However, the convergence is relatively slow. Modal-based algorithms usually provide much faster convergence than SPGD; however, the limited actuator stroke of the deformable mirror (DM) often prohibits the sensing of higher-order modes or renders a closed-loop correction inapplicable. Based on a comparative analysis of SPGD and the DM-modal-based algorithm, a hybrid approach involving both algorithms is proposed for extended image-based WSAO, and is demonstrated in this experiment. The hybrid approach can achieve similar correction results to pure SPGD, but with a dramatically decreased iteration number.展开更多
A method of conversion from whispered speech to normal speech using the extended bilinear transformation was proposed. On account of the different deviation degrees of the whisper's formants in different frequency ba...A method of conversion from whispered speech to normal speech using the extended bilinear transformation was proposed. On account of the different deviation degrees of the whisper's formants in different frequency bands, the spectrum of the whispered speech will be processed in the separate partitions of this paper. On the basis of this spectrum, we will establish a conversion function able to usefully convert whispered speech to normal speech. Because of the whisper's non-linear offset in relation to normal speech, this paper introduces an expansion factor in the bilinear transform function making it correspond more closely to the actual conversion demands of whispered speech to normal speech. The introduction of this factor takes the non-linear move of the spectrum and the compression of the formant bandwidth into consideration, thus effectively reducing the spectrum distortion distance in the conversion. The experiment results show that the conversion presented in this paper effectively improves both the sound quality and the intelligibility of whispered speech.展开更多

High resolution localization needs to employ jointly two sorts of high resoluti...Multiple sources localization is an important technique applied in many areasl such as sonar, radar, biomedical, and geology exploration. High resolution localization needs to employ jointly two sorts of high resolution estimators, time-delay estimator and Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimator, both of which are tough problems attracting many signal processing researchers. There is also another difficulty that is to pair two groups of parameters in timedelay and DOA domains. In underwater environment, multiple sources localization research faces more difficulties because of the long duration emitted wave, limit aperture of array, and short data record of echoes. In this paper, an new extended ESPRIT (Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Technique) method is presented. With a single echo wave, both time-delay and DOA parameters of multiple sources are estimated simultaneously.No additional pairing algorithm is needed to obtain the source locations. The performance of the new estimators and the probability of correct pairing is given by computer simulations, andthe results shows that good estimation can be obtained in low SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) for multiple sources localization.展开更多
