Heart monitoring improves life quality.Electrocardiograms(ECGs or EKGs)detect heart irregularities.Machine learning algorithms can create a few ECG diagnosis processing methods.The first method uses raw ECG and time-series data.The second method classifies the ECG by patient experience.The third technique translates ECG impulses into Q waves,R waves and S waves(QRS)features using richer information.Because ECG signals vary naturally between humans and activities,we will combine the three feature selection methods to improve classification accuracy and diagnosis.Classifications using all three approaches have not been examined till now.Several researchers found that Machine Learning(ML)techniques can improve ECG classification.This study will compare popular machine learning techniques to evaluate ECG features.Four algorithms—Support Vector Machine(SVM),Decision Tree,Naive Bayes,and Neural Network—compare categorization results.SVM plus prior knowledge has the highest accuracy(99%)of the four ML methods.QRS characteristics failed to identify signals without chaos theory.With 99.8%classification accuracy,the Decision Tree technique outperformed all previous experiments. 展开更多

This paper reports that the performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) degrades due to chaos when its systemic parameters fall into a certain area. To control the undesirable chaos in PMSM, a nonlinear controller, which is simple and easy to be constructed, is presented to achieve finite-time chaos control based on the finite-time stability theory. Computer simulation results show that the proposed controller is very effective. The obtained results may help to maintain the industrial servo driven system's security operation. 展开更多

The deficiencies of basic particle swarm optimization (bPSO) are its ubiquitous prematurity and its inability to seek the global optimal solution when optimizing complex high-dimensional functions. To overcome such deficiencies, the chaos-PSO (COSPSO) algorithm was established by introducing the chaos optimization mechanism and a global particle stagnation-disturbance strategy into bPSO. In the improved algorithm, chaotic movement was adopted for the particles' initial movement trajectories to replace the former stochastic movement, and the chaos factor was used to guide the particles' path. When the global particles were stagnant, the disturbance strategy was used to keep the particles in motion. Five benchmark optimizations were introduced to test COSPSO, and they proved that COSPSO can remarkably improve efficiency in optimizing complex functions. Finally, a case study of COSPSO in calculating design flood hydrographs demonstrated the applicability of the improved algorithm. 展开更多

The security of digital images transmitted via the Internet or other public media is of the utmost importance.Image encryption is a method of keeping an image secure while it travels across a non-secure communication medium where it could be intercepted by unauthorized entities.This study provides an approach to color image encryption that could find practical use in various contexts.The proposed method,which combines four chaotic systems,employs singular value decomposition and a chaotic sequence,making it both secure and compression-friendly.The unified average change intensity,the number of pixels’change rate,information entropy analysis,correlation coefficient analysis,compression friendliness,and security against brute force,statistical analysis and differential attacks are all used to evaluate the algorithm’s performance.Following a thorough investigation of the experimental data,it is concluded that the proposed image encryption approach is secure against a wide range of attacks and provides superior compression friendliness when compared to chaos-based alternatives. 展开更多

Atypical chaotic system is the atmosphere;this limits the knowledge about its behavior;but with the advance in the computers, the results that are obtained with the chaos theory improved significantly;the description of atmosphera and its results have extended to other fields of the science, as the economy, health and others. The object of this work was to determine the atmospheric dynamics in the Riobamba city using the theory of chaos, with meteorological data of the meteorological station of the ESPOCH of one year (2010) of data that were processed with model TISEAN. Chaos-based encryption schemes have been studied extensively, while the security analysis methods for them are still problems to be resolved. Based on the periodic orbit theory, this paper proposes a novel security analysis method. The periodic orbits theory indicates that the fundamental frequency of the spiraling orbits is the natural frequency of associated linearized system, which is decided by the parameters of the chaotic system. Thus, it is possible to recover the plaintext of secure communication systems based on chaotic shift keying by getting the average time on the spiraling orbits. Analysis and simulation results show that the security analysis method can break chaos shift keying secure communication systems, which use the parameters as keys. 展开更多

Based on the evolution of geological dynamics and spatial chaos theory, we proposed the advanced prediction an advanced prediction method of a gas desorption index of drill cuttings to predict coal and gas outbursts. We investigated and verified the prediction method by a spatial series data of a gas desorption index of drill cuttings obtained from the II3112 coal roadway at the Shitai Mine. Our experimental results show that the spatial distribution of the gas desorption index of drill cuttings has some chaotic characteristics, which implies that the risk of coal and gas outbursts can be predicted by spatial chaos theory. We also found that a proper amount of sample data needs to be chosen in order to ensure the accuracy and practical maneuverability of prediction. The relative prediction error is small when the prediction pace is chosen carefully. In our experiments, it turned out that the optimum number of sample points is 80 and the optimum prediction pace 30. The corresponding advanced prediction pace basically meets the requirements of engineering applications. 展开更多

