Exact expressions of the magnetic field distribution in a two-dimensional object space were derived by analytically solving the forward problem for a particular two-component pow. The physical mechanisms within the sensor and the detectability limits of the EMT technique were quantitatively analyzed. Direct mathematical expressions for the field sensitivity and the sensitivity maps were established. To a certain extent, mathematical and theoretical bares are given for quantitative design of the sensor, detectability analysis of the EMT technique and image reconstruction of two-component processes based on the linear back-projection algorithm.展开更多

By using electrode arrays to scan flowing fluids, electromagnetic tomography can identify the flow patterns of mixed fluid from the different electrical properties of gas and water. The responses for different gas-water interface locations were calculated and then physical measurements were undertaken. We compared the results of the numerical simulation with the experimental data, and found that the response characteristics were consistent in the circumstances of uniform physical fields and stratified flows. By analyzing the signal characteristics, it is found that, with the change of the interface location, the response curves showed "steps" whose position and width were decided by the location of fluid interface. The measurement accuracy of this method depended on the vertical distance between adjacent electrodes. The results showed that computer simulation can simulate the measurement of the electromagnetic tomography accurately, so the physical experiment can be replaced.展开更多

Due to the great differences in conductivity and permittivity between oil and water in the well, Electromagnetic Tomography Well Logging (ETWL), a new flow imaging measurement system, is proposed to describe the distribution and movement of oil/water two-phase flow in the well by scanning the detected region and applying a suitable data processing algorithm. The results of the numerical simulation and physical modeling show that the system could provide a clear image of the flow profile.展开更多

This psychometric tool is useful in the assessment of cognitive control of stress, correlated with the function of dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. It has been validated for its use in the assessment of Portuguese people in situations of stress related to unemployment and economic insufficiency. Also, within the context of the cognitive control of stress, it is highlighted the usefulness of low resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (LORETA).展开更多

Therefore the absorption coefficient obtained by a common used image reconstruction method is only a relative value. The consistency of tomograms in linked profiles inevitably is affected seriously. An improved equation involving the effect of induced wave field and an alternative tracing method to calculate the in situ radiation constant is proposed in the present paper. Based on the results from a series of parameter calibration performed in water and the experiments with rock samples, the standard meter readings of borehole electromagnetic systems, types EW—1 and JWQ—3, are accurately defined here. Additionally, frequency reduction and boundary smoothing of linked profiles are discussed. In research on groundwater prospecting in Tanggongta, Inner Mongolia, we used the above mentioned method and obtained the tomograms of linked profiles with good consistency. The absorption coefficient in the tomogram are not only reasonable and reliable, but also coincided with the result from rock parameter measurement. The depth, extension direction and water bearing structure of two aquifers were well detected. This result correctly guides hydrologic drilling there.展开更多

The validation of the model is proved using the result from the solution of Laplace equation. Suggestions on to electrode optimization and explanation to the ill-condition property of the sensitivity matrix are provided based on the model, which takes electrode distance into account and can be generalized to the sensor with any simple connected region through a conformal transformation. Image reconstruction algorithms based on the model are implemented to show feasibility of the model using experimental data collected from the EIT system developed in Tianjin University. In the simulation with a human chest-like configuration, electrical conductivity distributions are reconstructed using equi-potential back-projection (EBP) and Tikhonov regularization (TR) based on a conformal transformation of the model. The algorithms based on the model are suitable for online image reconstruction and the reconstructed results are good both in size and position.展开更多

We describe the CBS, and the Computerized Ionospheric Tomography(CIT) algorithm program is validated by numerical experiment. Two examples are shown, for daytime and nighttime respectively. The Equatorial Ionization Anomaly(EIA) can be seen, and the northern crest core is located at ~20°N in the reconstruction image at 07:28 UTC on 20 July 2018(daytime).Disturbances are shown in the reconstruction image at 18:40 UTC on 13 July 2018(nighttime). We find that beacon measurements are more consistent with ionosonde measurements than model results, by comparing Nm F2 at three sites at Lanzhou, Chongqing, and Kunming; consistency with ionosonde measurements validates beacon measurements. Finally, we have studied Vertical Total Electron Content(VTEC) variations from ground to ~500 km(the height of CSES-1 orbit) and ratios of VTEC between beacon measurements and CODE(Center for Orbit Determination in Europe) data. VTEC variation from ground to ~500 km has a range of 7.2–16.5 TECU for the daytime case and a range of 1.1–1.7 TECU for the nighttime case. The Beacon/CODE ratio of VTEC varies with latitude and time. The mean Beacon/CODE ratio is 0.69 for the daytime case and 0.26 for the nighttime case. The fact that the nighttime case yields lower ratios indicates the higher altitude of the ionosphere during nighttime when the ionosphere is assumed to be a thin layer.展开更多
