In recent years, traditional villages have emerged as popular tourist destinations due to their distinctive resource value.Typically situated in remote and less developed areas, traditional villages boast primitive natural surroundings and rich historical and cultural heritage. These characteristics offer urban dwellers a temporary escape from the complexities of modern life, allowing them to experience physical and mental rejuvenation, mental relaxation, and overall happiness during their visit.By conducting a review of the existing literature concerning tourists’happiness in traditional villages, this study establishes a framework to understand tourists’happiness in traditional village tourism.Using the Qiangang ancient village in Conghua District,Guangzhou as a case study, the research examines the current state of rural characteristics, the establishment of cultural brands, and the promotion of the active utilization of ancient villages within the context of integrating culture, sports, tourism, and agriculture.Based on this analysis, the author proposes strategies to enhance tourists’happiness, including the preservation and development of rural characteristics, the promotion and preservation of local cultural attributes, and the collaborative advancement of culture, sports, tourism, and agriculture to engage key stakeholders actively. 展开更多

The Science teachers in primary schools are the key group in developing science education, and they play a vital role in realizing the dream of strengthening the country through education. Their professional happiness deserves special attention. Whether this group is happy not only affects their own working conditions and quality of life, but also affects the work vitality of other teachers. Improving the professional happiness of science teachers in primary schools has become an important topic in the construction of teachers’ team in the new period. At present, the intensity of primary school science teachers’ own work is high, their non-own work is increasing, their physical and mental health is difficult to guarantee, and their professional happiness is reduced. The main causes of the problems are poor individual psychological quality, poor school management style and improper social cognitive evaluation. In order to solve this problem, we have explored strategies to improve the professional happiness of science teachers in primary schools through reshaping teachers’ work, democratic management of schools and national policy guarantee. 展开更多

Creation of the universe was a leap from absolute entropy to substance and the vital world. According to our hypothesis, the goal of creating the universe and humans was to create enjoyment and pleasure by depressing the level of entropy. Current definitions do not adequately express the nature and origin of happiness or suffering, nor do they suggest how to treat, relieve, and prevent the torment of a healthy or sick individual. Our team developed and proposed the entropy theory as a new definition for human happiness and suffering. Entropy is a lack of order or a state of chaos. Human happiness may be defined as the complex of positive sensations, perceptions, emotions, or thoughts. These arise due to the depressed level of entropy of the individual's organism, empathy for others, or germane surroundings in the past, present, or in the future. Human suffering is the complex of negative sensations, perceptions, emotions, or thoughts that arise due to an increased level of entropy of a person's organism, empathy for others, or germane surroundings in the past, present, or future. A source of happiness and pleasure denotes depression of entropy in humans. Therefore, in order to treat suffering, one should ensure that the entropy level is reduced by complementing it with that which is missing. 展开更多

Objective:An acute shortage of nurses exists all over the world.Part of this shortage appears to be due to nurses’low job satisfaction, low retention, and high turnover.Happiness at work is identified as a contributing factor that determines the shortage of nurses across the world. This paper critically appraised the existing scientific articles that assessed the individual and organizational predictors of happiness among nurses. Methods:The systematic review was conducted from August 2010 to August 2020 using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines.Scientific articles were searched in the electronic databases(Scopus,Medline,CINAHL,Psych INFO,and Pubmed Central)on the predictors of happiness among nurses. Results:A total of 13 articles were selected following the literature search and a thematic analysis was done. This review provides updated evidence on the predictors of nurses’happiness.Job-related predictors were identified as organizational predictors;and personal, psychological, family, social, and spiritual predictors were reported to be the individual predictors. Conclusions:As both individual and organizational predictors determine the happiness of nurses, the authors recommend the need for future interventional studies to increase the nurses’happiness, their mental health, and health-related quality of life. 展开更多

This study examines the correlation ~mong a number of personal and environmental resources that can recluce u^pz-~on, These are: religiosity, happiness, social support, and self-controL The participants in the study consisted of 219 Arab students from teacher training colleges in the Triangle region in central Israel. The findings indicate that all the resources that were examined contribute to reducing the level of depression; in other words, significant negative correlations were found between the level of religiosity, happiness, social support and self-control on the one hand, and the level of depression on the other hand. These findings are consistent with those of other studies conducted elsewhere in the world on different populations CChristian and lewish, as well as Muslim). The present study and its findings are, however, the first to address the understanding of depression among the populace in question. The findings were discussed in accordance with a number of different theories. 展开更多

Background: Happiness varies across the life course in a U shape, with the least happiness in mid-life during the working years. Therefore, choosing a career may be an important factor in life’s happiness. However, the relationship between the career selection process and happiness remains unclear. Methods: We surveyed 805 schoolteachers, office workers, and nurses from an available marketing database using an ad hoc questionnaire assessing happiness and career selection type. Results and Discussion: We found that happiness was significantly greater among schoolteachers and nurses than for office workers in Japan. Furthermore, among schoolteachers and office workers, an evasive/avoidance type of career-selection process had an unfavorable effect on happiness. However, among nurses, no such association was observed. Conclusion: Paying attention to the career-selection process may be helpful to improve happiness. 展开更多

Introduction: The present study sought to examine the effectiveness of quality of life therapy on increasing happiness among patients with major depression. Methods: The research followed an experimental research design with an experimental and a control group. To this end, among the statistical population of the study that consisted of all individuals with major depression disorder, 30 individuals were randomly selected and placed in two groups (experimental and control). The experimental group individually received an intervention with a trend based on quality of life improvement for 10 sessions. The control group received no such treatment. Beck’s Depression Inventory and Oxford Happiness Questionnaire were used in two occasions of pretest and posttest. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of covariance. Results: The results revealed that quality of life therapy reduced depression and increased happiness among the subjects on the posttest (p < 0.01). Conclusion: This research found two important results. First, it was revealed that quality of life therapy had high efficiency in treating depression considered as a resistant disorder to treatment. Second, it was indicated that focus on happiness in the treatment of major depression disorder can significantly help?patients recover. 展开更多

Perceived happiness level is likely associated with health and well-being. However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying the positive effects of happiness on psychological and physiological wellness remain obscure. In this study, we found that the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) was strongly activated and positive emotions were strongly evoked in individuals with high perceived happiness levels compared to those with low perceived happiness levels when either looked at a favorite person. Moreover, positive mood changes were positively correlated with MPFC activity. These results show that perceived happiness level is associated with positive emotion evocation by means of the MPFC function, which may be involved in psychological and physiological wellness. Therefore, happiness may play an important role in psychological and physiological wellness. 展开更多

The aim of this study was to develop a method for predicting the psychological states of spectators watching professional baseball games at a stadium. This method includes a real time measurement of instantaneous heart rate (i.e., the inverse of the RR interval) without preventing the subject from watching the game and a mathematical procedure used to predict moment by moment psychological states by correlating the degree of a psychological state with the strength of heart rate response, defined as the mean deviation of heart rate variability from a linear regression line from 5 sec before to 25 sec after an event during a baseball game. We recorded the instantaneous heart rates of 10 subjects (total of 27 cases) while they watched Japanese professional baseball games at a stadium and had them subjectively rate the degree of their psychological states in an after-event interview. We identified three psychological states (happiness, excitement, and vigor) whose strength can be predicted from the strength of heart rate response. Analysis of the measured data clarified that heart rate response had a significant correlation with the subjective rating of the intensity of happiness (r = 0.56, p < 0.0001), vigor (r = 0.55, p < 0.0001), and excitement (r = 0.49, p < 0.0001). 展开更多
