However, the enthalpies of most TRFsare not high, and the preparation methods are still at the laboratory scale. It remains a great challenge to use industrial spinning equipment to achieve continuous processing of TRF_(s) with excellent thermal and mechanical properties. In this paper, using two early-maturing cotton varieties as experimental materials, night temperature increase was stimulated in the field using far-infrared quartz tubes set in semi-mobile incubators and compared with the normal night temperatures (control) in order to investigate the effects of night temperature on the cotton fiber cellulose synthesis during secondary wall thickening. The results showed that the activity of sucrose synthase (SuSy) and sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) quickly increased and remained constant during the development of cotton fiber, while the activity of acid invertase (AI) and alkaline invertase (NI) decreased, increased night temperatures prompted the rapid transformation of sugar, and all the available sucrose fully converted into cellulose. With night temperature increasing treatment, an increase in SuSy activity and concentration of sucrose indicate more sucrose converted into UDPG (uridin diphosphate-glucose) during the early and late stages of cotton fiber development. Furthermore, SPS activity and the increased concentration of fructose accelerated fructose degradation and reduced the inhibition of fructose to SuSy; maintaining higher value of allocation proportion of invertase and sucrose during the early development stages of cotton fiber, which was propitious to supply a greater carbon source and energy for cellulose synthesis. Therefore, the minimum temperature in the nightime was a major factor correlated with the activity of sucrose metabolism enzymes in cotton fiber. Consequently, soluble sugar transformation and cellulose accumulation were closely associated with the minimum night temperature.展开更多

Optical sensing technology displays excellent performance in these fields for monitoring. In this paper, temperature and residual strain during fatigue of a carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) are investigated. Four autoclaved CFRP beam specimens, with fiber Bragg grating(FBG) sensors and thermocouples embedded at selected locations, are subjected to three-point bending cyclic loading on the BOSE testing machine for fatigue testing. Thennocouples are used to measure the temperature while FBGs can sense the temperature and strain as well. Seven tests in total are conducted at different frequencies, and each test lasts for several days. From the experimental results, transient steep peaks of temperature increases (up to 2.3℃) are discovered at the beginning of the load. The following constant temperature increments are around 1.0℃, which is not relevant to frequencies from 0.1 Hz to 20 Hz and suspected due to fatigue. Residual strains of 1×10^-5-2×10^-5 during fatigue, fading away rapidly when unloading, are also reported. Embedded FBGs here are validated to sense temperature and strains in composite structures, which demonstrates promising potentials in structure monitoring fields. CFRP are verified to have an excellent performance during fatigue with low temperature increase and residual strain.展开更多

The background theory of fluorescence intensity-ratio method was presented simply. And the characters of rare earth doped samples were detailed. The erbium-doped fiber was chosen as the sensing element. The energy levels of 2H11/2 and 4S3/2 are responsible for the emission of radiation at approximately 530 and 555 nm. The erbium-doped (960 ppm) fiber of length 20 cm and core diameter 3.2μm was used as the sensing part. A silica photodiode transfers the fluorescence signal to electric signal, then the ratio of the average of the two different signals was calculated by the computer and the temperature was obtained. The ratio R of the intensity resulting from the transition between the two levels varies proportionly with temperature interval from 293 K to 373 K. The sensitivity of the sensor is approximately 0.05 K-1.展开更多

The work described in this paper aims to extend an initial previous analysis concerning planar optical waveguides, light energy loss, to circular optical waveguides. The paper also presents à novel intrinsic fiber optic sensing device base on this study allowing to measure temperatures parameters. The simulation results are validated theoretically in the case of silica/silicone optical fiber. A comparison is done between results obtained with an optical fiber and the results obtained from the previous curved optical planar waveguide study. It is showed that the bending losses and the temperature measurement range depend on the curvature radius of an optical fiber or waveguide and the kind of the optical waveguide on which the sensing process is implemented.展开更多

The effects of coagulation bath temperature (CBT) on the structure and performance of membranes were investigated in detail. The morphologies of the membranes were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the performances of water permeability, rejection, breaking strength and elongation were measured, respectively. The results indicate that all the membranes have the asymmetric morphology and the thickness of the skin layer decreases and the pore size of the outer layer increases with the increase of CBT. The permeability of membranes prepared at air gap 1.0 cm and take-up speed 0.253 m/s increases from 1.047×10-7 to 5.909×10-7 m3/(m2·s-kPa) with the CBT increasing from 20 ℃ to 40℃, and sharply increases to 35.226×10 7 m3/(m2.s.kPa)once the CBT arrives at 50 ℃. While the carbonic ink rejections have no significant decrease, totally exceed 98%, but that of acid-maleic acid copolymer greatly decreases with the increase of CBT. Both the breaking strength and elongation decrease with the increase of CBT.展开更多

Through the long-term monitoring on running state, the status of the aluminum reduction cell, including security and fatigue life could be acquired and estimated exactly. The obtained results provide the foundation for the production status monitoring and fault diagnosis. Long-term test results show good stability and repeatability which are compatible with electrolysis process.

