Numerical solver using a uniform grid is popular due to its simplicity and low computational cost, but would be unfeasible in the presence of tiny structures in large-scale media. It is necessary to use a nonuniform grid, where upsampling the wavefield from the coarse grid to the fine grid is essential for reducing artifacts. In this paper, we suggest a local refinement scheme using the Fourier interpolation, which is superior to traditional interpolation methods since it is theoretically exact if the input wavefield is band limited.Traditional interpolation methods would fail at high upsampling ratios(say 50); in contrast, our scheme still works well in the same situations, and the upsampling ratio can be any positive integer. A high upsampling ratio allows us to greatly reduce the computational burden and memory demand in the presence of tiny structures and large-scale models, especially for 3D cases. 展开更多

The reflectometry is a common method used to measure the thickness of thin films. Using a conventional method,its measurable range is limited due to the low resolution of the current spectrometer embedded in the reflectometer.We present a simple method, using cubic spline interpolation to resample the spectrum with a high resolution,to extend the measurable transparent film thickness. A large measuring range up to 385 m in optical thickness is achieved with the commonly used system. The numerical calculation and experimental results demonstrate that using the FFT method combined with cubic spline interpolation resampling in reflectrometry, a simple,easy-to-operate, economic measuring system can be achieved with high measuring accuracy and replicability. 展开更多

A generalized approach for narrowband interference (NBI) suppression in direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) communication systems using adaptive infinite impulse response (IIR) filter is presented. The excision filter coefficients depend on both the jammer power and its instantaneous frequency. The dependency of the filter construction on the jammer power is significant as it allows optimal tradeoff between interference removal and signal distortion by maximizing the receiver signal to noise ratio improvement(SNRI). Instead of traditional adaptive line enhancer (ALE) estimator, a preferable NBI estimator-Fourier interpolation estimator (FIE) is proposed. Closed-form expressions of the SNR improvement and theoretical bit error rate (BER) based on the assumption that the output of the correlator is Gaussian distributed are both derived. Performance results obtained by numerical simulation are also presented and compared with theoretical results. 展开更多

In this article,an effective technique is developed to efficiently obtain the output responses of parameterized structural dynamic problems.This technique is based on the conception of reduced basis method and the usage of linear interpolation principle.The original problem is projected onto the reduced basis space by linear interpolation projection,and subsequently an associated interpolation matrix is generated.To ensure the largest nonsingularity,the interpolation matrix needs to go through a timenode choosing process,which is developed by applying the angle of vector spaces.As a part of this technique,error estimation is recommended for achieving the computational error bound.To ensure the successful performance of this technique,the offline-online computational procedures are conducted in practical engineering.Two numerical examples demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the presented method. 展开更多
