Urban Green Spaces and an Integrative Approach to Sustainable Environment

This paper explains the benefits and challenges of urban green spaces based on the critical discussion of study results from different studies in different cities. The important roles played by green spaces are social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of sustainable development. Urban green spaces can be a comprehensive tool for long term protection of environmental sustainability through improving the quality of life and air quality, increasing property value due to their amenity and aesthetic characteristics, and reducing the energy costs of cooling buildings. Urban green spaces also can provide ecosystem services in which the recreation and relaxation facilities are especially available to urban dwellers and tourists too. To confirm the multiple roles played by green spaces, certain level of qualitative improvements and distribution of green spaces within the urban area should be considered and incorporated effectively into the environmental sustainability agenda. To do this, an integrated approach regarding the planning, monitoring, designing and maintaining of urban green spaces is required for improving the environmental sustainability in cities in different countries.

Wind and Snow Impacts on Urban Space Planning:A Multiphase Numerical Simulation

The wind and snow environment outside the planned space plays a key role in the comfort and safety of the human habitat in severe cold regions. Traditional studies of the external environment of human settlements, however, frequently overlook the combined impacts of wind and snow environments. Furthermore, in urban meteorological studies, it is impossible to accurately assess the wind and snow environment in specific areas or locations. In this study, a refined Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) multiphase flow numerical method was used to simulate a planning space's wind and snow environment. The study classified the Snowstorm Weather Grade(SWG) by incorporating the Snowstorm Weather Index(SWI) to generate calculation results of the wind environment and snow environment. In particular, 150 measurement points in the planning space were chosen for analysis and evaluation of their wind and snow environments. The results demonstrated that the SWI index can effectively correlate to the wind and snow environment calculation results. In addition, the graph of SWI showed that 55% of the measurement points had a moderate wind and snow grade SWI, which exceeds the average grade for the entire region. The practical application shows that the wind and snow environment assessment indexes and technical methods developed in this paper can be successfully applied to wind and snow environment studies in other cold cities.

Ecological Planning and Design of Urban Green Space System of Sanya City

The construction of International Tourism Island has accelerated the development of Sanya City. The population aggregation and the external extension of urban area have brought a lot of negative effects, such as discontinuities of green space matrix, dysfunction of green wedge permeation, deficiency of eco-corridor, structural imbalance of green space system and so on. The overall layout of Green space system known as "One Belt & Three Bays, One Core & Six Towns, Two Axes & Three Wedges, Two Net Synchronous-construction" strengthens the eco-connection among different groups and green space in central area of the city, and realizes the collaborative construction of both resource corridor and landscape corridor. The eco-layout of green core, green corridor and green patch helps keep the integrity of large vegetation patches, enhances the eco-connection of different types of green space and improves finger-shaped network of urban green space. The most efficient way to promote the circulation of urban ecosystem and the positive development of Sanya City is to plan multilevel and three-dimensional eco-space structure and maximize ecological benefits of green space system.

Necessity of Collaboration between Technology and Architectural Design in Order to Develop the Urban Space Quality

Proper architectural design and appropriate usage of technology compatible with the environment in parts of a city which is called urban spaces, spaces such as parks, squares, sidewalks, shopping malls, leave a great impact on the quality of the urban life. Architectural design itself is born from technology;it means that, architecture is tied with science and technology, and is in direct contact with them. Technological innovations are one of the most important forces affecting the architectural changes. Nowadays, technological innovations are recognized as important and effective powers in development of sustainable environmental design. Today societies are constantly changing in terms of social, economic, political and technological alterations. Change is inevitable, and like all aspects of contemporary life, architecture should similarly offer an appropriate response to such changes for remaining sustainable, useful and appropriate. Architecture should also have a suitable response to laws and regulations of recent issues like safety, environment and energy conservation, and even personal security in architectural space. The purpose of this paper is, primarily an exploration of the concept of “urban space”, and in the second stage, it plans to review the fundamentals and impacts of using technology in urban spaces. The research method is descriptive-analytic and library research method is used for data collecting.

The development of contemporary society is increasingly trending towards diversification,and values humanity caring and har monious development.Under such background of the times,based on some related research in gender and space,this paper carried out in vestigations and categories against part of female space at home and abroad,and then put them into analysis,gaining a preliminary conclu sion that such question as neglecting gender difference,neglecting female consumption psychology and blindly making male-female space,etc.,exist in the interior design of female space.

Planning of Urban Public Disaster-prevention Green Spaces: A Case Study of Living Water Park in Chengdu City

Based on disaster-prevention functions of urban public green spaces, necessity and significance of emergency shelters in a city were analyzed. Taking Living Water Park in Chengdu for example, planning of urban public disaster-prevention green spaces was analyzed to further explore planning of urban disaster-prevention green space system and refugee spaces, and provide instructions for the planning and construction of urban disaster-prevention green spaces in China.

