Cultural ancient roads,known in Chinese as gudao,serve as heritage trails that carry historical exchanges across various regions in China.Due to their extensive preservation,wide geographical distribution,diverse them...Cultural ancient roads,known in Chinese as gudao,serve as heritage trails that carry historical exchanges across various regions in China.Due to their extensive preservation,wide geographical distribution,diverse thematic variations,and considerable tourist appeal,these paths have emerged as representative heritage trails,increasingly transforming into a novel tourism product experience that is highly favored by tourists and recognized by government authorities.However,research on ancient roads for tourism in China currently lacks a systematic theoretical framework,as well as relevant policies,regulations,and standards to guide their practical development.Therefore,there is a pressing need to draw upon international best practices and conduct foundational research to develop an experience element system that aligns with the perceptions,behaviors,and consumption characteristics of Chinese tourists,thereby advancing theoretical exploration in this field.This study focuses on the representative Ancient Shu Road as a case study and employs a mixed-method approach that integrates qualitative and quantitative research.It aims to construct a tourist-centric scale for the experience elements of ancient road tourism while analyzing the interactive relationship between these experience elements and tourist needs.This study addresses a significant gap in the development of indicator systems for domestic studies of ancient road tourism experiences.Ultimately,the study establishes a comprehensive scale that encompasses three core categories—trail resources and environment,facilities and services,and modes of tourism activities—along with eight primary dimensions:core resources,surrounding cultural environment,surrounding natural environment,tourism reception facilities and services,infrastructure and support services,information facilities and information services,and outdoor and recreational activities.This scale consists of thirty-two specific items,providing a robust reference for future research endeavors.Additionally,the study proposes specific development strategies related to key mechanisms,spatial configuration,and facility construction to enhance the overall development of ancient road tourism.展开更多
Establishing a sense of ritual within tourism consumption scenarios offers tourists the opportunity for interactive engagement.Drawing upon the value co-creation theory,this study constructed an influence mechanism mo...Establishing a sense of ritual within tourism consumption scenarios offers tourists the opportunity for interactive engagement.Drawing upon the value co-creation theory,this study constructed an influence mechanism model to examine tourists'active engagement in the process of co-creating tourism experience values.It employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling(PLS-SEM)to empirically test the proposed hypotheses.The findings demonstrate that the model constructed in the present study exhibits robust reliability,validity,and explanatory power.The perception of the sense of ritual in tourism exerts a significant positive influence on tourists’co-creation of tourism experience values,thereby significantly enhancing both the communitas and flow experienced by tourists during their travels.Moreover,such communitas and flow can mediate the influence of the sense of ritual in tourism on tourists’co-creation of tourism experience values.This study contributes to advancing the current research on tourists’co-creation of tourism experience values and the sense of ritual in tourism,thereby providing theoretical foundations for cultivating a sense of ritual within tourism consumption scenarios.展开更多

This paper analyzes 1,662 travelogues about the Wulong tourism destination from the Mafengwo platform using literature research and network text analysis.The goal is to identify the driving factors affecting Wulong’s...This paper analyzes 1,662 travelogues about the Wulong tourism destination from the Mafengwo platform using literature research and network text analysis.The goal is to identify the driving factors affecting Wulong’s tourism service experience and suggest improvements.By extracting high-frequency words and analyzing emotions from the travelogues,tourists’conceptions and perceptions were identified and the factors affecting the tourism service experience in Wulong were summarized into six categories:tourism resource attractions,tourism transportation,tourism facilities and digital services,cultural charms,special cuisines,and environmental ambiance.Tourists’emotional perceptions of Wulong are primarily positive,with negative perceptions mainly related to unsatisfactory tourism facilities and digital services in the Wulong scenic area.This study helps the Wulong tourist destination understand the issues and deficiencies in tourists’service experiences,providing significant guidance for improving service quality and offering data support for service marketing and optimization.展开更多

Factor analysis method is adopted to test the interviewees′ expectation of the eco-tourism experience. Result shows that eco-tourism experience of tourist is mainly reflected in the ecological leisure experience, the ecological tourism experience, the ecological experience in scenic spot, and the self-realization experience. Analysis on the recognition of the expectation for eco-tourism experience shows that the interviewees′ expectations of the eco-tourism experience are in the order of the ecological experience in scenic spot, the eco-tourism experience, the ecological leisure experience, and the self-realization experience. Difference analysis on the interviewees′ expectations for the eco-tourism experience is carried out by market segmentation. Result shows that there are significant differences in the demand of eco-tourism experience among different types of tourisms. According to the investigation result, countermeasures for the construction and marketing of eco-tourism sites are put forward.展开更多

