To reduce the carbon footprint in the transportation sector and improve overall vehicle efficiency,a large number of electric vehicles are being manufactured.This is due to the fact that environmental concerns and the...To reduce the carbon footprint in the transportation sector and improve overall vehicle efficiency,a large number of electric vehicles are being manufactured.This is due to the fact that environmental concerns and the depletion of fossil fuels have become significant global problems.Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have been distinguished themselves from alternative energy storage technologies for electric vehicles(EVs) due to superior qualities like high energy and power density,extended cycle life,and low maintenance cost to a competitive price.However,there are still certain challenges to be solved,like EV fast charging,longer lifetime,and reduced weight.For fast charging,the multi-stage constant current(MSCC) charging technique is an emerging solution to improve charging efficiency,reduce temperature rise during charging,increase charging/discharging capacities,shorten charging time,and extend the cycle life.However,there are large variations in the implementation of the number of stages,stage transition criterion,and C-rate selection for each stage.This paper provides a review of these problems by compiling information from the literature.An overview of the impact of different design parameters(number of stages,stage transition,and C-rate) that the MSCC charging techniques have had on the LIB performance and cycle life is described in detail and analyzed.The impact of design parameters on lifetime,charging efficiency,charging and discharging capacity,charging speed,and rising temperature during charging is presented,and this review provides guidelines for designing advanced fast charging strategies and determining future research gaps.展开更多
The rapid development of electric vehicles(EVs)has benefited from the fact that more and more countries or regions have begun to attach importance to clean energy and environmental protection.This paper focuses on the...The rapid development of electric vehicles(EVs)has benefited from the fact that more and more countries or regions have begun to attach importance to clean energy and environmental protection.This paper focuses on the optimization of EV charging,which cannot be ignored in the rapid development of EVs.The increase in the penetration of EVs will generate new electrical loads during the charging process,which will bring new challenges to local power systems.Moreover,the uncoordinated charging of EVs may increase the peak-to-valley difference in the load,aggravate harmonic distortions,and affect auxiliary services.To stabilize the operations of power grids,many studies have been carried out to optimize EV charging.This paper reviews these studies from two aspects:EV charging forecasting and coordinated EV charging strategies.Comparative analyses are carried out to identify the advantages and disadvantages of different methods or models.At the end of this paper,recommendations are given to address the challenges of EV charging and associated charging strategies.展开更多

During battery’s working, the voltage, capacity, temperature and internal resistance were recorded, corresponding curves were depicted. Variations of the aforementioned four parameters are differently obvious. Ending criteria of charge and discharge of Ni/MH batteries are discussed on the basis of the curves. Voltage, capacity and temperature of a battery can be used as ending criteria during charge. When discharge takes place, voltage, capacity and internal resistance can be chosen as ending criteria. As a whole, capacity is more suitable for being used as ending criteria of charge and discharge than the other three parameters. At last, the capacity of a battery is recommended to be ending criteria of charge and discharge. The conclusions will provide references to different capacity Ni/MH batteries for electric vehicles.展开更多
