The structures of the two polymers were verified by ...This paper describes the synthesis and free radical ring-opening polymerization of 2-methyl-and 2-methyl-9-n-butyl (-7-methylene-1, 4, 6-trioxaspiro (4, 4) nonane). The structures of the two polymers were verified by IR, 'H and ^(13)C NMR spectra. The substituent on 9-position of 7-methylene-trioxaspiro (4, 4) nonane affects the structure of polymer and polymerization activity. The polymerization mechanism is discussed.展开更多
The 2,2-dinitropropyl methacrylate(DNPMA) was synthesized by esterification of α-methacrylic acid with 2,2-dinitropropanol.The free-radical bulk polymerization of DNPMA in the presence of 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile...The 2,2-dinitropropyl methacrylate(DNPMA) was synthesized by esterification of α-methacrylic acid with 2,2-dinitropropanol.The free-radical bulk polymerization of DNPMA in the presence of 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile(AIBN) was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) in the nonisothermal mode.Kissinger,Ozawa and Barrett methods were applied to determine the activation energy(Ea) and the reaction order of the free-radical polymerization.The results showed that the temperature of exothermic polymerization peaks increased with increasing heating rate.With increasing the molar ratio of monomer/initiator and the heating rate,the reaction order of nonisothermal polymerization was approximately equal to 1.The average Ea value from Kissinger and Ozawa methods(77.74±1.07 kJ/mol) was smaller than the value from the Barrett method(Ea=102.36 kJ/mol).展开更多

The one-pot conversion of premade substituted 5-aryl pentanoic acid and 8-benzyl-1-naphthoic acid in the presence of K2S2Os--CuCl2 results to the δ-lactones in moderate to good yields. In com...The static O-H bond parameters including O-H bond length, O-H charge difference, O-H Mulliken population and O-H bond stretching force constant (k) for 17 phenols were calculated by ab initio method HF/6-31G**. In combination with the O-H bond dissociation enthalpies (BDE) of the phenols determined by experiment, it was found that there were poor correlationships between the static O-H bond parameters and O-H BDE. Considering the good correlationship bt tween O-H BDE and logarithm of free radical scavenging rate constant for phenolic antioxidant, it is reasonable to believe that the ineffectiveness of static O-H bond parameters in characterizing antioxidant activity arises from the fact that they cannot measure the O-H BDE.展开更多

The surface morphology of Al2O3 dielectric layer was analysed using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), where the size of Al2O3 particles was in the range of 2 μm to 5 μm. At the same time, the biochemical effect of hydroxyl radicals on the introduced organisms and the quality of ship's ballast water were studied. The results indicate that the main reasons of cell death are lipid peroxide and damage of the antioxidant enzyme system in Catalase (CAT), Peroxidase (POD) and Superoxide dismutase (SOD). In addition, the quality of the ballast water was greatly improved.展开更多
Three water-soluble β-alanine C 60 adducts with different addition numbers, C 60(NHCH 2CH 2COONa) nH n(n=1,5,9), were synthesized. The products were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. The antioxida...Three water-soluble β-alanine C 60 adducts with different addition numbers, C 60(NHCH 2CH 2COONa) nH n(n=1,5,9), were synthesized. The products were characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. The antioxidant activity of these C 60 adducts as the quencher for superoxide anion radical O -· 2 was evaluated by chemiluminescence in the system of pyrogallol-luminol. The results indicate that the three C 60 derivatives are all excellent quencher for superoxide anion radical O -· 2. The concentrations of 50% inhibition are 252, 140, 112 μmol/L respectively. This high efficiency should be attributed to many factors such as the numbers of remaining double bonds, donor effect of amino group and steric effect. However, the above results also suggest the effect of the adducted β-alanine groups is predominated in this system.展开更多
