It is thus necessary to establish a dynamic model fitting for the real-time control of material deformation processing in order to increase production efficiency, improve forging qualities and increase yields. In this paper, hot deformation behaviors of FGH96 superalloy are characterized by using hot compressive simulation experiments. The artificial neural network (ANN) model of FGH96 superalloy during hot deformation is established by using back propagation (BP) network. Then according to electrical analogy theory, its analog-circuit (AC) model is obtained through mapping the ANN model into analog circuit. The results showed that dynamic recrystallization (DRX) developed mainly at grain boundaries at lower strain rate (0.1-1 s^-1), while in the case of higher strain rate (10-50 s^-1), DRX occurred extensively both at twins and grain boundaries at all temperature range, especially at temperature lower than 350 ℃, which resulted in a more homogeneous microstructure than that under other deformation conditions. The modification on the conventional Arrhenius-type constitutive model approach was made, the material variables and activation energy were determined to be dependent on the deformation parameters. The modified flow stresses were found to be in close agreement with the experimental values. A series of isothermal compression tests were performed primarily on a Gleeble-3500 thermo-mechanical simulator in a temperature range of 648-748 K and a strain rate range of 0.01-10 s-1.According to the measured true stress-strain data, the strain hardening rate curves(dσ/dε versus σ) were plotted to identify the critical strains for DRX initiation(εc). By further derivation of the related material constants, the DRX volume fraction equation and the strain for 50% DRX(ε0.5) equation were solved. Accordingly, the aforementioned DRX equations were implanted into the FE model to conduct a series of simulations for the isothermal compression tests. The results show that during the evolution of DRX volume fraction at a fixed strain rate, the strain required for the same amount of DRX volume fraction increases with decreasing temperature. In contrast, at a fixed temperature, it increases with increasing strain rate. Ultimately, the DRX kinetics model of AlCu4 SiMg alloy and the consequence of the FE analysis were validated by microstructure observations.展开更多

文摘To investigate the flow behavior of 2219 Al alloy during warm deformation, the thermal compression test was conducted in the temperature range of 483-573 K and the strain rate range of 0.001-5 s^-1 on a Gleeble-3500 thermomechanical simulation unit. The true stress-true strain curves obtained showed that the flow stress increased with the decrease in temperature and/or the increase in strain rate and the softening mechanism primarily proceeded via dynamic recovery. The modification on the conventional Arrhenius-type constitutive model approach was made, the material variables and activation energy were determined to be dependent on the deformation parameters. The modified flow stresses were found to be in close agreement with the experimental values. Furthermore, the activation energy obtained under different deformation conditions showed that it decreased with the rise in temperature and/or strain rate, and was also affected by the coupled effect of strain and strain rate.

文摘To obtain flow behavior and workability of 7055 aluminium alloy during hot deformation, hot compression tests at different temperatures and strain rates are conducted.True stress?strain curves of 7055 aluminium alloy under different conditions are obtained and the flow stress increases with ascending strain rate and descending temperature. For Arrhenius constitutive equation, each material parameter is set as a constant, which will bring forth large error for predicting flow behavior. In this work, material parameters are fitted as a function of temperature or strain rate based on experimental results and a modified constitutive equation is established for more accurate prediction of flow behavior of 7055 aluminium alloy. The effects of temperature and strain rate on power dissipation and instability are analyzed to establish a processing map of 7055 aluminium alloy. The dominant deformation mechanism for microstructure evolution at different deformation conditions can be determined and high efficiency of power dissipation may be achieved from power dissipation map.Meanwhile, proper processing parameters to avoid flow instability can be easily acquired in instability map.According to the processing map, optimized processing parameters of 7055 aluminium alloy are temperature of 673?723 K and strain rate of 0.01?0.4 s^?1,during which its efficiency of power dissipation is over 30%.Finite element method(FEM)is used to obtain optimized parameter in hot rolling process on the basis of processing map.

文摘To improve the understanding of coupling effect between dynamic recrystallization(DRX)behaviors and flow behaviors of as-cast AlCu4 SiMg, a finite element(FE) simulation equipped with the models of DRX evolution was implemented. Ultimately, the DRX kinetics model of AlCu4 SiMg alloy and the consequence of the FE analysis were validated by microstructure observations.
文摘The thermomechanical behavior of precipitation-hardened aluminum alloy AA7022-T6 was studied using isothermal compression at temperatures of 623−773 K and strain rates of 0.01−1 s^−1.The experimental results indicated that dynamic recrystallization(DRX)is a predominant hot deformation mechanism, especially at elevated temperatures and low strain rates. The modified Johnson−Cook(J−C)and the strain compensated Arrhenius-type models were developed to predict the hot flow behavior under different deformation conditions. The correlation coefficients of modified J−C model and the strain compensated Arrhenius-type models were 0.9914 and 0.9972,respectively,their average relative errors(ARE)were 6.074%and 4.465%,respectively,and their root mean square errors(RMSE)were 10.611 and 1.665 MPa,respectively, indicating that the strain compensated Arrhenius-type model can predict the hot flow stress of AA7022-T6 aluminum alloy with an appropriate accuracy.
文摘Aluminium alloys generally present low weldability by traditional fusion welding process. Development of the friction stir welding (FSW) has provided an alternative improved way of producing aluminium joints in a faster and reliable manner. The quality of a weld joint is stalwartly influenced by process parameter used during welding. An approach to develop a mathematical model was studied for predicting and optimizing the process parameters of dissimilar aluminum alloy (AA6351 T6-AA5083 Hlll)joints by incorporating the FSW process parameters such as tool pin profile, tool rotational speed welding speed and axial force. The effects of the FSW process parameters on the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of friction welded dissimilar joints were discussed. Optimization was carried out to maximize the UTS using response surface methodology (RSM) and the identified optimum FSW welding parameters were reported.