文摘The aim of this study is to improve the bond performance of basalt fiber reinforced polymer(BFRP)bars and recycled aggregate concrete(RAC)after being exposed to high temperatures. The bond behavior(failure modes, bond strength, bond stress-slip curves)between BFRP bars and hybrid fiber recycled aggregate concrete(HFRAC)after being exposed to temperatures ranging from 20℃up to 500℃was studied by using pull-out tests. The effect of high temperatures on mechanical properties of concrete(compressive strength, splitting tensile strength)and tensile strength of BFRP bars was also investigated. The bond strength decreased as the temperature increased and the drop of bond strength between RAC and BFRP bar was larger than that between HFRAC and BFRP bar.As the temperature rises, the key factor affecting the bond strength was gradually transformed from concrete strength to BFRP bar strength. The relationship between bond stress and slip in the dimensionless bond stress-slip ascending section was established, which was in good agreement with the experimental results.
文摘A new and practical fluorescence temperature detecting system based on fluorescence intensity ratio was proposed . The sensitivity of the sensor is approximately 0.05 K-1.

文摘A novel temperature and salinity discriminative sensing method based on forward Brillouin scattering(FBS)in 1060-XP single-mode fiber(SMF)is proposed. The measured frequency shifts corresponding to different radial acoustic modes in 1060-XP SMF show different sensitivities to temperature and salinity.Based on the new phenomenon that different radial acoustic modes have different frequency shift-temperature and frequency shift-salinity coefficients,we propose a novel method for simultaneously measuring temperature and salinity by measuring the frequency shift changes of two FBS scattering peaks. In a proof-of-concept experiment, the temperature and salinity measurement errors are 0.12℃and 0.29%,respectively.The proposed method for simultaneously measuring temperature and salinity has the potential applications such as ocean surveying, food manufacturing and pharmaceutical engineering.
文摘The temperature dependence of the bending loss light energy in multimode optical fibers is reported and analyzed. It is showed that the bending losses and the temperature measurement range depend on the curvature radius of an optical fiber or waveguide and the kind of the optical waveguide on which the sensing process is implemented.

文摘A temperature sensor is demonstrated and fabricated by coating the single-mode tapered optical fiber with temperature-sensitive silicone rubber. It works on the change of the evanescent fields in the tapered optical fiber. Small changes in the refractive index of coating film greatly influence the power of evanescent fields, which modulate the transmission optical power in the waist region. The range of temperature measured is from -20℃ to 70 ℃. The results show that the temperature sensor has high temperature sensitivity (0.012 mW/℃) and good repeatability.

文摘A regrown composite fiber was synthesized during the sintering of diamond under high pressure 5.8 GPa and high temperature 1500℃for 1 min, using 3wt%MWCNTs as additive.SEM observation of the fiber after alkali and acid treatment revealed that the outer layer of the fiber is composed of nano-polycrystalline diamond.EDS,XPS,XRD and Raman spectrum analysis further identified that the fiber is composed of MWCNTs in the inner part and nano-polycrystalline diamond in the out layer. It is proposed that the untransformed MWCNTs may act as a template for the regrown outer layer of nano diamond fiber under high pressure and high temperature.

文摘Poly (vinyl butyral) (PVB) hollow fiber membranes were fabricated via thermally induced phase separation (TIPS). Both the breaking strength and elongation decrease with the increase of CBT.

文摘An active temperature compensated fiber Bragg grating(FBG)vibration sensor with a constant section cantilever beam is proposed for the simultaneous measurement of temperature and vibration, and the sensor is verified by a temperature compensation feedback system. The high-temperature vibration sensor is composed of a quartz cantilever beam and a femtosecond Bragg grating. The feedback control demodulation system of active temperature compensation can adjust the laser wavelength to stabilize the grating offset point and realize simultaneous measurement of temperature and vibration. On this basis, the performance of the sensor is tested and analyzed within the range of 20-400℃by setting up a high-temperature vibration test system. The experimental results show that the sensitivity of the sensor is about 132.33 mV/g,and the nonlinearity is about 3.33%.The sensitivity between the laser wavelength and temperature is about 0.01307 nm/℃.In addition, the active temperature compensated fiber Bragg grating vibration sensor has the advantages of a simple structure, stable performance, easy demodulation and high sensitivity. Moreover, the sensor can achieve high temperature vibration signal monitoring and has good practical application value.
