BACKGROUND Breast cancer is among the most common malignancies worldwide.With progress in treatment methods and levels,the overall survival period has been prolonged,and the demand for quality care has increased.AIM T...BACKGROUND Breast cancer is among the most common malignancies worldwide.With progress in treatment methods and levels,the overall survival period has been prolonged,and the demand for quality care has increased.AIM To investigate the effect of individualized and continuous care intervention in patients with breast cancer.METHODS Two hundred patients with breast cancer who received systemic therapy at The First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University(January 2021 to July 2023)were retrospectively selected as research participants.Among them,134 received routine care intervention(routing group)and 66 received personalized and continuous care(intervention group).Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast(FACT-B)scores,including limb shoulder joint activity,complication rate,and care satisfaction,were compared between both groups after care.RESULTS SAS and SDS scores were lower in the intervention group than in the routing group at one and three months after care.The total FACT-B scores and five dimensions in the intervention group were higher than those in the routing group at three months of care.The range of motion of shoulder anteflexion,posterior extension,abduction,internal rotation,and external rotation in the intervention group was higher than that in the routing group one month after care.The incidence of postoperative complications was 18.18%lower in the intervention group than in the routing group(34.33%;P<0.05).Satisfaction with care was 90.91% higher in the intervention group than in the routing group(78.36%;P<0.05).CONCLUSION Personalized and continuous care can alleviate negative emotions in patients with breast cancer,quicken rehabilitation of limb function,decrease the incidence of complications,and improve living quality and care satisfaction.展开更多
BACKGROUND Delirium is a neuropsychiatric syndrome characterized by acute disturbances of consciousness with rapid onset,rapid progression,obvious fluctuations,and preventable,reversible,and other characteristics.Pati...BACKGROUND Delirium is a neuropsychiatric syndrome characterized by acute disturbances of consciousness with rapid onset,rapid progression,obvious fluctuations,and preventable,reversible,and other characteristics.Patients with delirium in the intensive care unit(ICU)are often missed or misdiagnosed and do not receive adequate attention.AIM To analyze the risk factors for delirium in ICU patients and explore the applica-tion of emotional nursing with pain nursing in the management of delirium.METHODS General data of 301 critically ill patients were retrospectively collected,including histories(cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,hypertension,smoking,alcoholism,and diabetes),age,sex,diagnosis,whether surgery was performed,and patient origin(emergency/clinic).Additionally,the duration of sedation,Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale score,combined emotional and pain care,ven-tilator use duration,vasoactive drug use,drainage tube retention,ICU stay du-ration,C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,white blood cell count,body tempe-rature,Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II(APACHE II)score,and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score were recorded within 24 h after ICU admission.Patients were assessed for delirium according to confusion assessment method for the ICU,and univariate and multivariate logistic regre-ssion analyses were performed to identify the risk factors for delirium in the patients.RESULTS Univariate logistic regression analysis was performed on the 24 potential risk factors associated with delirium in ICU patients.The results showed that 16 risk factors were closely related to delirium,including combined emotional and pain care,history of diabetes,and patient origin.Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that no combined emotional and pain care,history of diabetes,emergency source,surgery,long stay in the ICU,smoking history,and high APACHE II score were independent risk factors for de-lirium in ICU patients.CONCLUSION Patients with diabetes and/or smoking history,postoperative patients,patients with a high APACHE II score,and those with emergency ICU admission need emotional and pain care,flexible visiting modes,and early intervention to reduce delirium incidence.展开更多