As a consequence, Chiang Rai has targeted to promote and develop cultural tourism in order to attract more foreign tourists to visit and satisfy their needs and expectations, which is seen as one of the most important aspects in the current tourism development strategies in Chiang Rai. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to compare the gap between pre- and post-experience of foreign tourists who visited Chiang Rai towards their expectation and experience on" (1) arts and crafts; (2) life style of local people; (3) local food; (4) festivals and local traditions; (5) ethnic/indigenous life style and culture; and (6) cultural heritage. The quantitative approach has been chosen to conduct the study by using a questionnaire with 400 foreign tourists and One-way ANOVA was the statistic used for gap analysis between tourist expectation and experience. The data collection included the analysis of government documents and the relevant literature. The ~mding of the study illustrated that cultural tourism plays an important role in tourism development in Chiang Rai and the gap between pre- and post-experience of tourists. However, in order to minimize the gap between pre- and post-experience of tourists and maximize their expectation and satisfaction, both government and private sectors should have an in-depth understanding towards the management of cultural tourism. The purpose of this research is to analyze the structural relationship between camping tourists’ motivation, experience, and satisfaction. The survey was conducted in a convenient sampling method, and a total of 464 valid questionnaires were collected. After descriptive statistics and partial least squares (PLS) statistics analysis, the results show that the higher the motivation of camping tourists, the more positive their experience and the higher their satisfaction. In addition, this research also confirms that experience has a mediating effect on motivation and satisfaction in terms of academic theory.展开更多

This essay takes a closer look at one of the most remarkable exemptions of the prevailing memory culture at Holocaust memorials: the sites and events highlighting Anne Frank and her short life in troubled times. Over the past years millions of travelers from all over the world have shown a genuine interest in learning about the life world of their young heroine thus creating what has been termed Anne Frank Tourism. In 2014, 1.2 million people visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam: the museum and educational center, the place in hiding where she wrote her now famous and widely read diary. Several other sites connected to the life path of Anne Frank, from her birth place in Frankfurt to the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp where her life prematurely ended, have also become part of the mostly young tourists' search for Anne Frank's life and legacy. With the rising popularity of Anne Frank related sites the management of some of the locales has become more problematic which is discussed in the context of a several museums, centers and historic sites. On a more general note, it is argued here that in recent years the more group oriented commemoration practices at Holocaust sites have given way to a trend of putting individual faces to the victims of the Holocaust. It was, in particular, novels, films and TV productions about the Holocaust that emphasized individual life paths and events and enticed visitation to more personalized sites. Steven Spielberg's popular movie Schindler's List, for example, contributed to "Schindler tourism", a form of special interest tourism in Krakow. More and more Holocaust memorial sites have also started to honor outstanding individuals or small groups in resistance and opposition to Nazi Germany. Examples of this are the fighters of the 1943 uprising at the Sobibor death camp and the courageous student members of the "White Rose" in Munich who stood up to the powers of the time and were executed. In the concluding part the question will be raised of what is the proper approach in the representation of the fate of the victims of Nazi Germany: A personalized approach or a greater focus on an explanation of the ideology and policies behind the rule of terror which may contribute to the visitors' better understanding of a complex history?展开更多
Place attachment has been a research focus in the fields of park and recreation management.Place attachment plays an important role in promoting sustainable development of parks and mountain tourism destination,howeve...Place attachment has been a research focus in the fields of park and recreation management.Place attachment plays an important role in promoting sustainable development of parks and mountain tourism destination,however,there are limited studies that identified the spatial patterns of place attachment,especially in the context of mountain tourism destinations in China.Also,the geospatial spectrum of visitors is usually broad,examining the multivariate relationships among spatial proximity,perceived authenticity,and place attachment are essential for mountain tourism destinations to promote destination image and strengthen emotional bonding with targeted visitor groups.In this study,we selected an iconic and highly visited park,Jiuzhai Valley National Park in China,as our study site and conducted an on-site visitor survey to collect 557 samples.Study uses factor analysis and the structure equation model to analyze the relationship among spatial proximity,perceived authenticity,and place attachment.Results validate the two-dimension structure of place attachment and perceived authenticity.Study findings suggest that spatial proximity has significant impacts on existential authenticity and place identity,but has no significant impacts on place dependence.Perceived authenticity has a positive impact on place attachment.Study results advance the theories of place attachment and provide effective strategies to enhance emotional attachment between visitors and mountain tourism destinations.展开更多