Sustainable living neighbourhoods:Measuring public space quality and walking environment in Lisbon

Obesity and global warming are two major challengesthat affect communities’health and quality of life.Providing good walking environments,with appropriate pedestrian infrastructure,green areas and access to commercial retail and transport hubs favour liveable,healthy,and sustainable cities.The Lisbon City Hall has implemented an intervention program in the public space as a strategy to improve environmental quality and mitigate the effects of climate change.The program“A square in each neighbourhood”intends not only to reinforce the economic base of Lisbon,namely tourism,restaurants,commerce,and creative activities but also to promote physical activity and improve the quality of living of all citizens.For studying the impact of the public space quality on the walking environment,Campolide,a typical Lisbon neighbourhood,Portugal,which includes one of the requalified squares,was selected.A two-step methodology based on spatial modelling is proposed.In the first step,the public space quality was evaluated based on a set of 13 urban quality attributes.Attributes,intended for the street level,were collected from open data platforms and complemented with a field survey.Then,through spatial analysis,these attributes were used to build the Pedestrian Environment Quality Indicator and the Priority Intervention Indicator.Using these indicators,walking-friendly streets were mapped and the most critical sites that require priority intervention were identified to prepare for the requalification planning process.The street with the highest quality in the study area according to the dimensions evaluated-connectivity,convenience,comfort,cleanliness,and conviviality-has a great offer of trees,bus stops,commercial establishments,commercial diversity,crossings,paper bins/eco points and esplanades.On the opposite side of the rank,the street with the lowest quality has no trees or green areas,transport stops,benches and tables,or commercial activity.The urban quality indicators constitute a helpful tool for city planners and policymakers when planning sustainable living neighbourhoods.

Actual Measurement of the Microclimate Environment of Green Spaces and Dynamic Simulation of Building Height in Xijing Community of Beijing

In this paper, three types of green spaces in Xijing Community in Shijingshan District of Beijing were selected for as the measuring points, the HOBO portable weather station was used to monitor the microclimate environmental changes in the same period and summarize the data of microclimate factors. The effectiveness of the simulation was verified by comparing the measured data with the simulated data obtained through ENVI-met. And strategies for microclimate adaptive design in residential areas were proposed according to the microclimate environmental characteristics of several green spaces.

During the period of independence of Uzbekistan to the 1990s to the present day there is a reassessment of values in the spiritual culture of the Uzbek people, when the problems of national identity become dominant in all spheres, including in urban planning.

Landscape Environment Design on the Front Area of Campus Square:A Case Study of Northwest A & F University

How to design a graceful campus with its culture and landscape respect is always a hot research topic of contemporary campus environment construction because the campus is very essential to promote the harmonious development of people’s physical and mental health. For the design of campus, the most important issue is to make the green landscape become the carrier of cultural heritage. The center square of campus is the core of space in the campus area, which is the key carrier to reflect the campus culture and the essence of environment.“Harvest Square” is the front part of the campus in Northwest A&F University, which takes green as theme to show the cultural taste and campus features. The article takes this square as an example to elaborate its design ideas, in order to explain the landscape design of front greening square in campus.

How Multi-Sensory Perception Plays a Landscape Restorative Role in Adelaide's Urban Green Space

Urban green space is an effective psychological restoration landscape site.However,Adelaide's urban green space tends to focus on visual design but neglect non-visual senses.Sensory influence is interactive and has profound and subtle effects on tourists.The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between auditory,tactile,and psychological restoration ofxirban green space from a multi-sensory perspective.This study used quantitative research methods to investigate auditory and tactile-related landscape factors that have a positive effect on restoration.It is expected that this study will contribute to the high-quality restoration of urban green space and promote human health.

首先,文章梳理了城市设计的绿色化思想演进历程,提出绿色城市设计须适应城镇化下半场的新形势和新要求。其次,从研析绿色化存量更新的现状问题入手,回应以内涵提升、功能复合、软硬结合为切入点的存量更新下的绿色城市设计转型导向。进而,从价值创造、空间组织、技术工具与治理引导的维度提出塑造存量更新下的绿色城市设计逻辑,归纳出实施路径协同性、空间营造适应性、绿色技术集成性与运作治理操作性等关键议题。在此基础上,整合形成功能复合与紧凑布局、景观安全与气候适应、多元包容与人居健康、能效优化与资源循环、便捷出行与绿色交通、智慧管理与有机更新的核心策略体系。文章力求为存量更新下的绿色城市设计理论与实践革新提供思路参考。

