Rational designing of one-dimensional(1D)magnetic alloy to facilitate electromagnetic(EM)wave attenuation capability in low-frequency(2-6 GHz)microwave absorption field is highly desired but remains a significant challenge.In this study,a composite EM wave absorber made of a FeCoNi medium-entropy alloy embedded in a 1D carbon matrix framework is rationally designed through an improved electrospinning method.The 1D-shaped FeCoNi alloy embedded composite demonstrates the high-density and continuous magnetic network using off-axis electronic holography technique,indicating the excellent magnetic loss ability under an external EM field.Then,the in-depth analysis shows that many factors,including 1D anisotropy and intrinsic physical features of the magnetic medium-entropy alloy,primarily contribute to the enhanced EM wave absorption performance.Therefore,the fabricated EM wave absorber shows an increasing effective absorption band of 1.3 GHz in the low-frequency electromagnetic field at an ultrathin thickness of 2 mm.Thus,this study opens up a new method for the design and preparation of high-performance 1D magnetic EM absorbers. 展开更多

A new edge tangential multi-energy soft x-ray(ME-SXR) diagnostic with high temporal(≤ 0.1 ms) and spatial(~1 cm) resolution has been developed for a variety of physics topics studies in the EAST tokamak plasma. The fast edge electron temperature profile(approximately from r a~ 0.6 to the scrape-off layer) is investigated using ME-SXR diagnostic system. The data process was performed by the ideal ‘multi-foil' technique, with no priori assumptions of plasma profiles. Reconstructed ME-SXR emissivity profiles for a variety of EAST experimental scenarios are presented here for the first time. The applications of the ME-SXR for study of the effects of resonant magnetic perturbation on edge localized modes and the first time neon radiating divertor experiment in EAST are also presented in this work. It has been found that neon impurity can suppress the 2/1 tearing mode and trigger a 3/1 MHD mode. 展开更多

Chaotic phenomena in the wake of thermal convection flow fields above a heating flat plate were investigated experimentally. A newly developed electron beam fluorescence technique (EBF) was used to simultaneously measure density fluctuation at 7 points in a cross section above the plate. Correlation dimensions, intermittence coefficients, Fourier spectrum have been obtained for different Grashof numbers. Spatial distribution of correlation dimensions are presented. The experimental result shows that there is a certain relationship between the density fluctuation and the Gr number. And time-spacial characteristic of chaos evolution is also given. 展开更多

Bacillus subtilis was selected as the suitable microorganism,which could produce alkaline phosphatase and constantly hydrolyzed phosphate monoester in the mixture solution of bacteria with substrate,and then the PO4^3-was obtained.Bio-phosphate cement was prepared by alkaline earth element(Ba)ions reacting with PO4^3-in the mixture solution.Structure,size and thermal properties of the bio-phosphate cement were characterized by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and particle size analysis.The average crystallite sizes of chem-BaHPO4 and bio-BaHPO4corresponded to 11.99 and 24.13μm,respectively.Chem-BaHPO4 and bio-BaHPO4 were then adopted to bind loose sand particles.The results indicated that loose sand particles can be well cemented by the bio-BaHPO4powder into a bio-sandstone with a certain mechanical properties,and the average compressive strength of the bio-sandstones can be up to 0.83 MPa when the curing time was 14 d.Along with the method in future studies,there will be multiple new opportunities for engineering applications,for instance,the treatment of sandy soil foundation,remediation of heavy metals in contaminated soil,and so on. 展开更多

The induces defects and especially the EL2 defect in 10 MeV electron irradiated undoped semi-insulating(SI) LEC GaAs samples were investigated by using optical transient current spectroscopy (OTCS)technique.The results indicate that the density of EL2 defect of irradiated GaAs decreases and the density of EL6 defect in-creases at lower fluence levels. At higher fluences, we observe an increase in density of the EL2 level, howev-er,the density of the EL6 is decreased. It is suggested that on lower fluences, 10 MeV electron irradiation causes the dissociation of the EL2 defect, and may be used to decrease the main donor level EL2 in SI-GaAs. 展开更多

However, obtaining quantitative magnetic parameters, such as spin and orbital magnetic moment with element-specificity, goes a long way along with the development and improvement of this technique both in theoretical and experimental aspects. In this review, we will give a detailed description of the quantitative electron magnetic circular dichroism(EMCD) technique to measure magnetic parameters with spin-specificity, element-specificity,site-specificity, and orbital-spin-specificity. The discussion completely contains the procedures from raw experimental data acquisition to final magnetic parameters, together with the related custom code we have developed. 展开更多

The orientation imaging microscopy technique based on electron backscattered diffraction technique (EBSD) was used in this work. (t was found that the addition of 0.005 wt% Mg to the steel could evidently increase the ratio of acicular ferrite crystals appearing at large angles boundaries to each other, which was attributed to the nucleation of the second-phase particles by the Mg treatment. The FBSD techniques provide a power- ful method to characterize and quantify the ferrite grain boundaries misorientation, in order to relate it to toughness. 展开更多

In situ observation of electron backscattering diffraction technique was used to evaluate the orientation relationships between austenite and α′-martensite(α′-M) for high manganese transformation-induced plasticity steel.It was noted that different from the thermal martensite,which well obeyed K-S relationship with austenite,the orientation relationship between deformation-induced α′-M with austenite changed during deformation,namely K-S and N-W relations coexisted.No clear differences existed between α′-M variants with two kinds of relationships in terms of martensitic orientation,shape and the misorientation between α′-M variants.And this phenomenon happened in almost all austenitic grains with different orientations investigated in this study.An atom displacement mechanism through conjugate complex slips of partial dislocations in the distorted fcc lattice was applied in this article to interpret the coexistence of K-S and N-W relationships. 展开更多

The role of the thermal history of the precursor was studied for amorphous and crystalline calcium carbon- ate phases synthesized from calcium nitrate. The X-ray diffraction patterns of these phases are influenced by their annealing temperature of 0, 300, 400, and 500 ℃. However, the effect of the precursor thermal history on the X-ray diffraction pattern of the resulting calcium carbonate phase is negligible. Transmis- sion electron microscopy indicates that materials annealed at 400 ℃ consist of amorphous aggregates, irrespective of the precursor thermal history. The crystallite size of crystalline calcium carbonate is influ- enced by the precursor thermal history, and ranges from 23 to 26 rim. Near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure measurements indicate that the annealing temperature plays an important role in determining the local electronic structure. The role of the thermal history of the precursor is also important for the resultinu electronic structure. 展开更多
