Therefore, it is of great significance to study the propagation characteristics of borehole acoustic waves in fluid-saturated porous media under stress.Based on the acoustoelastic theory of fluid-saturated porous media, the field equation of fluid-saturated porous media under the conditions of confining pressure and pore pressure and the acoustic field formula of multipole source excitation in open hole are given. The influences of pore pressure and confining pressure on guided waves of multipole borehole acoustic field in fluid-saturated porous media are investigated. The numerical results show that the phase velocity and excitation intensity of guided wave increase significantly under the confining pressure. For a given confining pressure, the phase velocity of the guided wave decreases with pore pressure increasing. The excitation intensity of guided wave increases at low frequency and then decreases at high frequency with pore pressure increasing, except for that of Stoneley wave which decreases in the whole frequency range. These results will help us get an insight into the influences of confining pressure and pore pressure on the acoustic field of multipole source in borehole around fluid-saturated porous media.展开更多

In this work, we discuss the instability of THz plasma waves in the channel of FETs with spin and quantum effects under non-ideal boundary conditions. We obtain a linear dispersion relation by using the hydrodynamic equation, Maxwell equation and spin equation. The influence of source capacitance, drain capacitance, spin effects, quantum effects and channel width on the instability of THz plasma waves under the non-ideal boundary conditions is investigated in great detail. The results of numerical simulation show that the THz plasma wave is unstable when the drain capacitance is smaller than the source capacitance;the oscillation frequency with asymmetric boundary conditions is smaller than that under non-ideal boundary conditions;the instability gain of THz plasma waves becomes lower under non-ideal boundary conditions. This finding provides a new idea for finding efficient THz radiation sources and opens up a new mechanism for the development of THz technology.展开更多

文摘Based on 16 years of magnetic field observations from CHAMP and Swarm satellites, this study investigates the influence of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field(IMF)Bx component on the location and peak current density of the polar electrojets(PEJs).We find that the IMF Bx displays obvious local time, seasonal, and hemispherical effects on the PEJs,as follows:(1)Compared to other local times, its influence is weakest at dawn and dusk.(2)In the midnight sectors of both hemispheres, the IMF Bx tends to amplify the westward PEJ when it is<0 in the Northern Hemisphere and when it is>0 in the Southern Hemisphere;this effect is relatively stronger in the local winter hemisphere.(3)At noontime, the IMF Bx intensifies the eastward current when it is<0 in the Northern Hemisphere;in the Southern Hemisphere when it is>0,it reduces the westward current;this effect is notably more prominent in the local summer hemisphere.(4)Moreover,the noontime eastward current shifts towards higher latitudes, while the midnight westward current migrates towards lower latitudes when IMF Bx is<0 in the Northern Hemisphere and when it is>0 in the Southern Hemisphere.

文摘Relative rotation between the emitter and receiver could effectively modulate the near-field radiative heat transfer(NFRHT)in anisotropic media.Due to the strong in-plane anisotropy, natural hyperbolic materials can be used to construct near-field radiative modulators with excellent modulation effects. However,in practical applications, natural hyperbolic materials need to be deposited on the substrate, and the influence of substrate on modulation effect has not been studied yet.In this work,we investigate the influence of substrate effect on near-field radiative modulator based onα-MoO_(3).The results show that compared to the situation without a substrate, the presence of both lossless and lossy substrate will reduce the modulation contrast(MC)for different film thicknesses. When the real or imaginary component of the substrate permittivity increases, the mismatch of hyperbolic phonon polaritons(HPPs)weakens, resulting in a reduction in MC.By reducing the real and imaginary components of substrate permittivity, the MC can be significantly improved, reaching 4.64 forε_(s)=3 at t=10 nm.This work indicates that choosing a substrate with a smaller permittivity helps to achieve a better modulation effect, and provides guidance for the application of natural hyperbolic materials in the near-field radiative modulator.

