Although long-distance driving of VIPV-EV without electricity charging is expected in sunny regions, driving distance of VIPV-EV is affected by climate conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature rise of PV modules. In this paper, detailed analytical results for effects of climate conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature rise of PV modules upon driving distance of the VIPV-EV were presented by using test data for Toyota Prius and Nissan Van demonstration cars installed with high-efficiency InGaP/GaAs/InGaAs 3-junction solar cell modules with a module efficiency of more than 30%. The temperature rise of some PV modules studied in this study was shown to be expressed by some coefficients related to solar irradiation, wind speed and radiative cooling. The potential of VIPV-EV to be deployed in 10 major cities was also analyzed. Although sunshine cities such as Phoenix show the high reduction ratio of driving range with 17% due to temperature rise of VIPV modules, populous cities such as Tokyo show low reduction ratio of 9%. It was also shown in this paper that the difference between the driving distance of VIPV-EV driving in the morning and the afternoon is due to PV modules’ radiative cooling. In addition, the importance of heat dissipation of PV modules and the development of high-efficiency PV modules with better temperature coefficients was suggested in order to expand driving range of VIPV-EV. The effects of air-conditioner usage and partial shading in addition to the effects of temperature rise of VIPV modules were suggested as the other power losses of VIPV-EV.展开更多

A robust nonlinear controller is developed by using integral-terminal sliding mode control(ITSMC), which can exponentially drive an UUV onto a predefined path at a constant forward speed. The kinematic error equations are first derived in the Serret-Frenet frame. Using the line of sight(LOS) method, Lyapunov's direct technique and tracking differentiator, the guidance law is established. Then, the kinematic controller, the guidance law, is expanded to cope with vehicle dynamics by resorting to introduce two integral-terminal sliding surfaces. Robustness to parameter perturbation is addressed by incorporating the reaching laws associated with the upper bound of the parameter perturbation. The proposed control law can guarantee that all error signals globally exponentially converge to the origin. Finally, a series of numerical simulation results are presented and discussed. In these simulations, wave, constant unknown ocean currents(for the purposes of the controller) and the parameter perturbation are added to illustrate the robustness and effectiveness of the bottom-following control scheme.展开更多

The TDM control strategy is established under the circumstance of vehicle-infrastructure integration(VII). The algorithm is given to forecast the segmented BRT travel time. According to the real time traffic information,a comprehensive model is given to estimate the vehicles' lane-changing time from/to the BRTlane to/from its neighbor lane and determine the timing sequence for vehicles collaboration. Finally, the experiment demonstrates that the predicted value of the travel time and lane-changing time is much close to the true value. Virtual technology is widely utilized in various vehicle test-beds. These test-beds are mainly used to simulate the driving training, conduct the research on drivers' behaviors, or give virtual demonstrations of the transportation environment. However, the study on the active safety of the running vehicle in the virtual environment is still insufficient. A virtual scene including roads and vehicles is developed by using the software Creator and Vega, and radars and cameras are also simulated in the scene. Based on dSPACE's rapid prototyping simulation and its single board DS1103, a simulation model including vehicle control signals is set up in MATLAB/Simulink, the model is then built into C code, and the system defined file(SDF) is downloaded to the DS1103 board through the experiment debug software ControlDesk and is kept running. Programming is made by mixing Visual C++ 6.0, MATLAB API and Vega API. Control signals are read out by invoking library function MLIB/MTRACE of dSPACE. All the input, output, and system state values are acquired by arithmetic and are dynamically associated with the running status of the virtual vehicle. An intelligent vehicle experiment system is thus developed by virtue of program and integration. The system has not only the demonstration function, such as general driving, cruise control, active avoiding collision, but also the function of virtual experiment. Parameters of the system can be set according to needs, and the virtual test results can be analyzed and studied and used for the comparison with the existing models. The system reflects the running of the intelligent vehicle in the virtual traffic environment, at the same time, the system is a new attempt performed on the intelligent vehicle travel research and provides also a new research method for the development of intelligent vehicles.展开更多

文摘Purpose–The safety and reliability of high-speed trains rely on the structural integrity of their components and the dynamic performance of the entire vehicle system. This paper aims to define and substantiate the assessment of the structural integrity and dynamical integrity of high-speed trains in both theory and practice. The key principles and approacheswill be proposed, and their applications to high-speed trains in Chinawill be presented.Design/methodology/approach–First,the structural integrity and dynamical integrity of high-speed trains are defined, and their relationship is introduced. Then, the principles for assessing the structural integrity of structural and dynamical components are presented and practical examples of gearboxes and dampers are provided. Finally, the principles and approaches for assessing the dynamical integrity of highspeed trains are presented and a novel operational assessment method is further presented.Findings–Vehicle system dynamics is the core of the proposed framework that provides the loads and vibrations on train components and the dynamic performance of the entire vehicle system. For assessing the structural integrity of structural components,an open-loop analysis considering both normal and abnormal vehicle conditions is needed. For assessing the structural integrity of dynamical components,a closed-loop analysis involving the influence of wear and degradation on vehicle system dynamics is needed. The analysis of vehicle system dynamics should follow the principles of complete objects, conditions and indices.Numerical, experimental and operational approaches should be combined to achieve effective assessments.Originality/value–The practical applications demonstrate that assessing the structural integrity and dynamical integrity of high-speed trains can support better control of critical defects, better lifespan management of train components and better maintenance decision-making for high-speed trains.

文摘The bottom-following problem of an underactuated unmanned undersea vehicle(UUV) is addressed. In these simulations, wave, constant unknown ocean currents(for the purposes of the controller) and the parameter perturbation are added to illustrate the robustness and effectiveness of the bottom-following control scheme.

文摘In order to increase the availability of the part-time idle bus rapid transit lane(BRT-lane),a time division multiplexing(TDM) method to share BRT-lane with the vehicles besides BRT buses is proposed based on vehicle-road collaboration. The control strategy of the vehicles collaboration could promise the non-BRT vehicles to share BRT-lane without disturbing BRT's priority.

文摘Existing vehicle experiment systems tend to focus on the research of vehicle dynamics by conducting performance tests on every system or some parts of the vehicle so as to improve the entire performance of the vehicle. The system reflects the running of the intelligent vehicle in the virtual traffic environment, at the same time, the system is a new attempt performed on the intelligent vehicle travel research and provides also a new research method for the development of intelligent vehicles.
