Based on the solution for a nominal linear quadratic regulator problem with a prescribeddegree of stability, the methods of constructing state feedback controllers are developed to ensurethe robust stability of the closed loop system under the conditions weaker than the matchingcondition. The results indicate that the optimal parameter pair can be obtained effectively by the proposed strategy for a given in-control average running length (ARLo) and shift to detect under any conditions, removing the drawback of incompleteness existing in the tables that had been reported.展开更多

The proposed architecture was based on two-stage variable gain amplifier (VGA) chain with a novel DC offset canceller circuit, which contained an improved Gilbert cell and a Gm-C feedback loop. To keep the VGA with a linearity in dB characteristic, an improved exponential gain control circuit was introduced. The AGC was implemented in 0.18 gm standard CMOS process. Simulation and measurement results verified that its gain ranged from -20 dB to 30 dB, and band- width ranged from 100 kHz to 10 MHz. Its power consumption was 19.8 mW under a voltage supply of 3.3 V.展开更多

This paper aims to design a scheme for the concurrent use ...Cognitive radio technology makes efficient use of the valuable radio frequency spectrum in a non-interfering manner to solve the problem of spectrum scarcity. This paper aims to design a scheme for the concurrent use of licensed frequencies by Underlay Cognitive Users (UCUs). We develop a new receiver-initiated Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol to facilitate the selections of alternative reliable carrier frequencies. A circuit is designed to establish reliable carrier selections based on the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) at the receiving end. Based on both packet-level simulations and various performance parameters, a comparison is carried out among conventional techniques, including the Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (MACA) and MACA by invitation(MACA-BI) techniques, and our scheme. The simulated results demonstrate that when conventional techniques are used, the system overhead time increases from 0.5 s on the first attempt to 16.5 s on the sixth attempt. In the proposed scheme under the same failure condition, overhead time varies from 0.5 s to 2 s. This improvement is due to the complete elimination of the exponential waiting time that occurs during failed transmissions. An average efficiency of 60% is achieved with our scheme while only 43% and 34% average efficiencies are achieved with the MACA and MACA-BI techniques, respectively. The throughput performance of our scheme on the fourth attempt is 7 Mbps, whereas for the MACA and MACA-BI protocols, it is 1.9 Mbps and 2.2 Mbps respectively.展开更多

Based on some relatively simple threshold constants, three levels of event conditions are set and thus the ETIC scheme is designed. Three cases for ETIC with and without time-delays and data dropouts are studied respectively, and the criteria on exponential stability are derived for the controlled DDS. The stabilization in the form of exponential stability is achieved for DDS under the designed ETIC with or without time-delays. And in the case of the ETIC data dropouts, the conditions of exponential stabilization are derived for DDS and the maximal allowable dropout rates for ETIC are estimated. Finally, one example with numerical simulations is worked out for illustration.展开更多

This paper introduces new ...This paper presents the development of improved synergetic current control for the injected current of an inverter in the grid-connected microgrid and the distributed generation system(DGS). This paper introduces new formulas of the macro-variable functions for integral synergetic control(SC)and integral fast terminal SC, which both have an integral term to guarantee zero steady-state error. The proposed integral SC and integral fast terminal SC achieve a seamless performance such as the fast convergence, minimal overshoot, zero steady-state error, and chattering-free operation. To demonstrate the meritorious performance of the proposed scheme for injected current control, it is compared with the performance of a proportional-integral(PI) controller and advanced exponential sliding mode control(SMC). Finally, the practicality of the proposed scheme is justified by experimental results obtained through rapid control prototyping(RCP) using the dSPACESCALEXIO platform.展开更多