文摘Recently, the newly synthesized septuple-atomic layer two-dimensional(2D)material MoSi_(2)N_(4)(MSN)has attracted attention worldwide. Our work delves into the effect of vacancies and external electric fields on the electronic properties of the MSN/graphene(Gr)heterostructure using first-principles calculation. We find that four types of defective structures,N-in,N-out,Si and Mo vacancy defects of monolayer MSN and MSN/Gr heterostructure are stable in air. Moreover, vacancy defects can effectively modulate the charge transfer at the interface of the MSN/Gr heterostructure as well as the work function of the pristine monolayer MSN and MSN/Gr heterostructure. Finally, the application of an external electric field enables the dynamic switching between n-type and p-type Schottky contacts. Our work may offer the possibility of exceeding the capabilities of conventional Schottky diodes based on MSN/Gr heterostructures.

文摘Although 9.4 T magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) has been tested in healthy volunteers, its safety in diabetic patients is unclear.Furthermore, the effects of high static magnetic fields(SMFs),especially gradient vs.uniform fields, have not been investigated in diabetics. Here,we investigated the consequences of exposure to 1.0-9.4 T high SMFs of different gradients(>10 T/m vs.0-10 T/m)on type 1 diabetic(T1D) and type 2 diabetic(T2D) mice.We found that 14 h of prolonged treatment of gradient(as high as 55.5 T/m) high SMFs(1.0-8.6 T) had negative effects on T1D and T2D mice, including spleen, hepatic, and renal tissue impairment and elevated glycosylated serum protein, blood glucose, inflammation, and anxiety, while 9.4 T quasi-uniform SMFs at 0-10 T/m did not induce the same effects. In regular T1D mice(blood glucose>16.7 mmol/L),the>10 T/m gradient high SMFs increased malondialdehyde(P<0.01) and decreased superoxide dismutase(P<0.05).However,in the severe T1D mice(blood glucose≥30.0 mmol/L),the>10 T/m gradient high SMFs significantly increased tissue damage and reduced survival rate.In vitro cellular studies showed that gradient high SMFs increased cellular reactive oxygen species and apoptosis and reduced MS-1 cell number and proliferation. Therefore, this study showed that prolonged exposure to high-field(1.0-8.6 T)>10 T/m gradient SMFs(35-1 380 times higher than that of current clinical MRI)can have negative effects on diabetic mice, especially mice with severe T1D,whereas 9.4 T high SMFs at 0-10T/m did not produce the same effects, providing important information for the future development and clinical application of SMFs,especially high-field MRI.
文摘Sodium-alginate(SA)based nanofluids represent a new generation of fluids with improved performances in terms of heat transfer. This work examines the influence of the nanoparticle shape on a non–Newtonian viscoplastic Cu–nanofluid pertaining to this category. In particular,a stretching/shrinking sheet subjected to a transverse magnetic field is considered. The proposed Cu–nanofluid consists of four different nanoparticles having different shapes, namely bricks, cylinders, platelets, and blades dispersed in a mixture of sodium alginate with Prandtl number Pr=6.45.Suitable similarity transformations are employed to reduce non–linear PDEs into a system of ODEs and these equations and related boundary conditions are solved numerically by means of a Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg(RKF)method. Moreover, analytical solutions are obtained through the application of a MAPLE built–in differential equation solver(Dsolve). The behavior of prominent parameters against velocity and temperature is analyzed. It is found that the temperature increases for all shapes of nanoparticles with the viscoplastic parameter and the Eckert number.
文摘The mechanism of magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs)affecting magnetic field uniformity is studied in this work. The spatial distribution of MNPs in liquid is simulated based on Monte Carlo method. The induced field of the single MNP is combined with the magnetic field distribution of magnetofluid. In the simulation, magnetic field uniformity is described by a statistical distribution. As the chemical shift(CS)and full width at half maximum(FWHM)of magnetic resonance(MR)spectrum can reflect the uniformity of magnetic field, the simulation is verified by spectrum experiment.Simulation and measurement results prove that the CS and FWHM of the MR spectrum are basically positively correlated with the concentration of MNPs and negatively correlated with the temperature. The research results can explain how MNPs play a role in MR by affecting the uniform magnetic field, which is of great significance in improving the temperature measurement accuracy of magnetic nanothermometers and the spatial resolution of magnetic particle imaging.