BACKGROUND With an estimated 121 million abortions following unwanted pregnancies occurring worldwide each year,many countries are now committed to protecting women’s reproductive rights.AIM To analyze the impact of ...BACKGROUND With an estimated 121 million abortions following unwanted pregnancies occurring worldwide each year,many countries are now committed to protecting women’s reproductive rights.AIM To analyze the impact of emotional management and care on anxiety and contraceptive knowledge mastery in painless induced abortion(IA)patients.METHODS This study was retrospective analysis of 84 patients with IA at our hospital.According to different nursing methods,the patients were divided into a control group and an observation group,with 42 cases in each group.Degree of pain,rate of postoperative uterine relaxation,surgical bleeding volume,and postoperative bleeding volume at 1 h between the two groups of patients;nursing satisfaction;and mastery of contraceptive knowledge were analyzed.RESULTS After nursing,Self-Assessment Scale,Depression Self-Assessment Scale,and Hamilton Anxiety Scale scores were 39.18±2.18,30.27±2.64,6.69±2.15,respectively,vs 45.63±2.66,38.61±2.17,13.45±2.12,respectively,with the observation group being lower than the control group(P<0.05).Comparing visual analog scales,the observation group was lower than the control group(4.55±0.22 vs 3.23±0.41;P<0.05).The relaxation rate of the cervix after nursing,surgical bleeding volume,and 1-h postoperative bleeding volumes were 25(59.5),31.72±2.23,and 22.41±1.23,respectively,vs 36(85.7),42.39±3.53,28.51±3.34,respec tively,for the observation group compared to the control group.The observation group had a better nursing situation(P<0.05),and higher nursing satisfaction and contraceptive knowledge mastery scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The application of emotional management in postoperative care of IA has an ideal effect.展开更多
Background:Recognition and treatment of emotional distress,which affects 20 to 40%of outpatients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes,are important because of its association with worse diabetes self-care,poor glycemic cont...Background:Recognition and treatment of emotional distress,which affects 20 to 40%of outpatients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes,are important because of its association with worse diabetes self-care,poor glycemic control,increased rates of mortality and diabetes-related complications,and a rise in healthcare expenditure.However,although the symptoms of emotional distress improve in diabetic patients after psychological and pharmacological interventions,evidence of benefits in glycemic control is still uncertain.Objective:The aim of this study was to assess the metabolic control in diabetic patients with emotional distress attending primary mental care clinics(PMCC)in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.Method:This study was a single group pretest-posttest design conducted on adult diabetic patients with emotional distress attending PMCC.Out of 194 attendees,62 patients who fulfilled the selection criteria were studied.Data were collected from the patients’records using a worksheet designed for the study.Metabolic parameters including BMI,BP,FBS,HbA1c and lipid profile were recorded before and after the management of emotional distress.Socio-demographic characteristics,complications related to diabetes and co-morbidities were also recorded.Paired t-test was used appropriately to compare continuous variables.A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered significant in all statistical analysis.Results:The majority of the patients had type 2 DM(98.2%)and the presence of co-morbidities was high(83.9%).A comparison of the metabolic parameters before and after management of emotional distress,showed a significant reduction in HbA1c(p=0.020)and elevation in HDL(p=0.010).No differences in BMI,BP,FBS,TC,TG or LDL were found.Conclusions:Treating emotional distress in diabetic patients is associated with an improvement in HbA1c and HDL.展开更多

The sixth national census shows that in our country, the population aged 60 and 13.26% of the total population over the total number of 179 million, 65 years and older the proportion of 8.87% of the total population, the absolute number of nearly 120 million. Hundreds of millions of older age groups will produce a growing demand for care services, which is the original old-age service system and the whole economic and social development is a huge pressure. On the other hand, with the economic and social transformation, the traditional model of family pension has been unable to adapt to the profound changes in modem employment, family structure, the concept of retirement, since most parts of China, "old before getting ricE" the situation, how to solve the elderly the pension problem is related to the overall situation of China's economic and social development, related to the overall situation of building a harmonious society in China. BACKGROUND Lung cancer is a clinical disease with multiple malignant tumors.Currently,it is difficult for patients to benefit from routine clinical nursing due to the lack of a pertinent and systematic approach.AIM To...BACKGROUND Lung cancer is a clinical disease with multiple malignant tumors.Currently,it is difficult for patients to benefit from routine clinical nursing due to the lack of a pertinent and systematic approach.AIM To investigate the effect of integrated nursing care on the negative emotions and satisfaction of lung cancer patients.METHODS From January 2018 to December 2019,92 patients with lung cancer were selected and divided into the study group and the control group;there were 46 patients in each group.The control group received routine nursing,and the study group received integrated medical care in addition to the care received by the control group.Negative emotions before and after the intervention,the self-management ability score after the intervention,family care burden after the intervention and nursing satisfaction after the intervention were measured in the two groups.RESULTS After the intervention,the self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the scores for health knowledge,self-concept,self-responsibility and self-care skills in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);the scores for individual burden and responsibility burden in the study group were lower than those before the intervention(P<0.05);and the nursing satisfaction in the study group(93.48%)was higher than that in the control group(78.26%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION An integrated nursing care approach for lung cancer patients can effectively relieve the patient’s negative feelings,improve their self-management ability,help to reduce the burden of family care and improve patient satisfaction with nursing activities.展开更多

This article sheds light on the report...There is a dearth of evidence-based data on how psychological distress and death anxiety symptoms experienced by cancer patients and caregivers are treated in developing regions. This article sheds light on the report of the findings from a 2016 study that revealed a rational-emotive behavioral intervention helped a select group of cancer patients and their family caregivers to manage problematic assumptions, psychological distress, and death anxiety symptoms in Nigeria.Based on my experience as a co-investigator and corresponding author of this previous study, I addressed the challenges of conducting such a study and the implications for future research in this article. This article encourages future researchers to replicate the study and endeavor to overcome the limitations of the previous study. Funders were also encouraged to ensure increased access to funds for conducting similar studies with cancer patients and their family caregivers in developing countries and other parts of the world.展开更多
This article chronicles a failed research project.We designed and carried out a psychological intervention aimed at increasing esogastric and lung cancer patients’emotional competencies after treatments.We present th...This article chronicles a failed research project.We designed and carried out a psychological intervention aimed at increasing esogastric and lung cancer patients’emotional competencies after treatments.We present the final protocol of the study,a randomized controlled trial in a public hospital,and describe the difficulties encountered and our subsequent reflections,to provide researchers and clinicians with advice for the implementation of such interventions.Firstly,the role of psychology,emotions,and emotional competencies,is still underacknowledged in cancer care.Pedagogical efforts must be made to convince both physicians and patients of the importance of those elements.Secondly and consequently,even distressed patients sure to benefit from such an intervention,do not take it up.In particular,male patients often declined the intervention due to gender stereotypes,and as such creativity is needed to present such interventions in a motivating way for patients.Finally,and most importantly,even if there is a good rationale for a psychological intervention and all favorable conditions are present,it is essential to first conduct a feasibility/pilot study.Indeed,even the most thorough preparation is no guarantee of anticipating all issues due to important gaps between theory and practice.展开更多

