Three-phase NaCl-H_2O fluid inclusions featuring halite dissolution temperature(Tm)higher than vapor bubble disappearance temperature(T_h) are commonly observed in porphyry copper/molybdenum deposits,skarn-type de...Three-phase NaCl-H_2O fluid inclusions featuring halite dissolution temperature(Tm)higher than vapor bubble disappearance temperature(T_h) are commonly observed in porphyry copper/molybdenum deposits,skarn-type deposits and other magmatic- hydrothermal ore deposits.Based on |ΔV_1|(the absolute value of volume variation of NaCl-H_2O solution in a heating or cooling process of inclusions)= |ΔV_s|(the absolute value of volume variation of the halite crystal in a heating or cooling process of inclusions) and on the principle of conservation of the mass of NaCl and H_2O,we systematically calculated the densities of NaCl-H_2O solutions in the solid-liquid two-phase field for temperatures(T_h) from 0.1℃ to 800℃ and salinities from 26.3 wt%to 99.2wt%.Consequently for the first time we obtained the upper limit of the density of NaCI-H_2O solutions in the solid-liquid twophase field for T_b〈T_m inclusions with variant salinities.The results indicate that for inclusions of the T_h〈T_m type with the same T_h,the higher the T_m or salinity is,the higher the density of the NaClsaturated solution will be.If a group of fluid inclusions were homogeneously trapped,they must have the same T_h value and the same T_m or salinity value.This may be used to distinguish homogeneous,inhomogeneous,and multiple entrapments of fluid inclusions.展开更多

Results showe...A genetic cross between Oryza isolate Y93-164a-1 and Eleusine isolate SA98-4 was established, and the pathogenicity of 151 F1 progeny isolates was investigated on both host plants rice and finger millet. Results showed that the segregation of pathogenicity in this genetic cross was abnormal, i.e., most of the progeny isolates were nonpathogenic on both host plants. However, no abnormal segregation was observed when middle repetitive sequence MGR586 and 31 single-copy RFLP markers from all of the chromosomes were genetically analyzed. At the same time, comparison of the chromosomal organization among two pairs of parental isolates did not find any genomic abnormity. These results suggested that the "abnormal" inheritance of pathogenicity in this cross was most likely due to the reassortment of numerous host species specificity genes but not the biased segregation of the host species specificity genes. The host species specificities in M. grisea were likely to be multigenically controlled, at least in the genetic cross involving rice pathogen and the grasses pathogen other than rice.展开更多

We report the observation of electric field induced random lasing in a dye doped liquid crystal system. This was achieved by using a liquid crystal host with negative dielectric anisotropy doped with laser dye PM 597 ...We report the observation of electric field induced random lasing in a dye doped liquid crystal system. This was achieved by using a liquid crystal host with negative dielectric anisotropy doped with laser dye PM 597 in a 75 μm cell with a homeotropic alignment layer. In the absence of an applied field, only amplified spontaneous emission was observed since the liquid crystal orientation was uniform. However, application of a field resulted in a fieldinduced planar-like configuration with local nonuniformity in liquid crystal orientation. This led to random lasing in the energized state(voltage greater than a transition threshold). The onset of lasing occurs by application of either a spatially homogenous or a spatially inhomogeneous electric field across the liquid crystal. The characteristics of the emission spectra as a function of different(i) dye concentration and(ii) applied voltage were investigated using nanosecond pulsed laser excitation at 532 nm. The effects of using an inhomogeneous field were compared to the use of a homogenous field and reported. It is shown that the spatial configuration can be used to alter the emission spectra of the system. The work is used to suggest a new configuration, referred to here as"reverse mode," for liquid crystal-based random lasers. This new configuration may provide additional avenues for their use in commercial devices.展开更多
Purpose As the key component for the Higgs operating mode of Circular Electron-Positron Collider(CEPC),the electrostatic-magnetic deflectors are required by the double ring collider to separate the electron and the po...Purpose As the key component for the Higgs operating mode of Circular Electron-Positron Collider(CEPC),the electrostatic-magnetic deflectors are required by the double ring collider to separate the electron and the positron beams horizontally in the RF regions.The electric field is required to reach 2 MV/m with the vacuum pressure of less than 2×10^(−10) Torr.The deflectors make use of both electric and magnetic fields to deflect the beams.The incoming beam gets zero deflection,but the outgoing beam is deflected by the combined effect of the electric and magnetic forces.W and Z modes use the same cavities with H mode to save budget.The deflectors are large contributors to the overall beam impedance which is necessary to be reduced as much as possible.Methods The electric and magnetic field optimization has been performed by the Opera.The beam impedance study has been carried out using the Computer Simulation Technology(CST)particle studio.Results The shape of the electrode is optimized for a good electric field homogeneity(±0.05%)in 46 mm×40 mm region.The electric field and the magnetic field could be matched perfectly in the main body of the deflector by bending the elec-trodes and introducing magnetic field clamps and mirror plates.The beam loss factor decreases by about 20%via the intro-duction of ground electrodes and tapering ends.Conclusions The design results successfully meet the physical requirements,and the mechanical design has been finished.展开更多