面向城市压力人群的公共疗愈空间设计探析

基于街区小气候环境冬夏协同优化的城市绿地生态网络精准修复

越来越多城市绿地生态网络建设进入存量更新和结构性优化并存发展的阶段,生态安全优先基础上如何进一步提升城市绿地生态网络的多种生态系统服务功能是当前风景园林实践研究的重要议题。应对全球气候变化、极端天气多发导致的人居环境宜居性下降问题,目前基于气候适应的城市绿地生态网络规划关注促进自然通风以缓解夏季热岛效应,尚忽视了其冬季可能带来的负效应。从气候调节视角切入,探讨城市绿地生态网络在协同冬夏季小气候环境中的低效空间识别与精准修复技术方法。以江苏省昆山市密集城区的189个街区单元为研究对象,通过遥感反演的方法对其冬、夏季小气候环境进行分析,聚类获得7类小气候特征街区。之后,叠加现状绿地生态网络与计算流体力学模拟风环境结果,提取现状适于通风的生态廊道,从宽度、方向、类型等方面分析其潜在通风效能,耦合街区冬夏小气候环境特征,识别研判现状绿地生态网络在冬夏温湿环境调节上存在的低效问题,并提出冬夏协同的精准修复策略,为优化人居环境宜居性、提升城市绿地生态网络生态系统服务综合效能提供技术参考。

基于光照需求的老旧小区公共空间更新设计研究

文章旨在探讨营造老旧小区公共空间高品质的光照场景与环境风貌的更新设计思路与应用策略。通过以天津本溪楼小区为例,运用问卷调研、访谈观察、需求卡片、行为注记等方法,剖析其公共空间的光环境资源分布、居民活动类型、行为习惯特征以及光照需求程度间的动态联系,提出遵循光照优先性、空间整体性、边界共享性、尺度适用性的设计原则。针对区内复合型街道、灵活型边界、开放型活动空间类型分别采取了功能融合与光照适配、场地互借与需求过渡、场景聚焦与群体共享的应用策略,有效提升了区内公共空间的光照资源的利用率与空间、设施功能适配的精准度,可使居民在日常活动中获得良好的光环境体验。

不同植被类型城市绿地土壤碳氮分布及影响因素

城市绿地土壤在调节城市生态系统碳氮循环和缓解热岛效应中起关键作用,但受自然与人为因素交互影响,不同地区、土壤质地或植被类型土壤碳氮分布存在显著差异。本研究选取内蒙古林科院树木园内草地、灌木林、油松(Pinus tabuliformis)人工林和杨(Populus)树人工林为研究对象,分析了各样地不同土层间土壤碳氮含量、储量空间分布特征及其对环境因子的响应。结果表明:(1)不同植被类型城市绿地土壤容重、毛管孔隙度、非毛管孔隙度及饱和持水量变化范围分别为1.37~1.41 g.cm^(-3)、35.71%~39.13%、2.98%~6.75%和31.23%~36.11%,其中草地土壤容重最大,毛管和非毛管孔隙度及饱和持水量最小,杨树人工林则相反;(2)土壤有机碳和全氮含量变幅分别为16.70~38.34 g.kg^(-1)和0.54~1.64 g.kg^(-1),分别在20~40 cm和0~10 cm土层增幅最大,为57.01%和33.33%,且表现为:杨树人工林>油松人工林>灌木林>草地;(3)土壤有机碳和全氮储量变幅分别为126.89~163.33 t.hm^(-2)和4.44~6.24 t.hm^(-2),0~20 cm土层碳氮储量占比最大,均超过总储量的50%,且均在20~40 cm土层增幅最大,分别为53.83%和66.05%;(4)垂直剖面上,各样地土壤碳氮含量、储量均随土层加深而减小,具有明显的表聚性;(5)城市绿地土壤碳氮空间分布影响因素具有综合性和复杂性,本研究中土壤容重、植被类型和微生物数量是土壤碳氮空间分布的主控因子。

环境心理学视域下商业空间室内环境设计研究——以南京德基广场购物中心二期为例

探究环境心理学在商业空间室内环境设计过程中的应用策略,解决商业空间过度重视经济效益与形式化设计,导致对消费者心理、行为、情感等方面需求有所忽视形成的问题。通过对当代商业空间室内环境设计问题进行分析,结合环境心理学理论,厘清消费者行为心理需求与室内环境的关系,以环境心理学在南京德基广场购物中心二期的具体设计应用为例,总结商业空间室内环境的设计方法及发展趋势。环境心理学介入商业空间室内环境设计,紧密联系文化、场景、消费者、商业,优化商业空间室内环境、提升商业空间品质。注重消费者消费行为心理需求,打造消费者与商业共存的最佳空间理想状态。
