The metadata methodology may give us certain good ideas. First, the metadata description method of manufacturing information resource, transaction process and message delivery is put forward on the basis of operation analysis of manufacturing-oriented EAI, and then the tree-structured XML schema of corresponding object is built and a framework of metadata application in the discrete Manufacturing-Oriented EAI is established. During the integration, the focus area ha...Heterogeneity is inevitable in enterprises due to their various input requirements. The usage of proprietary integration products results in the increased cost of enterprises. During the integration, the focus area has been found to often address only the functional requirements, while the non-functional requirements are side-stepped during the initial stages of a project. Moreover, the use of proprietary integration products and non-standards-based integration platform has given rise to an inflexible integration infrastructure resulting in adaptability concerns. Web services-based integration, based on open standards, is deemed to be the only feasible solution in such cases. This paper explains the performance analysis of enterprise integration in heterogeneous environments for the distributed and the transactional applications. The analysis presented in this paper is seen as a step towards making intelligent decisions well in advance when choosing the integration mechanism/products to address the functional as well as the non-functional requirements considering the future integration needs.展开更多
This paper proposes a practical and framework-based approach to design an architecture transformation strategy and roadmap aiming to transform or modernize critical legacy enterprise systems.The approach is business v...This paper proposes a practical and framework-based approach to design an architecture transformation strategy and roadmap aiming to transform or modernize critical legacy enterprise systems.The approach is business value driven with IT supportability in terms of lower application operational and support costs,higher business value and shorter time to market of application delivery.The approach introduces a robust enterprise application architecture assessment framework with an emphasis on technical(internal)and strategic(external)perspectives to guide the application assessment and also a finance selfsupport transformation strategy to aid its transformation roadmap design.The approach was applied in multiple large enterprises successfully and received endorsements and positive feedback from the sponsors.The paper also presents a case study detailing the successful application of the approach to modernize an enterprise logistics transportation management system.展开更多

This paper presents a methodology for web services adoption based on technology adoption theory and business process analyses. The methodology suggests that strategies, business areas, and functions within an organization should be considered based on the existing organizational information technology status during the process of adopting web services to support the business needs and requirements.展开更多
