Research on Inheritance and Innovation of Children's Folk Sports Culture in the Junction Area Between Chongqing and Hubei

This paper examines the current status and development dilemma of the children’s folk sports culture in the junction area between Chongqing and Hubei with reference to relevant literature.After the literature review and summary,the study finds there are several factors restricting the inheritance and development of the children’s folk sports culture in the area,including insufficiency of theoretical analysis,weak public support in cities,blind imitation of modern sports culture,and absence of policy support.To address the above problems,we put forward several suggestions to promote the inheritance and development of children’s folk sports game culture.First,we should focus on the theoretical research and cultural dissemination of children’s folk sports culture.Second,we should improve the basic rules of children’s folk sports games.Third,importance should be attached to government support in developing children’s folk sports game culture.Fourth,we should ensure the continuation and inheritance of children’s folk sports culture via school activities.Finally,we should carry forward children’s folk sports culture and explore ways to develop excellent cultural tourism.

Restoration of Folk Document Covers from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China

The covers of booklets and books in folk documents primarily serve to protect the pages.Owing to long-term storage limitations,a considerable number of book covers have suffered varying degrees of damage.Following the principles of restoration,a comparative analysis and restoration of folk document covers were conducted,selecting four different types of carriers from the Taihang Mountain Documents,ranging from the Qing dynasty to the Republican Era.These carriers included hemp,mulberry bark,and machinemade paper,and cotton blue cloth.Each cover type was matched with an appropriate restoration paper,and different methods were employed during the restoration process.Through restoration,the previously damaged document covers can continue to fulfill their role in protecting the books,thereby extending the lifespan of these four folk documents.

Cultural Duplicity:The Social Poetic Nature of Folk Songs and Their Discourse

There is a close relationship between the folk songs and the earth bound society in China,bearing functions of load transfer,expression,dissemination of information,and beauty aspiration,etc.Folk songs are mainly presented through voice and thus possess powerful cultural duplicity,which rightly represents the social poetic quality that both the local residents and the nation-state need to take advantage of.A flexible space of co-existence is thus provided with for both of them.

Reconstructing Folk Concepts

Our reconstructions of folk concepts are often influenced by the metaphysical and epistemological doctrines we are committed to.Surprisingly enough,this influence is rarely recognized in definitional debates and has been mostly overlooked in the literature on philosophical definitions.It is frequent for philosophers to act as if only evidential support(for example,our intuitions across real and hypothetical cases)should be considered when choosing between competing reconstructions.This programmatic paper analyzes the interplay between philosophical commitments and evidence in the reconstruction of folk concepts.It also clarifies the precise manner in which metaphysical and epistemological doctrines influence philosophical definitions,why the incidence of metaphysical and epistemological doctrines is rarely recognized,and why theoretically motivated definitions should not be assimilated to the two major forms of definitions recognized in the relevant literature(descriptive and revisionary).

A Study on the Participation of Foreign Students in Local Cultural and Folk Activities in Wenzhou

The number of foreign students studying in Wenzhou, China has increased dramatically as a result of the Belt and Road Initiative. Learning the motivations and leisure constraints of foreign students' participation in local cultural and folk activities in Wenzhou is beneficial to promoting cultural adaptation, strengthening Chinese cultural self-confidence, and improving Wenzhou's international image. Based on the hierarchical model of leisure constraints (personal constraints, interpersonal constraints, and structural constraints), this study has tended to focus on the leisure constraints for foreign students participating in local folk and cultural activities in Wenzhou. A total of seven participants were included in the analysis.

Study on Ecological Folklore Tourism Development of Xi'an Chanba River Ecological Area

Taking the folklore tourism planning of Chanba River ecological area as the study object and aiming at problems in the development of folklore tourism in Xi'an, the planning technique of 'visualizing the intangible culture' was adopted in this study from the perspective of ecological folk-custom based on summarizing the characteristics of folk-custom tourism resources in the planning area, which discussed development ideas and strategies of the ecological folk-custom tourism resources to achieve a sustainable development of ecological folklore tourism development of Chanba River ecological area.

Influence of patio on indoor environment in a Chinese traditional folk house in summer

A case study is performed on the influence of the patio on the indoor environment of a traditional folk house group,named Zhangguying village in Hunan province,in the summer of 2007.Measurements include indoor and outdoor air temperature,indoor and outdoor illuminance,indoor and outdoor air speed,and carried out from August 5th to 10th.The results show that the patio,acting as a ＂buffer zone＂,can reduce the ambient impacts on the indoor thermal environment of rooms because the temperature of the patio is lower than that of the outdoor temperature but higher than that of the rooms.The patio can improve the indoor lighting environment because the illuminance of the patio is lower than that of outdoor and higher than that of the rooms.But the effect is too limited,because the illuminance of the rooms is lower than the national standards.This study shows that the shading design is the primary consideration in this kind of climate.The wind speed of the patio is stable and similar to that of the hall and the stack effect of the patio is not obvious.It shows that the patio is useful for natural ventilation,caused by wind pressure,in summer.