文摘This paper analyzes 1,662 travelogues about the Wulong tourism destination from the Mafengwo platform using literature research and network text analysis.The goal is to identify the driving factors affecting Wulong’s tourism service experience and suggest improvements.By extracting high-frequency words and analyzing emotions from the travelogues,tourists’conceptions and perceptions were identified and the factors affecting the tourism service experience in Wulong were summarized into six categories:tourism resource attractions,tourism transportation,tourism facilities and digital services,cultural charms,special cuisines,and environmental ambiance.Tourists’emotional perceptions of Wulong are primarily positive,with negative perceptions mainly related to unsatisfactory tourism facilities and digital services in the Wulong scenic area.This study helps the Wulong tourist destination understand the issues and deficiencies in tourists’service experiences,providing significant guidance for improving service quality and offering data support for service marketing and optimization.
文摘Experience economy is the fourth development phase following the agrarian economy,the industrial economy and the service economy.In terms of tourist economy,travelling itself is a kind of experience activity,thus such an attribute determines that tourist products should satisfy the individualized needs of tourists.This study proposes that the theory of experience economy can be applied in the development of tea culture tourism to explore the functions of tea culture which could be experienced by tourists,such as leisure experience,health experience,culture experience and so on,and meanwhile,gives strategies of developing tea culture tourism in the age of experience economy.
文摘In view of the changes of tourism industry in the background of experience economy, and starting from the perspective that the emotional needs of tourists were boosting and they had paid increasing attention upon experience during the process of travelling, this research tried to find out a new development mode of rural tourism which took identification of tourism resource , subdivision of target market, designing of experience projects and personnel training into consideration. In the process of development, designing and implementation, it emphasized the definiteness of development direction, construction of unique theme, creation of experience atmosphere, showing tourists the charm of countryside in a full and deep way, and consequently highlighted the cultural, recreational and regional feature of rural tourism. What's more, it should satisfy tourists' emotional needs with emotional, interactive and personalized tourist products, leave tourists unique experience and good memories, prolong tourists' stay and enhance their loyalty, so as to generate higher economic benefits, promote rural economic growth and construct harmonious new countryside.

文摘Forest experience is an important scale for measuring the development degree of forest tourism,and also an indispensable part of forest tounsm.Domestic theoretical and practical researches on forest experience and forest tourism have been less reported,forest tounsm development and research from the perspective of forest experience have remained in the exploration stage,and researches on natural education and forest culture have also been just initiated.This paper explored problems of current forest tourism development from three perspectives of forest experience,i.e.environmental index,experience content and facility service.By applying scientific development and marketing methods,and combining with traditional health-care culture,forest tourism development spaces could be expanded.Finally,the paper proposed to establish forest ecological monitoring system and enrich forest experience projects to provide visitors forest tounsm expenence with high additional value and satisfaction degree.

文摘To revitalize rural tourism and improve the quality of life of rural residents,the successful experience of rural tourism in South Korea is used for reference,with an important significance for promoting the development of rural tourism in Tai'an City.In this paper,three successful rural tourism cases of South Korea(Shuchuan,Hannong Village,Xinli Mupianwa Village)are analyzed first,and their successful experience is summarized.On the basis of accurately grasping current situation and problems of rural tourism development in Tai'an City,the countermeasures of promoting the development of rural tourism in Tai'an City are proposed:mobilizing the enthusiasm of villagers,multi-channel access to funds,diversified talent cultivation methods,product marketing system,and rural tourism management system.

文摘Taking Lingtong Grand Canyon in Jingxi County, Baise City, Guangxi, China as a research object, the face-to-face questionnaire survey on tourist is carried out, in order to obtain the basic situation of the interviewees, as well as their expectation for the eco-tourism experience. Factor analysis method is adopted to test the interviewees′ expectation of the eco-tourism experience. Result shows that eco-tourism experience of tourist is mainly reflected in the ecological leisure experience, the ecological tourism experience, the ecological experience in scenic spot, and the self-realization experience. Analysis on the recognition of the expectation for eco-tourism experience shows that the interviewees′ expectations of the eco-tourism experience are in the order of the ecological experience in scenic spot, the eco-tourism experience, the ecological leisure experience, and the self-realization experience. Difference analysis on the interviewees′ expectations for the eco-tourism experience is carried out by market segmentation. Result shows that there are significant differences in the demand of eco-tourism experience among different types of tourisms. According to the investigation result, countermeasures for the construction and marketing of eco-tourism sites are put forward.

