One-cycles on Gushel-Mukai fourfolds and the Beauville-Voisin filtration

We prove that the invariant locus of the involution associated with a general double EisenbudPopescu-Walter(EPW)sextic is a constant cycle surface and introduce a filtration on CH1of a Gushel-Mukai fourfold.We verify the sheaf/cycle correspondence for sheaves supported on low-degree rational curves,parallel to the case of cubic fourfolds of Shen-Yin’s work.

On the Chow Groups of Certain Cubic Fourfolds

This note is about the Chow groups of a certain family of smooth cubic fourfolds. This family is characterized by the property that each cubic fourfold X in the family has an involution such that the induced involution on the Fano variety F of lines in X is symplectic and has a K3 surface S in the fixed locus. The main result establishes a relation between X and S on the level of Chow motives. As a consequence, we can prove finite-dimensionality of the motive of certain members of the family. Cohomology of Moduli Space of Cubic Fourfolds Ⅰ

In this paper we compute the cohomology of moduli space of cubic fourfolds with ADE type singularities relying on Kirwan’s blowup and Laza’s GIT construction. More precisely, we obtain the Betti numbers of Kirwan’s resolution of the moduli space. Furthermore, by applying decomposition theorem we obtain the Betti numbers of the intersection cohomology of Baily-Borel compactification of the moduli space.

This study explores the application of Abrams’Fourfold Model in the classification of Western literary criticism.Abrams’framework categorizes literary criticism into four fundamental elements:text,author,world,and audience.The text is viewed as an independent entity with intrinsic artistic value,necessitating a detailed analysis of its structure,style,themes,and symbols.Author study delves into the creator’s life and socio-cultural context,often to uncover the work’s deeper meanings.Contextual study situates the work within its historical and social milieu,examining its reflection of or response to societal norms and events.Audience response analysis considers the diverse interpretations shaped by readers’backgrounds,emphasizing the reader’s role in constructing the work’s meaning.The study concludes that Abrams’Fourfold Model offers a comprehensive and flexible analytical tool,enabling critics to engage with literary works from multiple perspectives,thereby enriching the understanding of literary complexity and diversity.

Theoretical investigation of ferromagnetic resonance in a ferromagnetic thin film with external stress anisotropy

We use the ferromagnetic resonance(FMR)method to study the properties of ferromagnetic thin film,in which external stress anisotropy,fourfold anisotropy and uniaxial anisotropy are considered.The analytical expressions of FMR frequency,linewidth and the imaginary part of magnetic susceptibility are obtained.Our results reveal that the FMR frequency and the imaginary part of magnetic susceptibility are distinctly enhanced,and the frequency linewidth or field linewidth are broadened due to a strong external stress anisotropy field.The hard-axis and easy-axis components of magnetization can be tuned significantly by controlling the intensity and direction of stress and the in-plane uniaxial anisotropy field.

A Study of Idiom Translation in Bonsall’s The Red Chamber Dream

This paper combines quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the translation characteristics of idioms in B.S.Bonsall’s full English translation of The Red Chamber Dream,starting from George Steiner’s fourfold hermeneutic motion:trust,aggression,incorporation,and restitution.Through data statistics and conclusion analysis,I concluded that the translation strategies of idioms in Bonsall’s English translation are mainly literal translations,supplemented by free translations,and literal translations combined with free translations,which also provides some enlightenment for the English translation of Chinese classics.

The Translator's Subjectivity under George Steiner's Fourfold Translation Motion Theory-A Case Study on Lin Yutang's Translation of Fu Sheng Liu Ji

Since the advent of the cultural turn in translation studies in the 1970s, the focus of translation studies has been shifted to the subjectivity of translators. This paper attempts to make a tentative probe into the translator's subjectivity manifested in the translation of Fu Sheng Liu Ji by Shen Fu on the basis of George Steiner's fourfold translation motion theory, namely"trust", "aggression","incorporation"and"compensation". By the study, we may obtain scientific understanding of how the translation is shaped by the translator's subjectivity, thus affirming the importance and necessity of the later in literary translation.