Influence of site selection on natural ventilation in Chinese traditional folk house

The relationship between the site selection of a hilly terrain and the natural ventilation of the Dangdamen building complex,which is a traditional folk house,is revealed by a computational fluid dynamics（CFD）simulation.The wind press and speed distributions around the building in four cases with different weather conditions and topographies are simulated.The simulation results show that a hill can reduce the absolute values of the wind pressure at the windward and leeward sides of the building.The encouraging effect of the patio on the natural ventilation in a terrain with a hill is greater than that without a hill.The same situation occurs when comparing the patio effects between summer and winter.The wind speed around the building can be reduced by the hill as it is an obstacle and the degrees of the influence of the hill in summer and in winter are quite different because of different wind directions.The analysis results show that this kind of site selection,with the hill to the north,is a suitable way to settle the conflict of the natural ventilation requirements in summer and in winter under subtropical climate conditions,especially in houses with patios.

Analysis of the Spatial Features of the Traditional Folk Houses in Three Gorges Region

The spatial composition of natural environment and settlement in the Three Gorges region along the Yangtze River was analyzed from a macro perspective,which emphasized its characteristics of the interdependence among its buildings,landform and waterscape,between buildings and landscape,and integration of nature and human culture.Then the spatial features of folk houses were analyzed,while special attention was paid to its "upward","grey",and dynamic characteristics.The courtyard-type residence and stilted building in South China were taken as examples in order to explain their exterior spatial characteristics,and the interior spatial features were analyzed from the pursuit of courtyard layout,the preference of courtyard space and the emphasis of central room space.The paper exposed the builders' rational thinking about natural environment and living place conveyed through the traditional folk houses,as well as the practical value of this architectural style in the special natural environment of the Three Gorges region,and explained the artistic achievements from the integration of architecture and environment,aiming to provide references for the urban and living environment construction in this region during the "Post Three-Gorges Project Era".

Evolution pattern of folk dwellings of the Dai Nationality in Guanchun Village,Dehong Prefecture,Yunnan Province is discussed in this study,and Field Study of the anthropology is applied to study family structure and use of residential spaces in this village.The study shows that structure of traditional residence is changing,traditional buildings cannot meet demands of modern life due to the changing lifestyle;it is a trend that traditional building materials like brick and wood are to be substituted by new materials.It implies that useful elements of traditional living styles and construction patterns should be refined in the update of folk dwellings in the village ofminorities,and combined with modern building materials and techniques to satisfy the demands of modern life.

Taking Yangping Village,Quyang County,Hebei Province for an example,folk culture tourism in rural areas of Quyang County was analyzed,on the basis of which advantages were pointed out as rich tourist resources,excellent location,already-developed tourism industry,and also disadvantages as poor road landscaping,serious environment pollution,shortage of high-quality talents,and inadequate development of small commodities.In view of this,corresponding principles and development strategies were proposed to supervise the folk culture tourism in rural areas,such as interaction of commerce and tourism,culture-based,dynamic participation,systematic planning,all-round consideration and so on.As for Yangping Village,key construction projects were discussed from the perspectives of environment construction,design of recreational zone in Shigang Carvings Park,design of functional zone on Huangshi Plaza,design of rural tourist commodities,so as to provide useful references for the development of folk culture tourist resources in China.

Farming Ritual and Festival Folk Custom of Dong Ethnic Minority Group

In order to pray for harvest and express gratitude, Dong ethnic arranged sacrifices of farming in accordance with periodicity of rice production and its requirements to festivals and calendar. Meanwhile, New Year, Pray in Spring and Return in Autumn not only play significant roles in agricultural production, but also evolve to farming holidays which are enriched with more social connotations. Centered on husbandry and production, some folklore that is rich in local color has been formed in Dong society. The writer introduced some farming ritual of Dong ethnic group, such as, sowing, Kai Yang Men, Rain-praying, Chang Xin, reaping and Lunar New Year, summarized their belief in the land worship, festival ritual, ancestor ritual and ceres ritual. It is concluded that sacrifice is a production-related folklore, which is formed by repeated operation and constant practice. Some taboos were also prohibited in agricultural sacrifice because people were not able to change the unfavorable reality of farming with their insufficient experience and knowledge; however, they resorted to witchcraft for the purpose of harvest. It is believed that the activity of sacrifice will also be kept in the life of Dong ethnic group due to their dependency on agriculture and the land.
