Methods Night urinary free cortisol excretion and blood pressure & its related factor were measured in 188 young people. Results In young men with hypertension the 8 h's night UFC excretion was significantly higher than that in the group with normal blood pressure 21. 57±6. 28μg/8 h vs 10. 54 ± 5. 46 μg/8 h ( P < 0. 05) . In a group of young people with positive family history of hypertension, the night UFC excretion was much higher than that in the group with negative family history of hypertension. Men excrete much more night UFC than women (12. 73 ± 5. 85 μg/8 h vs 7. 80 ± 4. 15 μg/8 h, P < 0. 05). Conclusions There is an association between hypertension and high 8h's night UFC excretion; furthermore, there is gender difference in night UFC excretion.展开更多

We analysed the blood test results of nine overweight adults with sedentary lifestyles, and an average BMI of 32.23. Results revealed a statistically significant reduction of visceral adipose tissue, very-low density lipoprotein (VLDL), and triglycerides. Testosterone, leptin, IGF-1 and Free T3 increased within the normal range, juxtaposed by cortisol and ghrelin that declined, but without dipping into abnormality. These findings have important implications during the COVID-19 pandemic, where optimal immunity is deemed necessary in limiting susceptibility to the virus. Recent research indicates that weight gain often escalates vulnerability to respiratory track disturbances, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes. Consequently, pre-existing conditions increase COVID-19 mortality rates. CVD and diabetes emerge out of hormonal imbalances that involve Free T3, leptin, ghrelin, testosterone, and cortisol. Physical training is decidedly the most acclaimed solution, yet, the least implemented one, due to procrastination, or demoralization after investing constant exhaustive effort with no immediately visible physical change. COVID-19 confinement exacerbates the tendency for inactivity, and promotes stress-eating behaviours. Moreover, strenuous exercise, necessary for visceral fat reduction, results in a negative cortisol/testosterone relationship that provokes caloric consumption and inflammation. Offering an alternative to exercise that effectively improves health, boosts metabolism, and controls appetite, may serve as a proactive, and preventive method that can safeguard health.展开更多

C angustipes sp nov.is similar to C baojingensis Guo,He et Bai,1992,but with longer rostrum,15-27 dorsal teeth,3-6 ventral teeth, and straighter inner margin of endopods in male 1st pleopods. C clavipes sp nov.is similar to C angustipes ,but with narrower distal and fewer spines on inner margin of endopds in male 1st pleopods, and shorter and thinner appendix masculina in male 2nd pleopods with only 1 spine on inner lateral margin and 4 spines in apex. The holotypes are deposited in Shanghai Fisheries University. Some representative paratypes are deposited in Foshan Science and Technology College.展开更多