In the common theory of the Universe, the redshift of the light wavelength from distant stars indicates the speed of the star. In this study, the model of the Universe is the surface volume of the four-dimensional sphere, and the shape of the Universe results in the most of the redshift of light wavelength. Therefore, there is no dark energy accelerating the Universe. The surface of the four-dimensional sphere is a volume, and this volume is a good model for the Universe. The surface volume of the four-dimensional sphere has been explained by a model of four-dimensional cube, within which the forming of surface volume can be easily shown. The model of four-dimensional cube containing six side cubes is ingenious for explaining the structure of the four-dimensional Universe, but it is not enough because the four-dimensional cube has not six side cubes, but eight side cubes. Therefore, in this study a better method has been created to construct the four-dimensional cube. Our three-dimensional Universe is the surface of the four-dimensional sphere Universe. The volume of our three-dimensional Universe is finite, and beneath it is the infinite volume four-dimensional Super Universe. Two important basic formulae have been derived: The surface volume of the four-dimensional sphere is π<sup>3</sup>R<sup>3</sup> in which R is the radius of the sphere, and the fourth-power volume of the four-dimensional sphere is 1/4 π<sup>3</sup>R<sup>4</sup>. The volume of the Universe has been calculated π<sup>3</sup>R<sup>3</sup> = 62 × 10<sup>30</sup> ly<sup>3</sup>. Time as the fourth dimension of the space takes effect only near the speed of light, and therefore it has been ignored in this study. 展开更多

In this paper, controlling chaos when chaotic ferroresonant oscillations occur in a voltage transformer with nonlin- ear core loss model is performed. The effect of a parallel metal oxide surge arrester on the ferroresonance oscillations of voltage transformers is studied. The metal oxide arrester (MOA) is found to be effective in reducing ferroresonance chaotic oscillations. Also the multiple scales method is used to analyze the chaotic behavior and different types of fixed points in ferroresonance of voltage transformers considering core loss. This phenomenon has nonlinear chaotic dynamics and includes sub-harmonic, quasi-periodic, and also chaotic oscillations. In this paper, the chaotic behavior and various ferroresonant oscillation modes of the voltage transformer is studied. This phenomenon consists of different types of bifur- cations such as period doubling bifurcation (PDB), saddle node bifurcation (SNB), Hopf bifurcation (HB), and chaos. The dynamic analysis of ferroresonant circuit is based on bifurcation theory. The bifurcation and phase plane diagrams are il- lustrated using a continuous method and linear and nonlinear models of core loss. To analyze ferroresonance phenomenon, the Lyapunov exponents are calculated via the multiple scales method to obtain Feigenbaum numbers. The bifurcation diagrams illustrate the variation of the control parameter. Therefore, the chaos is created and increased in the system. 展开更多

An effective approach of urban prediction can be a valuable tool in urban decision making and planning. A large urban development has been occurred during last decade in the touristic village of Pogonia Etoloakarnanias, Greece, where an urban growth of 57.5% has been recorded from 2003 to 2011. The prediction of new urban settlements was achieved using fractals and theory of chaos. More specifically, it was found that the urban growth is taken place within a Sierpinski carpet. Several shapes of Sierpinski carpets were tested in order to find the most appropriate, which produced an accuracy percentage of 70.6% for training set and 81.8% for validation set. This prediction method can be effectively applied in urban growth modelling, once cities are fractals and urban complexity can be successfully described through a Sierpinski tessellation. 展开更多

As for the drop of particle diversity and the slow convergent speed of particle in the late evolution period when particle swarm optimization(PSO) is applied to solve high-dimensional multi-modal functions,a hybrid optimization algorithm based on the cat mapping,the cloud model and PSO is proposed.While the PSO algorithm evolves a certain of generations,this algorithm applies the cat mapping to implement global disturbance of the poorer individuals,and employs the cloud model to execute local search of the better individuals;accordingly,the obtained best individuals form a new swarm.For this new swarm,the evolution operation is maintained with the PSO algorithm,using the parameter of pop distr to balance the global and local search capacity of the algorithm,as well as,adopting the parameter of mix gen to control mixing times of the algorithm.The comparative analysis is carried out on the basis of 4 functions and other algorithms.It indicates that this algorithm shows faster convergent speed and better solving precision for solving functions particularly those high-dimensional multi-modal functions.Finally,the suggested values are proposed for parameters pop distr and mix gen applied to different dimension functions via the comparative analysis of parameters. 展开更多

