This approach is tested on ORL dataset of faces which includes face images of 40 subjects, each in 10 different positions. The examined optical setup relies on optical correlation based on developing optical Vanderlugt filters and its basics are described in this article. With the limitation of face database of 40 persons, the recognition is examined successfully with nearly 100% of accuracy in matching the input images with their respective Vanderlugt synthesized filters. Software simulation is implemented by using MATLAB for face identification.展开更多
A multi-objective scheme for structural topology optimization of distributed compliant mechanisms of micro-actuators in MEMS condition is presented in this work, in which mechanical flexibility and structural stiffnes...A multi-objective scheme for structural topology optimization of distributed compliant mechanisms of micro-actuators in MEMS condition is presented in this work, in which mechanical flexibility and structural stiffness are both considered as objective functions. The compliant micro-mechanism developed in this way can not only provide sufficient output work but also have sufficient rigidity to resist reaction forces and maintain its shape when holding the work-piece. A density filtering approach is also proposed to eliminate numerical instabilities such as checkerboards, mesh-dependency and one-node connected hinges occurring in resulting mechanisms. SIMP is used as the interpolation scheme to indicate the dependence of material modulus on element-regularized densities. The sequential convex programming method, such as the method of moving asymptotes (MMA), is used to solve the optimization problem. The validation of the presented methodologies is demonstrated by a typical numerical example.展开更多
The performance of the conventional Kalman filter depends on process and measurement noise statistics given by the system model and measurements.The conventional Kalman filter is usually used for a linear system,but i...The performance of the conventional Kalman filter depends on process and measurement noise statistics given by the system model and measurements.The conventional Kalman filter is usually used for a linear system,but it should not be used for estimating the state of a nonlinear system such as a satellite motion because it is difficult to obtain the desired estimation results.The linearized Kalman filtering approach and the extended Kalman filtering approach have been proposed for a general nonlinear system.The equations of satellite motion are described.The satellite motion states are estimated,and the relevant estimation errors are calculated through the estimation algorithms of the both above mentioned approaches implemented in Matlab are estimated.The performances of the extended Kalman filter and the linearized Kalman filter are compared.The simulation results show that the extended Kalman filter is much better than the linearized Kalman filter at the aspect of estimation effect.展开更多
The segmented filters, based on spectral cutting, proved their efficiency for the multi-correlation. In this article we propose an optimisation of this cutting according to a new error diffusion method.
