable and demonstrates good diffusion characteristics, and therefore has potential applications in the field of exhaust gas treatment and air purification.

文摘BACKGROUND: Myelination is a process whereby glial cells identify, adhere, wrap and enclose axons to form a spiral myelin sheath. CONCLUSION: The local negative electric field which is generated by action potentials at 1×(10^-4-10^-3) seconds, 40 mV can directly initiate and participate in myelination in the central nervous system.

文摘This paper presents a compact two-dimensional analytical device model of surface potential,in addition to electric field of triple-material double-gate(TMDG)tunnel FET.The TMDG TFET device model is developed using a parabolic approximation method in the channel depletion space and a boundary state of affairs across the drain and source. The TMDG TFET device is used to analyze the electrical performance of the TMDG structure in terms of changes in potential voltage, lateral and vertical electric field.Because the TMDG TFET has a simple compact structure, the surface potential is computationally efficient and, therefore, may be utilized to analyze and characterize the gate-controlled devices.Furthermore, using Kane's model, the current across the drain can be modeled. The graph results achieved from this device model are close to the data collected from the technology computer aided design(TCAD)simulation.
文摘Electric potential near a wall for plasma with the surface produced negative ions with magnetic field increasing toward a wall is investigated analytically. As the increase rate of the magnetic field near the wall becomes large, the negative potential peak becomes small.

文摘In this paper,we investigate the photoionization microscopy of the Rydberg hydrogen atom in a gradient electric field for the first time. The observed oscillatory patterns in the photoionization microscopy are explained within the framework of the semiclassical theory, which can be considered as a manifestation of interference between various electron trajectories arriving at a given point on the detector plane. In contrast with the photoionization microscopy in the uniform electric field, the trajectories of the ionized electron in the gradient electric field will become chaotic. An infinite set of different electron trajectories can arrive at a given point on the detector plane, which makes the interference pattern of the electron probability density distribution extremely complicated. Our calculation results suggest that the oscillatory pattern in the electron probability density distribution depends sensitively on the electric field gradient, the scaled energy and the position of the detector plane.Through our research,we predict that the interference pattern in the electron probability density distribution can be observed in an actual photoionization microscopy experiment once the external electric field strength and the position of the electron detector plane are reasonable. This study provides some references for the future experimental research on the photoionization microscopy of the Rydberg atom in the non-uniform external fields.

文摘The molecular dynamics simulations are performed to show that in aque- ous environments, a short single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) guided by a long SWCNT, either inside or outside the longer tube, is capable of moving along the nanotube axis unidirectionally in an electric field perpendicular to the carbon nanotube (CNT) axis with the linear gradient. The design suggests a new way of molecule transportation or mass delivery. To reveal the mechanism behind this phenomenon, the free energy profiles of the system are calculated by the method of the potential of mean force (PMF).