This paper proposes a method of realizing generalized chaos synchronization of a weighted complex network with different nodes. Chaotic systems with diverse structures are taken as the nodes of the complex dynamical network, the nonlinear terms of the systems are taken as coupling functions, and the relations among the nodes are built through weighted connections. The structure of the coupling functions between the connected nodes is obtained based on Lyapunov stability theory. A complex network with nodes of Lorenz system, Coullet system, RSssler system and the New system is taken as an example for simulation study and the results show that generalized chaos synchronization exists in the whole weighted complex network with different nodes when the coupling strength among the nodes is given with any weight value. The method can be used in realizing generalized chaos synchronization of a weighted complex network with different nodes. Furthermore, both the weight value of the coupling strength among the nodes and the number of the nodes have no effect on the stability of synchronization in the whole complex network. 展开更多

Chaos ergodicity is used to initialize the population, and chaotic anneal mutation operator is used as the substitute for the mutation operator in SGA. CAGA is a unified framework of the existing chaotic mutation methods. To validate the proposed algorithm, three algorithms, i. e. Baum-Welch, SGA and CAGA, are compared on training hidden Markov model (HMM) to recognize the hand gestures. Experiments on twenty-six alphabetical gestures show the CAGA validity. 展开更多

To achieve the goal of image content authentication and copyright protection simultaneously, this paper presents a novel image dual watermarking method based on chaotic map. Firstly, the host image was split into many nonoverlapping small blocks, and the block-wise discrete cosine transform (DCT) is computed. Secondly, the robust watermarks, shuffled by the chaotic sequences, are embedded in the DC coefficients of blocks to achieve the goal of copyright protection. The semi-fragile watermarks, generated by chaotic map, are embedded in the AC coefficients of blocks to obtain the aim of image authentication. Both of them can be extracted without the original image. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm in terms of robustness and fragility. 展开更多

The proposed system is a conventional power network that demonstrates a chaotic behavior under special operating conditions. Some features such as Lyapunov exponents and a strange attractor show the chaotic behavior of the system, which decreases the system performance. Two different controllers are proposed to control the chaotic system. The first one is a nonlinear conventional controller that is simple and easy to construct, but the second one is developed based on the finite time control theory and optimized for faster control. The discovery of chaos in the sixties of last century was a breakthrough in concept,revealing the truth that some disorder behavior,called chaos,could happen even in a deterministic nonlinear system under barely deterministic disturbance.After a series of serious studies,people begin to acknowledge that chaos is a specific type of steady state motion other than the conventional periodic and quasi-periodic ones,featuring a sensitive dependence on initial conditions,resulting from the intrinsic randomness of a nonlinear system itself.In fact,chaos is a collective phenomenon consisting of massive individual chaotic responses,corresponding to different initial conditions in phase space.Any two adjacent individual chaotic responses repel each other,thus causing not only the sensitive dependence on initial conditions but also the existence of at least one positive top Lyapunov exponent(TLE) for chaos.Meanwhile,all the sample responses share one common invariant set on the Poincaré map,called chaotic attractor,which every sample response visits from time to time ergodically.So far,the existence of at least one positive TLE is a commonly acknowledged remarkable feature of chaos.We know that there are various forms of uncertainties in the real world.In theoretical studies,people often use stochastic models to describe these uncertainties,such as random variables or random processes.Systems with random variables as their parameters or with random processes as their excitations are often called stochastic systems.No doubt,chaotic phenomena also exist in stochastic systems,which we call stochastic chaos to distinguish it from deterministic chaos in the deterministic system.Stochastic chaos reflects not only the intrinsic randomness of the nonlinear system but also the external random effects of the random parameter or the random excitation.Hence,stochastic chaos is also a collective massive phenomenon,corresponding not only to different initial conditions but also to different samples of the random parameter or the random excitation.Thus,the unique common feature of deterministic chaos and stochastic chaos is that they all have at least one positive top Lyapunov exponent for their chaotic motion.For analysis of random phenomena,one used to look for the PDFs(Probability Density Functions) of the ensemble random responses.However,it is a pity that PDF information is not favorable to studying repellency of the neighboring chaotic responses nor to calculating the related TLE,so we would rather study stochastic chaos through its sample responses.Moreover,since any sample of stochastic chaos is a deterministic one,we need not supplement any additional definition on stochastic chaos,just mentioning that every sample of stochastic chaos should be deterministic chaos.We are mainly concerned with the following two basic kinds of nonlinear stochastic systems,i.e.one with random variables as its parameters and one with ergodical random processes as its excitations.To solve the stochastic chaos problems of these two kinds of systems,we first transform the original stochastic system into their equivalent deterministic ones.Namely,we can transform the former stochastic system into an equivalent deterministic system in the sense of mean square approximation with respect to the random parameter space by the orthogonal polynomial approximation,and transform the latter one simply through replacing its ergodical random excitations by their representative deterministic samples.Having transformed the original stochastic chaos problem into the deterministic chaos problem of equivalent systems,we can use all the available effective methods for further chaos analysis.In this paper,we aim to review the state of art of studying stochastic chaos with its control and synchronization by the above-mentioned strategy. 展开更多