文摘Exposing waxy oils to an electric field may significantly improve their cold flowability. Our previous study has shown that interfacial polarization,i.e.,charged particle accumulation on the wax particle surface,is the primary mechanism of the electrorheological behavior of waxy oils. However, the way that charged particles interact with wax particles under an electric field remains unknown. In this study,we found no viscosity and impedance change for two waxy crude oils after their exposure to a high-voltage electric field. However, the yield stresses were reduced obviously. We thus proposed that the collision of colloidal particles such as resins and asphaltenes with the wax particles could be an essential mechanism that the wax particle structure was weakened. To verify this hypothesis,a series of ad hoc experiments were carried out,i.e.,by performing electrorheological tests on model waxy oils containing additives removable under an electric field, including electrically-neutral colloidal particles(Fe3O4),charged colloidal particles(resins),and oil-soluble electrolyte(C22H14CoO4),respectively,and demonstrated that upon application of a high-voltage electric field, charged particles in a waxy oil may move and thus collide with wax particles, and consequently adhere to the wax particle surface. The particle collision results in damage to the wax particle network, and the electrostatic repulsion arising from the adhesion of the charged particle on the wax particle diminishes attraction between wax particles. This study clarifies the process of interfacial polarization.

文摘In the field of ultrafast magnetism,i.e.,subpicosecond or femtosecond time scales, the dynamics of magnetization can be described by the inertial Landau-Lifhitz-Gilbert equation. In terms of this equation, the intrinsic characteristics are investigated in detail for the theoretical limit of the magnetization reversal field. We can find that there is a critical value for the inertia parameterτ_(c),which is affected by the damping and anisotropy parameter of the system. When the inertial parameter factorτ<τ_(c),the limit value of the magnetization reversal field under the ultrafast magnetic mechanism is smaller than that of the fast magnetic mechanism.Whenτ>τ_(c),the limit value of the magnetization reversal field will be larger than the limit value under the fast magnetic mechanism. Moreover,it is important to point out that the limit value of the magnetization reversal field under the ultrafast magnetic mechanism decreases with the increasing inertial factor,asτ<τ_(c)/2,which increases with inertial factorτasτ>τ_(c)/2.Finally,with the joint action of damping and anisotropy, compared with fast magnetism,we find that the limit value of the magnetization reversal field has rich variation characteristics,i.e.,there is not only a linear and proportional relationship, but also an inverse relationship, which is very significant for the study of ultrafast magnetism.

文摘A vertical GaN field-effect transistor with an integrated self-adapted channel diode(CD-FET)is proposed to improve the reverse conduction performance. It features a channel diode(CD)formed between a trench source on the insulator and a P-type barrier layer(PBL),together with a P-shield layer under the trench gate.At forward conduction, the CD is pinched off due to depletion effects caused by both the PBL and the metal-insulator-semiconductor structure from the trench source, without influencing the on-state characteristic of the CD-FET.At reverse conduction, the depletion region narrows and thus the CD turns on to achieve a very low turn-on voltage(V_(F)),preventing the inherent body diode from turning on.Meanwhile, the PBL and P-shield layer can modulate the electric field distribution to improve the off-state breakdown voltage(BV).Moreover, the P-shield not only shields the gate from a high electric field but also transforms part of C_(GD)to CGS so as to significantly reduce the gate charge(Q_(GD)),leading to a low switching loss(E_(switch)).Consequently,the proposed CD-FET achieves a low V_(F)of 1.65 V and a high BV of 1446 V,and V_(F),Q_(GD)and E_(switch)of the CD-FET are decreased by 49%,55%and 80%,respectively,compared with those of a conventional metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor(MOSFET).
文摘A dielectric modulation strategy for gate oxide material that enhances the sensing performance of biosensors in junction-less vertical tunnel field effect transistors(TFETs)is reported. The junction-less technique,in which metals with specific work functions are deposited on the source region to modulate the channel conductivity,is used to provide the necessary doping for the proper functioning of the device.TCAD simulation studies of the proposed structure and junction structure have been compared, and showed an enhanced rectification of 10^(4) times. The proposed structure is designed to have a nanocavity of length 10 nm on the left-and right-hand sides of the fixed gate dielectric, which improves the biosensor capture area, and hence the sensitivity.By considering neutral and charged biomolecules with different dielectric constants,TCAD simulation studies were compared for their sensitivities. The off-state current IOFFcan be used as a suitable sensing parameter because it has been observed that the proposed sensor exhibits a significant variation in drain current.Additionally,it has been investigated how positively and negatively charged biomolecules affect the drain current and threshold voltage. To explore the device performance when the nanogaps are fully filled, half filled and unevenly filled, extensive TCAD simulations have been run.The proposed TFET structure is further benchmarked to other structures to show its better sensing capabilities.