文摘The new urbanization is an important carrier of ecological civilization construction, and ecological old-age care is the concrete manifestation of the perfect combination of the two, the proper meaning of the new urbanization connotation and an inevitable trend of its development. Based on the analysis of the connotation and relationship between the new urbanization and ecological old-age care, together with the current situation and existing problems of the current nursing institutions and ecological old-age care in Xi'an area, this paper discusses the major issues that should be noticed when constructing the ecological old-age care community in Xi'an and three main construction modes.
文摘Through the analysis of the history and current situation of Russia's old-age care services system, this paper analyzes and studies the old-age care services system in Russia. By means of law and social policy, Russia can promote the active participation of the elderly in politics, economy, culture and other activities to promote the positive image of the elderly. The active aging policy in Russia and the development trend of the old-age care service to promote the social adaptation and re-employment of the elderly are of positive significance to the development of our country's old-age care service.
文摘BACKGROUND Lung cancer is a clinical disease with multiple malignant tumors.Currently,it is difficult for patients to benefit from routine clinical nursing due to the lack of a pertinent and systematic approach.AIM To investigate the effect of integrated nursing care on the negative emotions and satisfaction of lung cancer patients.METHODS From January 2018 to December 2019,92 patients with lung cancer were selected and divided into the study group and the control group;there were 46 patients in each group.The control group received routine nursing,and the study group received integrated medical care in addition to the care received by the control group.Negative emotions before and after the intervention,the self-management ability score after the intervention,family care burden after the intervention and nursing satisfaction after the intervention were measured in the two groups.RESULTS After the intervention,the self-rating anxiety scale and self-rating depression scale scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the scores for health knowledge,self-concept,self-responsibility and self-care skills in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);the scores for individual burden and responsibility burden in the study group were lower than those before the intervention(P<0.05);and the nursing satisfaction in the study group(93.48%)was higher than that in the control group(78.26%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION An integrated nursing care approach for lung cancer patients can effectively relieve the patient’s negative feelings,improve their self-management ability,help to reduce the burden of family care and improve patient satisfaction with nursing activities.
文摘There is a dearth of evidence-based data on how psychological distress and death anxiety symptoms experienced by cancer patients and caregivers are treated in developing regions. This article sheds light on the report of the findings from a 2016 study that revealed a rational-emotive behavioral intervention helped a select group of cancer patients and their family caregivers to manage problematic assumptions, psychological distress, and death anxiety symptoms in Nigeria.Based on my experience as a co-investigator and corresponding author of this previous study, I addressed the challenges of conducting such a study and the implications for future research in this article. This article encourages future researchers to replicate the study and endeavor to overcome the limitations of the previous study. Funders were also encouraged to ensure increased access to funds for conducting similar studies with cancer patients and their family caregivers in developing countries and other parts of the world.
文摘This article chronicles a failed research project.We designed and carried out a psychological intervention aimed at increasing esogastric and lung cancer patients’emotional competencies after treatments.We present the final protocol of the study,a randomized controlled trial in a public hospital,and describe the difficulties encountered and our subsequent reflections,to provide researchers and clinicians with advice for the implementation of such interventions.Firstly,the role of psychology,emotions,and emotional competencies,is still underacknowledged in cancer care.Pedagogical efforts must be made to convince both physicians and patients of the importance of those elements.Secondly and consequently,even distressed patients sure to benefit from such an intervention,do not take it up.In particular,male patients often declined the intervention due to gender stereotypes,and as such creativity is needed to present such interventions in a motivating way for patients.Finally,and most importantly,even if there is a good rationale for a psychological intervention and all favorable conditions are present,it is essential to first conduct a feasibility/pilot study.Indeed,even the most thorough preparation is no guarantee of anticipating all issues due to important gaps between theory and practice.

文摘Rapid population aging is a social reality facing China at present,and the issue of elderly care has become a hot topic of social concern.Legislation to address the issue of elderly care in the context of population aging should follow systematic concepts to achieve“vertical and horizontal integration.”In terms of content,it is necessary to formulate specific legal approaches around“the elderly and children,”with a focus on guaranteeing the livelihood and protection of the rights of the elderly while taking into account childbirth,employment and other issues.the laws should not only safeguard the social participation and labor rights of the elderly,but also effectively respond to the social challenges brought about by the aging of the population.It is also necessary to optimize the family planning policy to ease the burden of child-raising,improve the population structure and promote the long-term balanced development of the population,thus fundamentally solving the problem of population aging.the effort to improve the legal system to deal with the issue of elderly care in the context of population aging will better advance Chinese modernization.
