A Study on the Contribution of Vocational Education and Training to the Industrial Development in China

Vocational education and training are an important part of China’s national education system.The two essential characteristics of employment orientation and social service determine that vocational education has a closer connection with social production than other types of education.At present,China’s economic development is in a new stage of transformation and upgrading.The new normal of the economy will inevitably require a corresponding new normal of vocational education and training.The transformation of social needs will eventually lead to changes in the composition of the workforce.Vocational education and training should be aligned with the characteristics of the new normal economy.Using mixed research methods,this study focuses on vocational education and training and explores how it contributes to industrial development in China.

Strategies for Prioritizing Ecological Construction with Consideration of Agricultural Industry Development in Northern China’s Agro- pastoral Ecotone : A Perspective of Opportunity Cost

In northern China’s agro-pastoral ecotone,there are conflicts between agricultural industry and ecological construction resource competition,and also problems urgently to be solved for economic growth and sustainable ecological improvement.Taking the development concept of"lucid waters and lush mountains being mountains of gold and silver"as the guiding principle of prioritizing ecological and green development,this paper studied the strategies for prioritizing ecological construction with consideration of economic development of agricultural industry from the perspective of opportunity cost.Through the analysis of opportunity cost,externality,and Pareto optimal theory,and using the calculation method of the unit equivalent factor value of terrestrial ecological service function,this paper calculated the ecological service value of forest,grassland,and farmland.It found that the ecological value of forest and grassland per unit area was greater than the ecological value of agricultural industry.This indicates that the opportunity cost of farmland for ecological construction was less than that of agricultural industry.Based on the theoretical and quantitative analysis,it came up with recommendations for establishing a comprehensive system for prioritizing ecological construction with consideration of agricultural industry development and establishing and improving the incentive mechanism of ecological construction.

Development of welding technique in architectural and construction industry in China

This paper presents the achievements in welding technique for the large industrial buildings and structures in China, including the welding of furnaces,kilns,pots,tanks and pipes, the welding of steel construction of industrial building,high-storied building, gymnasium and steel construction of highway bridge. It mainly cites the new efficient and high-quality processes, equipments and materials used in fabricating typical up-to-date construction projects. The paper discusses the prospects for the technical development in welding materials, process and equipments as per usual requirements of architectural and construction industries.

Further Development of NdFeB Magnet Industry in China

Due to continued growth in key markets a broadening of application base and performance improvements, the market demands of NdFeB magnet increased steadily in 1998, and the global output of sintered NdFeB magnet exceeded 10,000 t, in spite of the economic recession in Asia. In 1998 China produced 3,850 t sintered NdFeB block magnet, with an annual growth rate of +22% over the output in 1997.

Status and Development of Foundry Industry in Liaoning Province of China

1 General situation The Liaoning province is famous for the machine building industry and the iron-steel industry in China. The foundry industry also has fully been developed in Liaoning. There are about 3 000 foundries and (1.1-1.2) ×105 employees in Liaoning’s foundry industry and the total yield of castings is 2.4 million tons. Foundry plants mainly concentrate in Dalian, Shenyang, Dandong, Anshan, Chaoyang, Fushun, Benxi and other places. The industry enterprises of Liaoning take state-run system as main body. In the process of converting from the plan economy to the market economy, a lot of contradiction has been appearing continuously, which makes the structure of enterprises to occur great changes, at the same time the product’s structure is renewed quickly, and the mode of the foundry production and the types of the castings have also been adjusting. For the foundry enterprises, it will be a huge challenges to face the rigorous situation of sudden change in market. Since the reform and opening in China more than 20 years ago, great changes have occurred in Liaoning’s foundry industry whether in the yield and varieties of castings or production processes, equipment level, people’s quality consciousness and manage character aspect. The foundry industry has entered into a period of very good development and has been recongnized by more and more customers.