文摘In recent years,under the guidance of the national“all-for-one tourism”and“integration of culture and tourism”development policies,humanistic leisure tourism has become the current hot spot in the development of Chinese tourism industry.In 2013,China promulgated the National Tourism and Leisure Outline(2013-2020),which boosted the development of tourism and leisure consumption of urban and rural residents.In 2016,the State Council issued the“Several Opinions on Further Promoting the Construction of New Urbanization”,which clearly stated that it is necessary to“accelerate the cultivation of characteristic small towns”.The construction of small towns(blocks)led by the integration of culture and tourism has gradually become a new driving force for local economic development.In 2020,the global outbreak of the COVID-19 and normalized prevention and control measures have made the choice of tourism and leisure destinations more localized and short-distance.Characteristic leisure blocks and small towns have increasingly become important destinations for people to travel and leisure activities.Therefore,this article takes Shenzhen Nantou Ancient City as the research area,and uses literature review,questionnaire survey,and statistical survey methods(SPSS.25 and PLS.3.0)to obtain relevant literature and data and describe them.Statistical analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are designed to examine the relationship between the cultural authenticity of leisure blocks,product combination,accessibility,the sense of place identification,recreational intentions,and experience quality,diagnose and discover tourism from them,discover the problems existing on the supply side of tourism object,and provide guidance and suggestions for the construction and development of cultural tourism and leisure characteristic blocks.Finally,this paper tests 10 hypotheses and draws research conclusions:(1)Cultural authenticity has positive impact on recreational intention,place identification,and experience quality in humanistic leisure tourism.(2)Tourism product combination has positive impact on recreational intention and experience quality.(3)Accessibility can affect recreational intention and experience quality in a positive way.(4)Place identification can affect recreational intention in a positive way.(5)Experience quality has positive impact on recreational intention and place identification.

文摘Chiang Rai is one of the most famous destinations in Thailand due to its rich tourism resources especially with many cultural resources and well-organized and developed tourism infrastructure. As a consequence, Chiang Rai has targeted to promote and develop cultural tourism in order to attract more foreign tourists to visit and satisfy their needs and expectations, which is seen as one of the most important aspects in the current tourism development strategies in Chiang Rai. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to compare the gap between pre- and post-experience of foreign tourists who visited Chiang Rai towards their expectation and experience on" (1) arts and crafts; (2) life style of local people; (3) local food; (4) festivals and local traditions; (5) ethnic/indigenous life style and culture; and (6) cultural heritage. The quantitative approach has been chosen to conduct the study by using a questionnaire with 400 foreign tourists and One-way ANOVA was the statistic used for gap analysis between tourist expectation and experience. The data collection included the analysis of government documents and the relevant literature. The ~mding of the study illustrated that cultural tourism plays an important role in tourism development in Chiang Rai and the gap between pre- and post-experience of tourists. However, in order to minimize the gap between pre- and post-experience of tourists and maximize their expectation and satisfaction, both government and private sectors should have an in-depth understanding towards the management of cultural tourism. The tourist needs more quality cultural products and foreign language skills from staffand local people.

文摘The good service experience,entertainment facilities and overall environment of a scenic spot,as well as the spending that tourists feel the value for money,will all affect tourists’ own tourism experience and thus affect their revisit intention A questionnaire survey was conducted to Dinghu Mountain tourists,and different analysis methods of SPSS 22.0 statistical analysis software were used to analyze the results of the questionnaire.The results showed that the tourism experience value and its dimensions had a positive impact on revisit intention,that is,hedonism,return on investment,aesthetic sensibility and service superiority of tourism experience value had a positive impact on revisit intention.The results will provide the theoretical guidance for Dinghu Mountain Scenic Spot to attach importance to tourist experience and to take corresponding measures to improve tourist experience.