文摘The hot deformation behavior of a Ta-particle reinforced TiAl composite was studied.Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb-0.2 W(at.%)/20 vol.%Ta metal matrix composite was fabricated by spark plasma sintering. The deformation behavior was investigated by hot compression tests at the temperature ranging from 1050 to 1200℃ and the strain rate ranging from 1×10-3 to 1 s-1.The constitutive equation containing true strain variables was established. The values of activation energy Q under different strain degrees are between 240 and 280 kJ/mol,which are lower than that of pure TiAl.Based on dynamic material modeling, the processing maps at various strain degrees were established, and the optimized parameters for hot working are 1050-1100℃ and 0.005-0.01 s-1.The microstructural evolution during deformation was characterized, which indicated that the dynamic recrystallization plays an important role in this process.
文摘A proper constitutive model was developed to predict the hot tensile flow behavior of IMI834 titanium alloy in α+β region. Hot tensile tests were performed at 800–1025 °C and 0.001–0.1 s−1. The constitutive model was developed through an Arrhenius-type equation at strains of 0.08–0.22 to characterize the hot tension behavior. It was found that the activation energies for hot tensile deformation of IMI834 titanium alloy are in the range of 519–557 kJ/mol at different strain values. The accuracy of predicted flow stress curves was evaluated using standard statistical parameters. These curves are appropriately found to be in good agreement with the experimental ones.

文摘The flow behavior of pressure-driven water infiltration through graphene-based slit nanopores has been studied by molecular simulation. The simulated flow rate is close to the experimental values, which demonstrates the reasonability of simulation results.Water molecules can spontaneously infiltrate into the nanopores, but an external driving force is generally required to pass through the whole pores. The exit of nanopore has a large obstruction on the water effusion. The flow velocity within the graphene nanochannels does not display monotonous dependence upon the pore width, indicating that the flow is related to the microscopic structures of water confined in the nanopores.Extensive structures of confined water are characterized in order to understand the flow behavior. This simulation improves the understanding of graphene-based nanofluidics, which helps in developing a new type of membrane separation technique.

文摘Ore particles, especially fine interlayers, commonly segregate in heap stacking, leading to undesirable flow paths and changeable flow velocity fields of packed beds.Computed tomography(CT),COMSOL Multiphysics, and MATLAB were utilized to quantify pore structures and visualize flow behavior inside packed beds with segregated fine interlayers. The formation of fine interlayers was accompanied with the segregation of particles in packed beds.Fine particles reached the upper position of the packed beds during stacking.CT revealed that the average porosity of fine interlayers(24.21%)was significantly lower than that of the heap packed by coarse ores(37.42%),which directly affected the formation of flow paths.Specifically, the potential flow paths in the internal regions of fine interlayers were undeveloped.Fluid flowed and bypassed the fine interlayers and along the sides of the packed beds.Flow velocity also indicated that the flow paths easily gathered in the pore throat where flow velocity(1.8×10^-5 m/s)suddenly increased.Fluid stagnant regions with a flow velocity lower than 0.2×10^-5 m/s appeared in flow paths with a large diameter.

文摘To investigate the dynamic recrystallization behavior of 7xxx aluminum alloys, the isothermal compression tests were carried on the 7056 aluminum alloy in the temperatures range of 320-440℃and in the strain rates range of 0.001-1 s^(-1).In addition, the microstructure of samples were observed via electron back scanning diffraction microscope.According to the results, true stress and true strain curves were established and an Arrhenius-type equation was established, showing the flow stress increases with the temperature decreasing and the strain rate increasing. The critical strain(ε_(c))and the critical stress(σ_(c))of the onset of dynamic recrystallization were identified via the strain hardening rate and constructed relationship between deformation parameters as follows:ε_(c)=6.71×10^(-4)Z^(0.1373) and σ_(p)=1.202σ_(c)+12.691.The DRX is incomplete in this alloy, whose volume fraction is only 20%even if the strain reaches 0.9.Through this study, the flow stress behavior and DRX behavior of 7056 aluminum alloys are deeply understood, which gives benefit to control the hot working process.
文摘The hot deformation characteristics of as-forged Ti−3.5Al−5Mo−6V−3Cr−2Sn−0.5Fe−0.1B−0.1C alloy within a temperature range from 750 to 910℃and a strain rate range from 0.001 to 1 s^(-1) were investigated by hot compression tests. The stress−strain curves show that the flow stress decreases with the increase of temperature and the decrease of strain rate. The microstructure is sensitive to deformation parameters. The dynamic recrystallization(DRX)grains appear while the temperature reaches 790℃at a constant strain rate of 0.001 s^(-1) and strain rate is not higher than 0.1 s^(-1) at a constant temperature of 910℃.The work-hardening rateθis calculated and it is found that DRX prefers to happen at high temperature and low strain rate. The constitutive equation and processing map were obtained. The average activation energy of the alloy is 242.78 kJ/mol and there are few unstable regions on the processing map, which indicates excellent hot workability. At the strain rate of 0.1 s^(-1),the stress−strain curves show an abnormal shape where there are two stress peaks simultaneously. This can be attributed to the alternation of hardening effect, which results from the continuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX)and the rotation of DRX grains, and dynamic softening mechanism.
