The species has been recorded in only a few mountainous forests in south-central Sichuan and in the extreme northeast of Yunnan Province. We summarized the basic eco-biology information on its habitat, breeding, winter habits and behavior, voice, population status, research and conservation.展开更多

Typically, males vocalize in choruses during one or more periods in a twenty-four-hour cycle, which varies, however, among species. Nevertheless, the causal factors influencing circadian variations of calling patterns in anuran species are not clear. In this study, male chorus vocalizations were monitored in the Emei music frog(Babina daunchina) for 17 consecutive days during the breeding season, while its habitat air temperature and relative humidity in the course of experiments were measured as well. The results revealed that the circadian calling patterns were characterized by two periods of peak vocalization, which were observed from 0500 h to 0700 h and from 1300 h to 2000 h, while the lowest activity period was found from 2100 h to 2200 h. Both calls/h and notes/h were positively correlated with air temperature and negatively with relative humidity. Overall, our data indicate that the Emei music frogs(B. daunchina) could regulate their vocal activities based on the changes of physical micro-environment(e. g., temperature or humidity) to maximize reproductive success.展开更多

It is found that the problems in relation to old and to new buildings are different. Then, authorities that can combat problems of old and new buildings are in general different. After that, in relation to old buildings, architectural design institution and religious unit are considered to be able to deal with the problems resulting from function and utilisation and the Mount Emei Authority to those from organisation and management. In relation to the new, the planning institution is believed to be the most authoritative to tackle surrounding and traditional value problems while the architectural design institution is well placed to resolve aesthetic problems. Finally, both old and new buildings require improved powers, policy, administration and organisation to combat the problems although financial resources are emphasised for the old buildings and improvements in planning and architectural design for the new ones.展开更多

The large-scale Emeishan basalt eruption marked the summit period of mafic magmatic activity between Early and Late Permian. Lots of Au, As, Hg, Sb and other trace elements, in the form of extreme dispersion, found their way into coal seams of the Longtan Formation in the transitional zone between platform facies and slope facies at the margin of the platform around the areas of Xingyi, Anlong, Xingren and Zhenfeng in southwestern Guizhou Province. During the Yanshanian Emei mantle plume activity, large amounts of ore-forming elements such as As, Au, Hg, Sb, etc. were extracted from the Emeishan basalt and coal seams by hydrothermal solutions, followed by their mobilization and transport. When the hydrothermal solutions passed through the coal measures of the Longtan Formation, the element As was enriched locally to form high-As coal.; The intensive Emei plume activity provided the material source of As and dynamic source for the formation of high-As coal in southwestern Guizhou Province.展开更多