文摘In the context of rural revitalization era,more and more villages choose tourism as the direction of development,and the primary link of rural tourism development is to combine the characteristics of different villages,mining tourism resources suitable for their own characteristics and development direction.For villages with tea culture,how to develop rural health tourism from the perspective of tea travel experience has become a new focus.Taking Huanghuaxi in Anhua County as an example,the paper evaluates and analyzes the planning methods and key points of rural health tourism based on tea tourism experience from the perspective of development potential,and makes clear the foothold and feasibility of health tourism development.Secondly,from the perspective of tea culture activation and inheritance and health tourism design,this paper discusses how to effectively integrate the functions of tea culture and health tourism.Through the spatial layout,road traffic,landscape and construction and operation of Huanghuaxi Village in Anhua County,a series of construction strategies are proposed to make tea culture and health industry promote each other.At the same time,there are two kinds of theme tour lines for people with different needs,namely,the leisure vacation theme tour line and the tea travel health theme tour line,which provide new ideas for the planning and design research of rural recreation projects related to the tea travel experience.
文摘In recent years, camping is popular in Taiwan, but the research on campers’ participation behavior is still insufficient. The purpose of this research is to analyze the structural relationship between camping tourists’ motivation, experience, and satisfaction. The survey was conducted in a convenient sampling method, and a total of 464 valid questionnaires were collected. After descriptive statistics and partial least squares (PLS) statistics analysis, the results show that the higher the motivation of camping tourists, the more positive their experience and the higher their satisfaction. In addition, this research also confirms that experience has a mediating effect on motivation and satisfaction in terms of academic theory.
文摘Holocaust memorial sites rarely tell the story of individual fates but rather give attention to the main or larger population groups that were the focus of persecution and extermination during the Nazi Germany twelve years of terror in Europe 1933-45. This essay takes a closer look at one of the most remarkable exemptions of the prevailing memory culture at Holocaust memorials: the sites and events highlighting Anne Frank and her short life in troubled times. Over the past years millions of travelers from all over the world have shown a genuine interest in learning about the life world of their young heroine thus creating what has been termed Anne Frank Tourism. In 2014, 1.2 million people visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam: the museum and educational center, the place in hiding where she wrote her now famous and widely read diary. Several other sites connected to the life path of Anne Frank, from her birth place in Frankfurt to the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp where her life prematurely ended, have also become part of the mostly young tourists' search for Anne Frank's life and legacy. With the rising popularity of Anne Frank related sites the management of some of the locales has become more problematic which is discussed in the context of a several museums, centers and historic sites. On a more general note, it is argued here that in recent years the more group oriented commemoration practices at Holocaust sites have given way to a trend of putting individual faces to the victims of the Holocaust. It was, in particular, novels, films and TV productions about the Holocaust that emphasized individual life paths and events and enticed visitation to more personalized sites. Steven Spielberg's popular movie Schindler's List, for example, contributed to "Schindler tourism", a form of special interest tourism in Krakow. More and more Holocaust memorial sites have also started to honor outstanding individuals or small groups in resistance and opposition to Nazi Germany. Examples of this are the fighters of the 1943 uprising at the Sobibor death camp and the courageous student members of the "White Rose" in Munich who stood up to the powers of the time and were executed. In the concluding part the question will be raised of what is the proper approach in the representation of the fate of the victims of Nazi Germany: A personalized approach or a greater focus on an explanation of the ideology and policies behind the rule of terror which may contribute to the visitors' better understanding of a complex history?

文摘Place attachment has been a research focus in the fields of park and recreation management.Place attachment plays an important role in promoting sustainable development of parks and mountain tourism destination,however,there are limited studies that identified the spatial patterns of place attachment,especially in the context of mountain tourism destinations in China.Also,the geospatial spectrum of visitors is usually broad,examining the multivariate relationships among spatial proximity,perceived authenticity,and place attachment are essential for mountain tourism destinations to promote destination image and strengthen emotional bonding with targeted visitor groups.In this study,we selected an iconic and highly visited park,Jiuzhai Valley National Park in China,as our study site and conducted an on-site visitor survey to collect 557 samples.Study uses factor analysis and the structure equation model to analyze the relationship among spatial proximity,perceived authenticity,and place attachment.Results validate the two-dimension structure of place attachment and perceived authenticity.Study findings suggest that spatial proximity has significant impacts on existential authenticity and place identity,but has no significant impacts on place dependence.Perceived authenticity has a positive impact on place attachment.Study results advance the theories of place attachment and provide effective strategies to enhance emotional attachment between visitors and mountain tourism destinations.