文摘Nanowires with gate-all-around(GAA) structures are widely considered as the most promising candidate for 3-nm technology with the best ability of suppressing the short channel effects, and tunneling field effect transistors(TFETs)based on GAA structures also present improved performance. In this paper,a non-quasi-static(NQS) device model is developed for nanowire GAA TFETs.The model can predict the transient current and capacitance varying with operation frequency, which is beyond the ability of the quasi-static(QS) model published before.Excellent agreements between the model results and numerical simulations are obtained. Moreover, the NQS model is derived from the published QS model including the current-voltage(I-V) and capacitance-voltage(C-V) characteristics. Therefore, the NQS model is compatible with the QS model for giving comprehensive understanding of GAA TFETs and would be helpful for further study of TFET circuits based on nanowire GAA structure.
文摘The fundamental advantages of carbon-based graphene material, such as its high tunnelling probability, symmetric band structure(linear dependence of the energy band on the wave direction),low effective mass, and characteristics of its 2D atomic layers, are the main focus of this research work. The impact of channel thickness, gate under-lap,asymmetric source/drain doping method, workfunction of gate contact, and High-K material on Graphene-based Tunnel Field Effect Transistor(TFET)is analyzed with 20 nm technology.Physical modelling and electrical characteristic performance have been simulated using the Atlas device simulator of SILVACO TCAD with user-defined material syntax for the newly included graphene material in comparison to silicon carbide(SiC).The simulation results in significant suppression of ambipolar current to voltage characteristics of TFET and modelled device exhibits a significant improvement in subthreshold swing(0.0159 V/decade),the ratio of Ion/Ioff(1000),and threshold voltage(-0.2 V with highly doped p-type source and 0.2 V with highly doped n-type drain)with power supply of 0.5 V,which make it useful for low power digital applications.

文摘To overcome the serious technological issues affecting lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries, such as sluggish sulfur redox kinetics and the detrimental shuttle effect, heterostructure engineering has been investigated as a strategy to effectively capture soluble lithium polysulfide intermediates and promote their conversion reaction by integrating highly polar metal oxides with catalytically active metals sulfides. However,to fully exploit the outstanding properties of heterostructure-based composites, their detailed structure and interfacial contacts should be designed rationally.Herein, optimally arranged TiO_(2)and MoS_(2)-based heterostructures(TiO_(2)@MoS_(2)) are fabricated on carbon cloth as a multifunctional interlayer to efficiently trap polysulfide intermediates and accelerate their redox kinetics.Owing to the synergistic effects between TiO_(2)and MoS_(2)and the uniform heterointerface distribution that induces the ideally oriented built-in electric field,Li-S batteries with TiO_(2)@MoS_(2)interlayers exhibit high rate capability(601 mA h g^(-1)at 5 C),good cycling stability(capacity-fade rate of 0.067% per cycle over 500 cycles at2 C),and satisfactory areal capacity(5.2 mA h cm^(-2)) under an increased sulfur loading of 5.2 mg cm^(-2).Moreover,by comparing with a MoS_(2)@TiO_(2)interlayer composed of reversely arranged heterostructures, the effect of the built-in electric field’s direction on the electrocatalytic reactions of polysulfide intermediates is thoroughly investigated for the first time. The superior electrocatalytic activities of the rationally arranged TiO_(2)@MoS_(2)interlayer demonstrate the importance of optimizing the built-in electric field of heterostructures for producing high-performance Li-S batteries.

文摘Terahertz(THz) radiation can be generated due to the instability of THz plasma waves in field-effect transistors(FETs). This finding provides a new idea for finding efficient THz radiation sources and opens up a new mechanism for the development of THz technology.
