Large numbers of basic transceiver stations,where the telecommunication room is one of the main components,comprise an important part of the telecommunication system.After earthquakes,considerable economic loss from telecommunication systems is often associated with seismic damage and functional loss of the telecommunication room.However,research related to this has been limited.In this study,shaking table tests were conducted for a full-scale typical telecommunication room,including a light-steel house and the necessary communication and power supply equipment.The tests not only focused on the seismic damage to all the structures but also considered the functions of the communication and power supply of the equipment.The interactions between these facilities and their effects on communication function were also investigated.Compared with the damage to structures,the interruption of the power supply due to earthquakes is a weak link.Finally,the damage indexes,together with their threshold values of different damage states for the communication and power supply equipment,were derived from the test results.The results of this research can contribute to the literature gaps regarding seismic performance studies of telecommunication rooms,and can serve as a valuable reference for future research on its seismic fragility and economic losses evaluation. 展开更多

Objective:To introduce the emergency management of nursing human resources and supplies of a large general hospital when facing the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Method:The Nursing Department of the hospital fully executed its functional authority to establish a three-level echelon of sustainable support,allocate human recourses dynamically,organize pre-service training,supervise the key working steps,formulate positive incentive methods,and deploy medical supplies scientifically.Result:By taking these strategies,the hospital effectively improved the coping capacity of the nursing team and played a positive role in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.Conclusion:The emergency management of nursing human resources and material resources for COVID-19 of the hospital is successful.But several deficiencies were identified as well,which indicated that the hospital needs to establish an efficient emergency management system,and pay attention to the practice of nursing emergency plans to enhance coping capacities in public health emergencies. 展开更多

Managing economic and social profit of cooperative models in three-echelon reverse supply chain for waste electrical and electronic equipment 被引量:1

In addition to maximizing economic benefits, reverse supply chains should further seek to maximize social benefits by increasing the quantity of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The paper investigates cooperative models with different parties in a three-echelon reverse supply chain for WEEE consisting of a single collector, a single remanufacturer, and two retailers based on complete information. In acldition, the optimal decisions of four cooperative models and the effect of the market demand of remanufactured WEEE products and the market share of two retailers on the optimal decisions are discussed. The results indicate that optimal total channel profit and recycle quantity in a reverse supply chain are maximized in a centralized model. The optimal total channel profit and recycle quantity increase with an increase in the market demand of remanufactured WEEE products. The three-echelon reverse supply chain consisting of duopolistic retailers maximizes total channel profit and recycle quantity in a reverse supply chain fbr WEEE. 展开更多

Introduction:Past incidences have been recorded relating to mishandling of hazardous material either due to insufficient knowledge or inappropriate equipment resulting in the indirect transfer of infectious agents.It is necessary to identify gaps that inhibit proper protection of healthcare professionals from being inadvertently exposed to biological risks.Methods:A cross sectional study was conducted at multiple laboratories across Karachi,Pakistan from January to August 2018.Descriptive questionnaire was used to record data about types and usage of Biological Safety Cabinets(BSCs),along with policies and practices adapted for its certification.Results:A total of 30 laboratories were visited which included Clinical/Biomedical,University hospital,R&D and animal laboratories.Among these 60%always used BSCs,30%periodically used BSCs while 10%did not have any BSCs.Among these facilities 63.6%had BSC class II-A2,39.9%had BSC class II-B2,4.5%had BSC class III and only 0.9%had BSC class I cabinet.No protocols for field certification of BSCs were available.Conclusion:Establishment of biosafety training sessions,implementation and development of protocol for field certification for proper and safe use of BSCs on a local basis accompanied by continuous monitoring is required,for creating a safe environment for all laboratory staff. 展开更多
